A new year is upon us, but instead of allowing America to enter it in peace, Joe Biden decided to make one final appearance to remind us all how terrible the last one was. Appearing with Ryan Seacrest, who was doing the live program for ABC News from Times Square, Biden's brain quickly turned to mush under the most basic questioning. At one point, he was asked what his favorite memories and highlights of 2023 were, which prompted him to talk about how jobs were shipped overseas. Don't try to figure it out. It's easier that way. To be sure, all Democrat politicians — as far as I can tell — are blatant hypocrites, completely devoid of self-awareness. That said, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is in a class of his own. Sunday, on CBS's "Face the Nation," Johnson's blatant hypocrisy and mind-blowing lack of self-awareness were on full display — in all of their magnificent idiocy. At issue was Texas Republican Gov. Johnson told host Margaret Brennan that Abbott was “determined to continue to sow seeds of chaos” by shipping illegals to his city. Donald Trump has made news by saying, in these Truth posts, that Joe Biden’s illegal open border policy is intended to generate fraudulent votes in the 2024 election: Those posts are classic Trump. Who else in our political history–at least since the first half of the 19th century–has talked that way? No one. But what about Trump’s specific claim that Biden has allowed millions of illegal aliens into the country so they can vote next November? It has caused a predictable amount of pearl-clutching on the Left. But will it really happen? No doubt some of them will vote. Ballot integrity varies widely from state to state.

PALM BEACH, Florida — Former President Donald Trump ripped Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration for allowing what Trump calls an “invasion” at the U.S. border with Mexico, something the former president likened to a “migration of civilization into our country.” Trump’s comments, which came during a two-hour-long exclusive interview at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Thursday evening, come as Biden’s administration has been involved in talks with Mexico to try to stem the tide of migrants flowing into the country. They also come as lawmakers in Washington seek an elusive deal that would fund more aid to Ukraine—a Biden administration priority—in exchange for border reforms that Republicans in the Senate want.

President Joe Biden derided inflation and the size of the federal government back in 1978, when he was a senator representing Delaware, according to an old newspaper advertisement obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. The ad, which ran in a Wilmington News Journal in October 1978 ahead of Biden’s reelection to the Senate that year, touts Biden’s commitment to reducing the federal budget and government largesse as key steps in taming the inflation that had hampered the American economy for most of the 1970s. It also quotes Biden as saying that “the spiralling (sic) costs of inflation are ripping into the fabric of American society.”

Maine’s Shenna Bellows issued a “decision” that declared Trump an “insurrectionist” and ineligible to be president. She joined an ignoble list of Democratic officials in states such as Colorado who claim to safeguard democracy by denying its exercise to millions of Americans. Yet the most striking aspect of this poorly crafted decision was not its litany of conclusory findings, but rather Bellow’s implausible suggestion that she struggled over the decision.

Ostensibly, its chief use is to keep money launderers and criminals out of banks. But "reputational risk" is an elastic term, and it is sometimes used to keep social undesirables out.
