On August 2, 2023, Tablet editor David Samuels interviewed David Garrow, author of Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama, a massive work that, as Scott explains, “puts every other biographer of Obama to shame.” This post reviewed Samuels’ statements in light of 10/7 and Iran’s more recent attack on Israel. In that context, Garrow’s comments are also of interest, particularly his outing of Dreams from My Father as a work of fiction. On page 538 of Rising Star, readers learn:
"Dreams from My Father was not a memoir or an autobiography; it was instead, in multitudinous ways, without any question a work of historical fiction. It featured many true-to-life figures

A New York judge ruled on Monday that the $175 million bond judgment against former President Donald Trump will remain intact despite New York Attorney General Letitia James's efforts to challenge it. James's legal team argued that the court should nullify Trump's reduced judgment of $175 million in his non-jury civil fraud trial. Her team raised concerns about the ability of Knight Specialty Insurance, the company behind the substantial bond, to actually pay the bond if necessary.
That's a rather curious position since she had asked for a much larger $370 million in damages — it's as if the entire point was to achieve a judgment that would be impossible

The American identity and national way of life stand on the brink of total disintegration, dependency, and slavery.
The machines of men and demons incrementally ratchet the gears tighter with each passing day, while the people of this nation have steadfastly ignored the warnings and alarms issued by the timeless Scriptures and wisdom of old. There is a great and terrible time of judgment quickly approaching that will overthrow what is left of the American way of life.
This nation is sound asleep. The shrewd and subtle ways of evil operate like a dimmer switch turned down on hundred-year increments so that no one notices until things are truly dark.

It's hard to believe that some conservatives are planning to vote for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but here we are.
Perhaps they still don't know that Kennedy is a radical leftist or that he picked a radical leftist as his running mate. I have no idea. They can't possibly be 100% aware of his policy positions because no genuine conservative could actually support RFK Jr. if they knew the entirety of his policy positions.
Whether these delusional conservatives can be convinced or not, I can't say, but I feel compelled to do everything I can to educate them about who they are planning to support. The latest revelation is a doozy.

The International Monetary Fund last week ripped the Biden administration’s out of control spending, calling it “out of line with what is needed for long-term fiscal stability.”
According to the New York Post, the IMF, an international organization aimed at fighting financial crises across the globe, warned that ever-growing national debt in the U.S. poses a long-term risk to the global economy.
“Something will have to give,” the IMF cautioned in foreword of the World Economic Forecast published on Tuesday.
“The exceptional recent performance of the United States is certainly impressive and a major driver of global growth,” the IMF said. “But it reflects strong demand factors as well,

Happy Tuesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) Ever since Joe Biden and his commie clown car puppet masters started occupying the Oval Office, tales have been told of an imminent domestic terror threat. The terrorist group that Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray have red-flagged as the greatest danger is known as "Trump Supporters."
Since these people have been in power, the threats and violence in the United States of America have been coming from pretty much everywhere except the oft-referenced white conservative males. Speaking for myself, I've never even attended a rightwing nutjob terrorist event.

Two people were killed and at least six others were injured in a block party shooting in Memphis, Tennessee, late Saturday, police said.
Police believe at least two people opened fire at the party, where up to 300 people were gathered, Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis said.
No suspects were in custody as of Saturday night, police said, and it’s unclear what led to the shooting.
Officers responded at 7:19 p.m. CT to the scene, where they found five victims with gunshot wounds, according to the Memphis Police Department. Three were taken to local hospitals and two male victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Multiple other gunshot victims arrived

Many Jewish Americans preparing to celebrate the Passover holiday are still mourning the tragic loss of their brothers and sisters in Israel, who suffered unspeakable crimes at the hands of Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7. Much trauma was relived last weekend when Israel suffered an unprecedented direct attack from Iran.
Regrettably, as time has passed since October, the Biden administration has increasingly chosen to sympathize less with the Israelis and more with those opposed to eliminating Hamas. The White House’s reaction to Iran’s attack, immediately urging Israeli restraint, was likewise troubling. President Joe Biden’s initial instincts displayed on Oct. 10,

Working for then Minnesota Senator Walter Mondale in the summer of 1969, I went to hear the late Allard Lowenstein speak to a large group of interns. Lowenstein was serving his only term in Congress before he was gerrymandered out of his district.
Lowenstein asked us to go back to our campuses, do our thing in opposition to the Vietnam war, and “eschew violence.” He said the word “eschew” several times, emphasizing its Anglo-Saxon roots. The derivation is more complicated than that, but Lowenstein’s emphasis on it is why I remember what he said. In 1980 Lowenstein was himself murdered by “a deranged acquaintance,” as

There wasn’t any woman a Kennedy wouldn’t take to bed. Mob boss girlfriend, communist spy, Hollywood actress, sister-in-law, widow, intern, whatever. And those are just the ones we know about. While the sex stories have died down with the passing of pants-less Uncle Teddy, the screwing continues in a different form: they now screw each other. No, not like that – they aren’t Ilhan Omar. They’re screwing each other in metaphorical ways, symbolic ways.
There was a time when the Kennedy family stuck together. It was an admirable quality, that loyalty, even though it didn’t apply to anyone who married into the family. Well, ok, loyalty

We are now roughly six and a half months from election day or election month, depending on your state’s election laws.
Today, we’ll focus on Joe Biden’s recent polling surge, as shown in the Real Clear Politics Poll Average of Trump vs Biden. You will note Trump is up over Biden by a whopping 0.4 percentage points. If we remove the possible outlier Rasmussen survey from the average, showing Trump at +8, Joe Biden would be ahead by 0.4. Republicans might be dismayed by this, and Democrats encouraged.
In January of this year, Trump was ahead of Biden by +4. Since then, the poll average

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D. Miss.), who chaired the House J6 Committee, introduced legislation that calls for President Donald Trump to lose his Secret Service protection if he’s convicted and sent to prison. Thompson fully understands that there is a strong likelihood that the current Manhattan hush money trial or the upcoming Georgia RICO trial, both of which are open partisan lawfare rather than justice, will see at least one felony conviction and prison sentence for Trump. In other words, this legislation is an almost explicit call for Trump’s assassination.
It’s been apparent since the get-go that the myriad criminal actions against Trump are a form of election interference. Each case
