Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Jerry Nadler says he takes no issue with a colleague dismissing Sept. 11, 2001, as a day when “some people did something.” When asked if he “take[s] any issue with the way [Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan] Omar characterized 9/11,” Democratic New York Rep. Nadler, whose congressional district contains the on-site memorial to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, said, “No, I did not.” (Tweet/Video) The congressman was being asked about the incident in the light of Omar’s recent speech to the Council on American-Islamic Relations in which she appeared to trivialize the events of Sept. 11,

This is all that matters to the Democrat Party. Race. Liberal Democrat and Trump-hater Al Green asked top bankers to identify their race at a committee hearing last Wednesday. It’s all about identity politics. That’s all that matters.CNS News reported: Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) asked seven of the nation’s leading bankers on Wednesday to confirm their race. “As I look at the panel, and I’m grateful for your attendance, the–the eye would perceive that the seven of you have something in common. You appear to be white men. I may be mistaken,” Green said at a hearing of the House

(Snip)Wednesday After a brief lull, severe thunderstorms are expected to flare up once again Wednesday afternoon, particularly in the southern Plains of Oklahoma and Texas. What do the following four points have in common? *The manipulated DC legal case surrounding the Awan brothers; and how they escaped full accountability, likely due to need to protect politicians. (House of Representatives) The sweetheart plea deal. *The manipulated DC legal case surrounding SSCI Security Director James Wolfe; and how he was allowed to plea only to lying to investigators when the evidence was clear from the outset how he leaked classified information to his journalist concubine. The left has more candidates running for president in 2020 than a Boston Marathon. I’ve been in mosh pits less crowded than this claustrophobic roomful of crushing egos. The Democrats don’t seem to care. Ambition is its own reward, damn the actual results. So the strategy here seems to be the test used to determine when pasta is done -- throw a few strands on the wall. If they stick, voila, you’re good to go. The problem is that the Democratic field running today have no real fiber. Their positions are uniform, frail and thin.

President Donald Trump said Monday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has lost control of her caucus and Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Muslim congresswoman from Minnesota, is running the show. As he prepared to fly to Omar’s home state for a tax day event, the president called the Minnesota Democrat an ‘anti-Semite’ who is ‘ungrateful’ in a tweet that questioned the Somalian-born lawmaker’s loyalty to the United States. Omar and her family applied for asylum and relocated to the U.S. in the mid-90’s. She became a U.S. citizen as a teen. ‘Before Nancy, who has lost all control of Congress

Little noticed change in visa procedures

For some foreign nationals seeking a visa to come to the US, a little noticed change in the State Department handbook for approving visa applications has led to their denial, even though the applicant appears to have met all legal criteria to enter the country. The handbook change gave consular officers much wider latitude in the ability to deny an individual a visa. As can be expected, some apparently worthy applicants have been denied entry to the US. But the change was necessary. It had to do with determining whether or not a visa applicant would become a "public charge"

Dallas will no longer prosecute ´petty crimes´

Is this the face of criminal justice "reform"? Dallas County district attorney John Creuzot is enacting sweeping changes to the way his office deals with crime. It appears that Creuzot will be giving petty criminals a pass. Creuzot will "decriminalize" most petty crimes against property, reform the bail system, and refuse to prosecute first-time drug offenders. Dallas Morning News: But as we work toward improvements, we are apprehensive about Creuzot´s plan to decriminalize low-level crimes. It has the potential to send the wrong message about our tolerance for any crime in this county.

The recent wave of asylum-seekers from Central America who have shown up at our southern border points out the desperate need for reforming our asylum laws and procedures. The fact is, few asylum-seekers will be successful because they don´t come here to escape religious persecution or political oppression. They come for "a better life." You can hardly blame them for that, considering the hell-holes they are trying to escape. But asylum laws were written not to give people a better life.

The March 28 FBI document alleges that a Chinese migrant named Weiyun Huang took money to issue fraudulent claims of employment to Chinese students who were seeking to get “Optional Practical Training” work permits. Rep. Ilhan Omar continues to be an embarrassment and a disgrace for me and other American Muslims with her outrageous, ignorant, anti-Semitic and now anti-American comments. And while Omar, a Minnesota Democrat, holds herself out as a proud Muslim, she repeatedly projects a distorted and patently Islamist interpretation of Islam – a religion that in reality stands for the values of justice, peace and ethical conduct.Sadly, Omar gives millions of Americans a false impression of what Islam is and what we Muslims believe and stand for.

When Chief Justice John Roberts pompously admonished President Trump last year, making the preposterous claim that we “do not have Obama or Trump judges,” Carlton W. Reeves evidently failed to get the memo. This Obama appointee to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi is a textbook example of a partisan jurist who ignores the law and the will of voters as expressed through their elected representatives. Indeed, Judge Reeves has now escalated his activism by attacking the President and comparing him to a long line of white supremacist Democrats and their partners in the KKK.

Attorney General William Barr has promised to release a redacted version of the Mueller report this week. It will of course consume the political conversation for days, but even now it is clear that, as much as the report might be talked about, it will not settle the main arguments that have raged about the Trump-Russia affair for more than two years. Here are five debates that won´t be resolved, no matter how much of the report Barr makes public: 1. Collusion. On the face of it, Barr´s summary of Mueller´s conclusion could not be clearer:

After eight years of reckless expansion of the federal workforce under Barack Obama, Donald Trump vowed to downsize the wildly growing bureaucracy of Washington. In 2016, he promised to “cut so much your head will spin.” However, during the first two years of his presidency, there has been no significant effort to reduce the bloated federal payrolls. In fact, the federal government is the largest employer in the nation. Walmart, which has a presence in communities of all shapes and sizes, is the largest private employer in the nation with 1.5 million workers. Yet the number of Americans who rely

Hillary Clinton loyalists fed the FBI’s upper echelon an assortment of anti-Donald Trump criminal accusations during the 2016 campaign and his presidency, according to a string of interview transcripts released in recent weeks. James A. Baker, former FBI general counsel who participated on the receiving end, testified that the situation was “horrible” and “highly unusual.” At least 10 of Mrs. Clinton’s supporters directly or via middlemen told the bureau tales about Russia-Trump conspiracies. It appears to be an unprecedented effort by a presidential campaign and the party in power to count

It is fun to watch the left react to Trump’s suggestion that he might send migrants and asylum seekers to “sanctuary cities,” but their outrage may conceal the panic of the political fallout if Trump goes through with it, as he should. Anyone remember the Mariel Boatlift in 1980? That’s when Fidel Castro declared that anyone who wanted to emigrate to the United States was free to do so within a narrow window of time. Within days, 125,000 Cubans were en route to the U.S. Just where did that rickety fleet come from on such short notice?

“There are no second acts in American lives.” The line is F. Scott Fitzgerald’s and it is overused and demonstrably false as Tiger Woods proved on Sunday at the Masters. Fitzgerald probably would not appreciate the way his famous line has been turned into a cliché. He likely had intended it as one character’s brooding thoughts in a novel he never completed. Perhaps he had it mind for that character to experience a second act, disproving the gloomy aphorism. Maybe he was even imagining something like the resurrection of Tiger Woods in the Masters on Sunday.
