Donald Trump's Remarkably Normal Press Conference

At Mar-A-Lago yesterday, Donald Trump introduced Howard Lutnick, his pick to run the Commerce Department, and SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, who has pledged a $100 billion dollar investment in a tech-focused project that could see the hiring of 100,000 new American jobs. After Trump's comments on the economic future he foresees once he officially takes office on January 20th, he did something the American President has not been able to do for four years - conduct a press conference where the questions and questioners were not pre-selected by a very nervous White House Press Office.

Love the song at the end about Justin Trudeau. by Five for Fighting. We saw him in concert in a lovely small hall and he was great. I had no idea he was Canadian.

This is one of the most striking facts I have come across in a long time: US companies now account for 65% of the world’s total market capitalization. Via Stephen Moore’s Unleash Prosperity Hotline: No wonder all the traders on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange broke out in a “USA, USA, USA” chant when Trump visited last week. The HOTLINE has frequently reported on the rising global dominance of American stocks. The end of November marked a new milestone: US equities now represent over 65% of global market capitalization. Japan is number two at just 5.5%. China’s companies are about one-twentieth as valuable as U.S. firms.

It’s been nearly two weeks since UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed in midtown Manhattan. Thankfully, his alleged killer, Luigi Mangione, 26, was captured after someone recognized him at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pa. While the evidence all appears to confirm Mangione is the killer, in a lot of ways, it just doesn’t make sense why this kid, who grew up privileged and went to an Ivy League school and everything, would be driven to murder. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has something to say on that issue that the Democrats won’t be happy about. Adams bluntly described a disturbing trend he’s witnessed among young people

President-elect Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against pollster J. Ann Selzer due to her poll in the days before the election, which absurdly showed him trailing Vice President Kamala Harris by three points in Iowa. Trump attorneys Edward Paltzik and Alan Ostergren filed the 29-page lawsuit Monday in the Iowa District Court for Polk County, seeking a jury trial. They allege that the defendants, including Selzer, the Des Moines Register, which sponsored the poll, its parent company Gannett Co., Inc., and Tribune Company, engaged in “brazen election interference” to benefit Harris. Fox News first reported that Trump had filed the suit.

Pixar's original animated series Win or Lose will no longer include a transgender storyline in a later episode, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The series follows a co-ed middle school softball team named the Pickles in the week leading up to their championship game. Each of the eight episodes center on the off-the-field life of a character and their point of view, whether it be a player, a parent, a coach or an umpire. A spokesperson for Disney confirmed that the story arc was removed and provided the following statement to THR: “When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) on Tuesday announced that a grand jury handed up an indictment against suspect Luigi Mangione for the murder of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO. Mangione faces 11 charges, including first-degree murder and two counts of second-degree murder. The first-degree murder charge, which carries up to life in prison without parole, requires an aggravated factor. The indictment describes the alleged murder as furthering of an act of terrorism, casting the killing as an attempt to “intimidate or coerce” civilians and influence the policies and conduct of the government.

President Joe Biden‘s administration just agreed to a five-year extension to the science and technology sharing agreement with China. Established by President Jimmy Carter, the agreement has attracted increasing scrutiny in recent years because of China’s endemic use of U.S. scientific knowledge to bolster its military and intelligence services.Biden has made a bad decision by extending this agreement. The main problem here is that China views its access to U.S. science and technology through the fixed prism of one key interest:

Donald Trump sued ABC News and George Stephanopoulos over the "This Week" host's lies about the judgment against Donald Trump in the E. Jean Carroll case. ABC agreed to a $15 million settlement and a $1 million payment to Trump's lawyers. At issue in the case was Stephanopoulos' insistence that Donald Trump was found liable for raping Carroll--which was not the case. Here is the exchange that started it all. We can argue about how insane the case itself was--only a New York jury would have found Trump liable for something this absurd--but even assuming the verdict was reasonable, the jury specifically said that Trump did not rape Carroll.

The IDF air defense intercepted a ballistic missile fired by Yemen’s Houthis on Monday, setting off sirens across central Israel, the army announced at 3:23 p.m. The IDF added that the missile did not cross into Israeli territory. However, alerts were triggered due to the possibility of falling debris from the interception. While scientists have referred to its ideas as "dangerous" and a rejection of the scientific method, those criticisms have not stopped the Biden administration from ordering the federal government to consider "Indigenous Knowledge" when implementing rules and regulations.

Dozens of media outlets are reporting in unison that Donald Trump cannot stop the U.S. government from awarding birthright citizenship to the children of illegal immigrants. They claim this is the case because the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution requires it. In reality, the legislative history of the 14th Amendment is clear that it only grants birthright citizenship to the children of people who are legally and permanently living in the United States. This does not apply to the children of illegal immigrants, temporary residents, visitors, or tourists.
