Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Wednesday suggested that Canada would drop its tariffs on U.S. goods if President Donald Trump eased up on his tariffs on Canadian goods. During an appearance with CNBC’s Ross Sorkin, he stated that the impending tariff war is “just going to hurt American jobs” and that Trump “said he was going to create jobs, create wealth, reduce inflation.” Sorkin asked whether Ford believed it was fair that Canada has “tariffs on a whole number of products.” Ford replied, “And we’d be willing to take those off tomorrow if he took all the tariffs off” and suggested that “China is the problem.”

That's great, Canada. You first. Lower your extremely high tariffs on U.S. Goods and I'm sure the President will see what he can do.

I am calling 'shenanigans' on Mr Ford. The tariffs will cause unemployment/underemployment in Canada to spike. If that happens their generous social programs will be severely underfunded. Like their 'vaunted' free healthcare. More people in the wagon, less people pulling it. This would hurt his chances at any election in the future.

Hamas is ready to release all remaining 59 hostages in Gaza in exchange for a permanent cease-fire with Israel, Palestinian officials said. As Israel ramps up its military campaign in Gaza, the terror group told negotiators it was prepared to free all its hostages so long as it gets assurance that Jerusalem will withdraw all its forces, a senior Palestinian official told the Times of Israel. It remains to be seen if the proposal will be accepted, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has long rejected any deal that does not include Hamas’ complete defeat, including demilitarization and its permanent exit from Gaza.

A Texas father is speaking out after his 17-year-old son was fatally stabbed during a high school track meet, telling Fox News his life is "destroyed." Austin Metcalf, a junior at Memorial High School in Frisco, was stabbed in the chest allegedly by 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, a student from another school. The altercation reportedly began as a seating dispute as the teams waited for the delayed competition to begin. "My son is gone, and he'll never come home again," Austin’s father, Jeff Metcalf, said Thursday on "America Reports."

What started as an innocent and fun track meet between several Texas high schools on Wednesday took a senseless and violent turn as one student stabbed another after an altercation over a seat in the stands. Austin Metcalf, a standout football star in his own right, was attending the meet and sitting in the stands. The fight broke out after a student from another school, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, was told he was sitting in the wrong place in the stands. Anthony brandished a knife and stabbed Metcalf in the chest. Metcalf's twin brother, Hunter, was also there and tried to save his brother.

Democrats know nothing if not projection, and it looks like their "Signal-gate" talking points are going to need some updating. As RedState reported, left-winger Jeffrey Golderg of The Atlantic was inadvertently added to a national security chat that discussed upcoming attacks on Houthi terrorists. But while those attacks went off without a hitch, Goldberg capitalized on his inclusion, publicizing it. That led to much gnashing of teeth from Democrats and the press, including calls for various administration officials to resign, including Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

Such a vote came strictly along party lines, which means Oz's opponent for the 2022 U.S. Senate election for Pennsylvania, now Sen. John Fetterman, voted against his confirmation. Oz was reportedly in the Senate gallery at the time he was confirmed. (X's)

A group of Republican senators voted along with Democrats on Wednesday for a resolution to undo President Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on Canadian imports, dealing an embarrassing blow to Trump. The resolution expresses the sense of the Senate and doesn’t have the force of law, but its 51-48 passage is unwelcome news for the president on the very day he announced a host of new tariffs. Four Republicans — Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Mitch McConnell (Ky.) — voted for the measure.
