WASHINGTON - Americans have a dim view of some of President Donald Trump's early barrage of executive orders, including his attempt to do away with so-called birthright citizenship and his decision to rename the Gulf of Mexico, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found.
Since taking office on Jan. 20, the Republican president has moved quickly to crack down on immigration and scale back the size of government, efforts that respondents to the three-day poll that closed on Sunday look on more favorably.
Overall, the poll showed 45% of Americans approve of Trump's performance as president, down slightly

Vogue launched a vicious review of Melania Trump's newly-revealed White House portrait, comparing the first lady's look to that of a magician.
The magazine spent four years fawning over the previous White House administration, featuring both Jill Biden and Kamala Harris on the cover several times each, and its latest piece on Melania reaffirms their preference for Democrats.
Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is a known Democrat - and was once even rumored to be considered for an ambassadorship under president Barack Obama.

It's sometimes hard to believe that this rube was one wayward coconut to the dome of Kamala Harris away from being the leader of the free world. But alas, here we are. Former vice presidential candidate Tim Walz (D) emerged from the shadows for his first nationally televised interview with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow.
And it seems Tim has a case of the sads. The Minnesota Governor lamented about losing the election and related to the feeling of "fatigue" amongst supporters when it comes to that loss.

Wednesday evening on Fox News' "The Will Cain Show," Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced that DHS will be suspending all grants to non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Noem told Cain that DHS had:
stopped all grant funding that is being abused by NGOs to facilitate illegal immigration into this country. So, it's amazing to me the hundreds of millions of dollars that have spent by the federal government, that has been sent to NGOs to facilitate this invasion of our country. So, I've taken action to stop those funds, to reevaluate them,

Bob Menendez, once a powerful US senator from New Jersey, cried as he begged a Manhattan judge for leniency Wednesday — and was sentenced to 11 years in prison for selling out his lofty post for gold bars, cash, a Mercedes-Benz convertible and other bribes.
“Your honor, you have before you a chastened man,” Menendez, 71, said before choking up.
“I have dedicated my entire life to the service of others,” he said, dabbing his eyes with a tissue. “I am far from a perfect man, but I believe in my half-century of public service, I have done more good than bad.”

A ban on numerous semiautomatic firearms — rifles and shotguns — passed the Colorado Senate Affairs Committee on Tuesday and is now headed to the Senate Floor.
The legislation is SB25-003, which targets firearms state Democrats define as a “specified semiautomatic firearm.”
SB25-003 says, in part:
The bill defines a “specified semiautomatic firearm” as a semiautomatic rifle or semiautomatic shotgun with a detachable magazine or a gas-operated semiautomatic handgun with a detachable magazine. The bill prohibits knowingly manufacturing, distributing, transferring, selling, or purchasing a specified semiautomatic firearm; except that a person may transfer a specified semiautomatic firearm to an heir,

Some people living in South Florida are reporting that family members who showed up to regularly scheduled appointments with immigration officers were detained on Monday in Delray Beach. Nearly a dozen people could be seen standing outside the parking lot of an office in Delray Beach called BI Incorporated, a company which according to its website, supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with operating the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program, an alternative to detention known as ISAP. Outside the immigration supervision office in Delray Beach, concerned friends and family members spoke to NBC6 on condition of anonymity. One woman said

In the Golden Age of Hollywood, studios kept a tight leash on their stars. No matter how bizarre, debauched, or anti-American the star was, the studio publicity departments ensured that the people who paid for movie tickets saw the stars as wholesome, intelligent, and patriotic.
After the debacle of Rachel Zegler’s solo press appearances for the new Snow White movie, one might think that Disney had learned that its actors aren’t safe when left to play on their own. But, noooo. This time, Anthony Mackie, the star of Disney’s newest Captain America movie, let the world know that he has nothing but disdain for America.

Former Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “The Reid Out” that Republicans were making it “safe to discriminate” by going after DEI.
Abrams said, “While Donald Trump may be the avatar, he’s not an outlier as long as the rest of the Republican Party suborn what is happening. Whether it’s Stephen Miller at the podium or a U.S. senator they are all agreeing to the premise of Project 2025. Which is they want to hoard opportunity and legalize discrimination. We have spent 248 years as a nation undoing our original sins, which include slavery, silencing women, denying native Americans their citizenship a whole host of challenges.

As reported earlier, former Democrat Senator Bob Menendez, 71, sobbed in court as he was sentenced to 11 years in prison for bribery and corruption.
A tearful Menendez sobbed as he begged SDNY Judge Sidney Stein to have mercy on him.
