If congestion pricing, now less than two months away from its new January start date, ever dies for good, it will have been tortured to death — by Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Hochul’s botch of the toll to drive into core Manhattan is so epic, you must wonder: Is she this bad at politics, or is she doing it on purpose?
Last Thursday, five months after her June “pause” on congestion pricing weeks before it was set to start, She now wants to start collecting cash from drivers entering Manhattan below 60th Street on Jan. 5.
She’s made superficially good changes:

President-elect Donald Trump confirmed Monday he would declare a “national emergency” to deport illegal migrants using military force once he steps back into office.
Trump made the statement on Truth Social, responding “TRUE!!!” in response to a post from Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton saying there are reports he would do so.
“GOOD NEWS: Reports are the incoming @RealDonaldTrump administration prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program,” Fitton wrote on the social media platform.

Donald Trump is not in power. He has more than 2 months till he takes power. Yet, the very resounding election of Donald Trump, along with a Republican victory in the Senate and House of Representatives, is already sending major shockwaves across the Middle East. Donald Trump will not necessarily bomb Iran. But he will most certainly bankrupt them, as Mike Huckabee says. That scares the living daylights out of Iran also. There is very little doubt about this.

Leftwing “Morning Joe” hosts and vicious Donald Trump critics Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski revealed Monday they had a “personal” sit-down with the president-elect in Florida to “restart communications” — after conceding that voters overwhelmingly made their choice.
The MSNBC co-hosts, who have repeatedly bashed the Republican on-air over the years, said they had a face-to-face with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Friday — their first meeting in seven years — after reaching out in the wake of his election win.
“Five years of political warfare has deeply divided Washington and the country.

Several people fired flares at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private home Sunday morning, igniting a fire next to it.
Shocking video of the incident shows the moment one of the two flares is fired at the house in Caesarea, landing in the yard and starting a fire beside a central air unit.
Three people were arrested in the incident, which occurred when the PM and his family were not at home.
It should not be “possible for the Prime Minister of Israel, who is threatened by Iran and its proxies who are trying to assassinate him, to be subject to the same threats from home,”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will be under the microscope when it comes to President-elect Trump’s most contentious Cabinet nominees, with senators watching closely to see if he will oppose confirming former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) as attorney general or former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence.
McConnell, who clashed with Trump and is leaving his leadership position in the new Congress, will turn 83 in February and is up for reelection in 2026. Crossing Trump could make his road to another term more difficult, but it’s also far from clear that he would seek another six years in the Senate.

The October 7, 2023 attacks carried out against Israel by Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists.... was the direct result of Tehran's ability to fund the terrorist movement to the tune of $100 million a year, an operation that would not have been possible without Biden's lenient attitude towards the ayatollahs.
Trump may come to see as well that, unfortunately, due to the deep-seated commitment of Iran's regime in exporting its brand of Islam, as enshrined in its constitution, there can be no real long-term peace in the Middle East without regime change, especially if Iran has nuclear weapons -- not to mention the global arms race that would follow such an event.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson will not attend the funeral of slain Officer Enrique Martinez on Monday — honoring the family’s wishes that politicians steer clear of the service.
Johnson initially planned to attend but made an about-face following backlash for failing to respect the grieving family’s request.
“The family of Officer Enrique Martinez continues to be in my prayers as they prepare to lay him to rest. I heard from the family and am honoring their request and will no longer plan to attend the honors funeral services,” his office said in a statement, according to NBC Chicago.

Many people are discussing who President Trump will appoint to two positions: (1) Director of the National Security Agency (NSA); and (2) The Director of the FBI. Without actually realizing it, both of these positions are fundamentally tethered.
The NSA Director is the librarian of the Intelligence Community. The NSA gathers, collects, intercepts and stores the metadata of every electronic transmission, including communication. The Director of the NSA is in charge of that massive responsibility to protect and guard the library.
The FBI Director is the chief customer of that library. On the domestic investigative side, the intelligence side, and the counterintelligence side of all FBI operations,

Congestion pricing leaves a bad taste in his mouth.
The owner of a New York City diner name-dropped by Gov. Kathy Hochul said she never comes by anymore — but he’s afraid her controversial $9 congestion toll can put him out of business.
Hochul repeatedly insisted Thursday she talks to regular folks at diners who support the new fee for drivers in Manhattan below 60th Street, but Comfort Diner owner Tarek Soliman said he hasn’t seen much of the politician after her 2022 gubernatorial race.

There is no moral or legal equivalence between non-violent mischief — such as tearing down flags and shouting racial insults — and committing life-threatening assaults upon people based on their religion and ethnicity. The anti-Israel rioters were hunting down Jews...
Muslim extremists have a long history of hurling spears in response to non-violent insults. Recall the numerous deadly attacks — shootings, stabbings, bombings and lethal fatwas—against those who allegedly insulted the prophet by picturing him or authoring books about him. There was also violence against those who burned Korans or otherwise demeaned Islam. Even cartoons provoked deadly responses.

On November 5, 2024, a gigantic red wave engulfed America, elevating everything politically red to great heights and largely obliterating everything politically blue in its path.
It’s been only a week since the presidential election, but let’s ask the following questions anyway:
WHAT DID RED GAIN?
The White House — Oval Office.
The U.S. Senate.
The U.S. House of Representatives.
The Electoral College.
The popular vote.
All seven swing states.
State governor majority.
State Legislature majority.
