President Trump and first lady Melania Trump paid their respects to Pope Francis at the pontiff’s funeral on Saturday morning surrounded by a who’s who of world leaders and dignitaries.
The Trumps had a front-row seat to the services despite prior speculation that Vatican protocol would have them behind powerful archbishops, bishops, cardinals and reigning monarchs.
Trump, donning a navy suit and tie, and Melania, wearing a black lace ensemble, were flanked by Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Estonian President Alar Karis.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky proclaimed that his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the funeral for Pope Francis has the “potential to become historic”.
Zelensky met with President Trump in St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican after joining other world leaders in paying their respects to the Pope. A photograph of the meeting showed Trump and Zelensky sitting opposite each other in chairs within the grand sixteenth-century church. The meeting came amid increasing tensions between Washington and Kyiv, which has so far baulked at the peace deal framework laid out by Trump administration negotiators,

There was a time in the mid-1960s when two left-wing Columbia University professors — Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven — enjoyed a brief run of media celebrity by espousing a strategy for Democrats they believed could force the creation of an American welfare state based on a guaranteed annual income.
In a widely read article in the era's liberal flagship publication, Nation Magazine, the professors laid out their strategy as applied to the welfare state to illustrate the road to achieving all of the American left's ultimate economic, political and social goals:
"Widespread campaigns to register the eligible poor for welfare aid, and to help existing recipients obtain their full benefits,

They did it again: the Democrats got totally owned for taking the wrong side of an issue—this time involving judges who have broken the law. One New Mexico judge was arrested after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid at his home revealed that a reported Tren de Aragua member was living there. The second incident involved Judge Hannah Dugan, who was arrested for helping an illegal escape from immigration officers. They broke the law, you get arrested—this isn’t hard. But Democrats think that their judges are above the law.

On Friday, during a tense exchange on MSNBC, John Kerry lost his composure when a reporter confronted him with a question about the Obama administration’s failure to stop Russia’s annexation of Crimea. In 2014, Russia seized Crimea from Ukraine in clear violation of international law, and the Obama administration let it happen without lifting a meaningful finger.
Chris Jansing of MSNBC, speaking with Kerry at the Vatican ahead of Pope Francis’s funeral, began, “You were secretary of state when Russia annexed Crimea, and I want to ask you—” but Kerry quickly cut her off.
“But when they stated they were—” Kerry interrupted.

The immigration judge who issued the final deportation order that included a “withholding of removal” for Abrego Kilmar Garcia, the illegal immigrant and alleged member of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) who was deported last month by the Trump administration, previously volunteered to serve as the judge for a mock court session meant to train lawyers to defend illegal immigrants.
U.S. Immigration Judge David M. Jones was listed by the Maryland Pro Bono Resource Center, an organization partnered with the Maryland State Bar Association, on an event page for its “Representing Asylum Seekers Model Hearing” event held on February 20, 2020.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted a photo Friday night of the arrest earlier in the day of Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan by FBI agents for helping an illegal alien with a domestic violence case in her courtroom evade arrest by ICE agents last week. Patel captioned the photo, “No one is above the law.” (Photos) Mid-day Friday, Patel posted, deleted, then reposted an announcement of the arrest of Dugan:
Just NOW, the FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction — after evidence of Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration arrest operation last week.

The U.S. Department of Education announced Friday it has launched an investigation into the New York State Board of Regents to determine if the threat of withholding funds from schools with sports teams that continue to use Native American imagery and references violates civil rights laws. The announcement came after President Donald Trump took to social media to say the Massapequa school district should be allowed to keep its name and logo. The education department’s Office for Civil Rights will assess whether the state is discriminating against Native Americans on the basis of race and national origin by demanding Massapequa change the name and mascot of the "Chiefs" sports teams

Ashley Rindsberg, from whose stories I have riffed on before, has a great piece in Spectator Magazine about the COVID cover-up that adds a new twist.
Anthony Fauci, through a Harvard University intermediary, helped funnel money from the Chinese property company Evergrande to Harvard in February 2020. And that contribution was, quite surprisingly, part of a backdoor effort on the part of the Chinese to communicate with and influence Fauci and America's COVID response. On the morning of Sunday February 2, 2020, Anthony Fauci, then in the middle of putting together America’s pandemic response, received an unusual email with a highly unusual request.

Democrats were losing their minds on Friday over the arrest of Milwaukee Count Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan.
Dugan has now been charged with "obstructing or impeding proceeding before a department or agency of the United States," and "concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest."
Having already made the bad decision to wed themselves to Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Democrats were at it again, going to bat for the judge in this case. They attacked President Donald Trump, wildly calling it a "constitutional crisis," with even Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) saying they must fight against the government on the case with everything they have.

President Trump continues to assail the once-unassailable status quo on civil rights. The behemoth of federal civil rights laws may originate with the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but far too much of it has been invented by administrative agencies and courts. That should end — and it is a fight worth having.
The shift of a significant number of non-white voters into Trump’s coalition in 2024 can be read in many ways, but clearly one driver was the exhaustion of long-standing Democratic appeals to race-conscious remedies, premised as so many of them are on group identity and the notion that every disparity among groups in society reflects a deep conspiracy

Virginia Giuffre, the most prominent victim of late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, took her own life Thursday — just weeks after she made headlines for saying she had “four days to live” following a collision with a bus.
“It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia,” the 41-year-old’s family said in a statement to NBC News.
“She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.”
First responders found Giuffre unresponsive in her home near Perth, and local authorities said her death is being probed by Major Crime detectives,
