Hunter Biden's indictment on tax charges in California throws yet another landmine into President Biden's path to reelection – as he continues to contend with low poll numbers and concerns within his own base about his age and the economy.
For much of the past year, pundits have focused on the extraordinary legal gauntlet Biden's nemesis Donald Trump must contend with – including a fraud trial underway in New York that could bring a verdict days before the Iowa Caucuses and a January 6-related trial set to begin the day before Super Tuesday.
Trump himself complained Thursday that prosecutors slow walked the investigations into him and

A little-known lawyer has the power to handle all of President Joe Biden’s financial and business affairs – and is linked to Hunter Biden’s shady Chinese business dealings, documents obtained by DailyMail.com reveal.
Mel Monzack, 83, a close friend of the President, has held Joe’s ‘power of attorney’ since 1987, allowing him to control POTUS’s bank accounts and sign financial documents on Joe’s behalf.
And DailyMail.com can now reveal that Monzack may also be also linked to Hunter Biden’s suspect dealings with Chinese oil giant CEFC - dealings that are now part of a new criminal indictment filed on Thursday.

After being left alone for the holidays, eight-year-old Kevin McCallister famously went grocery shopping in the 1990 classic "Home Alone," purchasing a large haul of food and everyday household items for under $20.
With today's prices, however, McCallister would need a lot more in his piggy bank and Americans are taking notice.
Items including a half gallon of milk, a half gallon of orange juice, a TV dinner, bread, frozen mac and cheese, laundry detergent, cling wrap, toilet paper, a pack of army men and dryer sheets cost the character, played by Macaulay Culkin,

The watchdog group Judicial Watch has done a deep dive into the voter rolls of Washington, DC and some other places and found an absolute mess.
In Washington, DC, eligible voters are registered at a rate of 131%, violating standards of basic math.
It’s probably just an oversight, right? It couldn’t be a problem of fraud or anything nefarious.

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz said that the rejection of the Hunter Biden plea deal has resulted in “much more information coming out to the American public” and not being “covered up by a deal that made no sense.” And called for the appointment of “a real special counsel” from outside the DOJ to look at President Joe Biden, “Because if it becomes just an impeachment concern, then half the country won’t believe it, half the country will.”
Dershowitz stated, [relevant remarks begin around 1:55] “Well, first of all, let’s remember who’s responsible for all of this coming out.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has hit back at Harvard President Claudine Gay's apology for her controversial congressional testimony on antisemitism.
Gay told the House Committee on Education and the Workforce on Tuesday that calls for a 'genocide of Jews' on Harvard's campus would only constitute harassment 'depending on the context.'
In an interview with the prestigious college's student newspaper, The Harvard Crimson, Gay apologized for the remarks and said she became caught up in 'policies and procedures'.

Los Angeles—If you’re a Democrat with money to burn and friends in high places, you can spend thousands on tickets to a fundraiser with President Joe Biden. If not, keep reading to see what you’re missing.
With an election year around the corner, Biden is accelerating his fundraising to prepare for an astronomically expensive campaign. (Think billions, not millions.) In this rarefied world, money equals access, and supporters regularly pay top dollar for a personal glimpse of the world’s most powerful man.
Biden is collecting cash across the Los Angeles area this weekend, and his first stop was a sprawling estate

House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said Friday on CNN’s “The Lead” that he believed Hunter Biden was indicted by federal prosecutor David Weiss on nine federal tax counts on Thursday to protect his father President Joe Biden.
Comer said, “What he got charged with, with that indictment last night, that had nothing to do with all of the so-called loans that the Bidens have taken. We’ve identified, it appears, with the president’s son and brother, over $14 million in loans where it doesn’t look like they made any payments on, principal or interest. And what point do those loans, if you’re not

United Nations— The United States vetoed a United Nations resolution Friday backed by almost all other Security Council members and dozens of other nations demanding an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza. Supporters called it a terrible day and warned of more civilian deaths and destruction as the war goes into its third month.
The vote in the 15-member council was 13-1, with the United Kingdom abstaining. The United States’ isolated stand reflected a growing fracture between Washington and some of its closest allies over Israel’s monthslong bombardment of Gaza. France and Japan were among those supporting the call for a cease-fire.

Billboards plastered with the phrase 'New York City Welcomes Immigrants' are popping up across El Paso, promising migrants that it's a 'sanctuary city.'
The signs have appeared around the Texas border city in the last few days on roadside announcements and on the sides of trucks.
A member of 'Concerned Americans,' the group behind the billboards, explained the messages are meant to let border crossers know New York, Chicago and San Francisco are open to having them in their community.

In 1983, the Reagan administration published a report titled “A Nation at Risk: The Imperative of Education Reform.” The report warned that the decay of American schools was threatening the country’s very survival. But the powerful amalgamation of teachers’ unions, state bureaucracies, and the Democrat establishment defeated the initiative. Committed to preserving the status quo, this special interest group became the guardian of American education, maintaining complete control of the education curriculum and using its position to subvert innovation in education. No surprise, this group enjoys the systematic support of the Democratic Party and the Biden administration.
