As America prepares to transition to a new presidential administration, I want to take stock of the progress we have made together in laying the foundations for an economy that creates opportunity for all Americans. Over the last four years, we’ve faced some of the most challenging economic conditions in our history. Not only have we recovered, we’ve come out stronger, and have laid foundations for a promising new chapter in our American comeback story. It will take years to see the full effects in terms of new jobs and new investments all around the country, but

It’s been nearly two weeks since UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed in midtown Manhattan. Thankfully, his alleged killer, Luigi Mangione, 26, was captured after someone recognized him at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pa.
While the evidence all appears to confirm Mangione is the killer, in a lot of ways, it just doesn’t make sense why this kid, who grew up privileged and went to an Ivy League school and everything, would be driven to murder.

Trump attorneys Edward Paltzik and Alan Ostergren filed the 29-page lawsuit Monday in the Iowa District Court for Polk County, seeking a jury trial. They allege that the defendants, including Selzer, the Des Moines Register, which sponsored the poll, its parent company Gannett Co., Inc., and Tribune Company, engaged in “brazen election interference” to benefit Harris. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) on Tuesday announced that a grand jury handed up an indictment against suspect Luigi Mangione for the murder of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO.
Mangione faces 11 charges, including first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder.
The first-degree murder charge, which carries up to life in prison without parole, requires an aggravated factor. The indictment describes the alleged murder as furthering of an act of terrorism, casting the killing as an attempt to “intimidate or coerce” civilians and influence the policies and conduct of the government.

ABC agreed to a $15 million settlement and a $1 million payment to Trump's lawyers. At issue in the case was Stephanopoulos' insistence that Donald Trump was found liable for raping Carroll--which was not the case.
Here is the exchange that started it all. We can argue about how insane the case itself was--only a New York jury would have found Trump liable for something this absurd--but even assuming the verdict was reasonable, the jury specifically said that Trump did not rape Carroll.

Madison Police Department Police Chief Shon Barnes announced Monday evening during a press conference that officials have identified 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, who went by the name “Samantha,” as the shooter of Abundant Life Christian school.
On Monday morning Madison, Wis. authorities received a call at 10:57 a.m. from a second grade student at the Christian school reporting a shooting. In the fourth press conference of the night, Barnes revealed that authorities had officially identified Rupnow as the suspect, stating the 15-year-old had suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.

President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly considering privatizing the United States Postal Service (USPS), according to a report from the Washington Post.
Three people with knowledge of the matter told the outlet that Trump had been talking with Howard Lutnick, who Trump picked to serve as the Commerce Secretary, about carrying out an “overhaul” of the U.S. Postal Service.
While Trump’s plans regarding how he plans to overhaul the Postal Service were not “immediately clear,” one of the sources told the outlet that Trump had met with “a group of transition officials” and had requested their input on “privatizing the agency.”
