Now that we've been told Trump is a lock for the Republican nominee, it's time to start playing "Who's he going to pick for VP?" This year's competition is especially high-stakes, since that person will essentially be the incumbent in four short years. Unless the Democrats swap out Biden for someone irresistible, and soon, Trump's ticket partner has a very real shot at being the 2028 GOP nominee.
Plenty of pundits are arguing that Nikki Haley is Trump's best choice. She checks various demographic boxes, she could help him win over suburban women and independents, and she brings in beaucoup donor bucks. Even people who love Trump and despise Haley

You know how when you put a TV on layaway at Walmart you pay them $50 each payday until you cover the entire cost of the TV so you can finally take it home and hang it in your living room, but when you go to Guns "R" Us and pay the first $50 for a pistol on layaway that they just let you have right then and you can pay the rest later?
Yeah, me either.
But according to New York congresscritter Dan Goldman (D-Naturlich), you can buy guns for your next shooting spree on "buy now, pay later" or what he calls "layaway" financing because, clearly,

As RedState reported, Fani Willis finally responded to the allegations that she hired the man she was having an affair with to be a special counsel in her office. For some reason, she decided to give her remarks in front of a black church congregation. In doing so, she interspersed claims of racial persecution with a total disregard for her moral and professional failures.
In other words, she's in full panic mode.
WILLIS: God, why don't they look at themselves and just be honest? I mean, they can't keep it a hundred with themselves?

President Joe Biden's connection to reality and truth has been tenuous at best...for years. His habit of lying about events in his own life — a disastrous kitchen fire, growing up in the Puerto Rican community, starting the civil rights movement at a black church in Delaware, etc. — in order to pander to his audiences has earned him a mountain of Pinocchios from the Washington Post.
Now, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the White House is taking up Biden's habit of telling untruths with a post about MLK. More specifically a bust of the civil rights leader, featured in a post on social media from the White House,

An illegal alien, accused of causing St. Johns County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Michael Kunovich’s death, says his “constitutional rights” have been violated and he is the victim of police brutality as well as racial profiling.
As Breitbart News reported, 19-year-old illegal alien Virgilio Aguilar-Mendez of Guatemala was arrested in May 2023 and has been charged with resisting an officer with violence and manslaughter in connection with Kunovich’s death.
Aguilar-Mendez’s defense attorney, Phillip Arroyo, told First Coast News that has threatened to file a federal lawsuit if St. Johns County prosecutors do not drop their charges against his client.
“Mr. Virgilio was a victim of police brutality.

Our GOP nominee, whoever he is – and it will be a “he” because the GOP base is never ever going to nominate that donor diva from 2004, Nikki Haley – must pick and publicize his administration immediately upon clinching the brass ring. My pal and fellow Salem pundit Hugh Hewitt recently made this same suggestion, citing the need to show that the next administration would be staffed with competent pros who would return America to prosperity and security while creating a corps of surrogates to raise dough and campaign in the event

Former President Trump made history on Saturday night with the final Iowa Caucus poll showing he has a massive, commanding lead over his GOP opponents.
According to the final Des Moines Register/Mediacom/NBC News poll of likely Republican caucusgoers, Trump holds a 28 percent advantage over the nearest challenger.
The former president has a rating of 48 percent, compared to Former ambassador and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley at 20 percent support. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sits at just 16 percent support. The two Republicans have fought neck and neck for second place since announcing their candidacy.

The story flew under the radar since there were scant details. We also have many pressing domestic problems, but the war in Gaza was raging, and the Thanksgiving holiday was also around this time. It’s easy for this story to have slipped through the cracks. That didn’t stop liberal America from framing this shooting as the ‘Islamophobic Crime of the Century.’
In November 2023, Jason J. Eaton, 48, shot and wounded three students of Palestinian descent in Burlington, Vermont. The crime was investigated as “hate-motivated.” Nothing was confirmed, but Joe Biden commented on it, along with other Democrats, despite zero confirmation that Eaton was fueled by anti-Muslim rage (via Axios):

As President Joe Biden’s immigration crisis overwhelms the United States and wreaks havoc on the state’s resources, confidential documents suggest the president’s open border policies were intentional.
The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) filed a lawsuit against Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS), claiming the agency halted the 287(g) program, which assists in the deportation of illegal migrant child rapists, attempted murderers, assailants, carjackers, and other known criminals.
In August 2023, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) revealed that the government ended the program in January 2021— right after Biden entered office. However, the compromised agency gave no reason why the government did that.

The Biden team has been limiting his contact with media for a long time.
As part of the new strategy that they're going to employ, they're going to have him out meeting the people more, and doing smaller podcast-type interviews. They think that's going to help sell him and get past the age problem.
That didn't work out very well when they ran him around to various stores in the Allentown, Pennsylvania, area and he looked very bad, and contradicted himself on the Houthis, and other subjects.
They also had him do a very short interview with historian Heather Cox Richardson,
