On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Israeli Government Spokesman Eylon Levy reacted to calls for humanitarian pauses by Israel by pointing out that, according to reporting by The New York Times, Hamas has ample supplies of fuel and other supplies for itself and calling on those pushing for a pause to demand Hamas release its own fuel.
Host Andrea Mitchell asked if Israel is concerned about the White House getting frustrated over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Levy said that Israel welcomes “the very solid support that we have received from President Biden, his moral clarity and material support as well, in explaining

Former President Donald Trump responded to the new gag order recently placed on him by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, calling it an “unthinkable” assault on his First Amendment rights.
On Sunday, Chutkan, who has been overseeing the case regarding Trump’s alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election in Washington, DC, reinstated a narrow version of the gag order that would bar the former president from making “public comments targeting prosecutors, court staff and potential witnesses,” according to the Associated Press.
The outlet noted:
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is presiding over the federal case charging Trump with plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 election, had temporarily

I am old enough to remember when conservatives decried “cancel culture” and the Left scoffed.
It wasn’t “cancel culture.” It was about holding people accountable.
You could use the wrong pronouns and lose your job because transphobia is literal genocide. Riley Gaines gives a speech at a university and is held hostage for hours, assaulted, and driven off campus the university administration expressed pride in the behavior of the students, not Gaines’ bravery. Professors could have their jobs threatened for discussing Halloween costumes, and they deserved it for being insensitive. Dissent from the orthodoxy that men belong in women’s sports or women’s prisons

“This machine cannot be stopped,” declared Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant earlier today. At the very least, Israel will not stop the IDF, now fully unleashed in Gaza, short of total victory. Instead, Gallant offered Hamas a different deal, which sounds remarkably like Hamas’ true ‘offer’ to the Israelis.
“Die or surrender” sums both up nicely, no? This is the same ‘deal’ that Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran have offered Israel for decades. It’s the same deal that the other Arab nations offered between 1947 and roughly 1979, too. For the last sixteen years, Israel has hoped that withdrawal from Gaza might moderate those enemies similarly as Egypt and Jordan moderated

Former President Donald Trump now leads his nearest Republican rivals by nearly 30 points in Iowa, with two-thirds of likely GOP caucusgoers dismissing the severity of his legal challenges, according to the second conducted by J. Ann Selzer.
The survey also finds former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley moving up to a tie for second place with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, both of whom remain popular with Iowa Republicans ahead of the Jan. 15 GOP caucuses.
Yet the poll shows Trump’s supporters are more enthusiastic and locked into their choice than Haley’s and DeSantis’ backers are, even as likely Republican caucusgoers are divided

The United Auto Workers (UAW) will end its strike against the Big Three as the labor union has reportedly reached a tentative agreement with General Motors (GM). The UAW had, in the last few days, reached similar deals with Ford and Stellantis.
On Monday morning, reports circulated that the UAW had reached a deal with GM. According to details available, the deal mimics many components of the union’s deal with Ford, where base wages will increase 25 percent through April 2028.
Likewise, the deal reinstates benefits that GM’s auto workers have not enjoyed since the Great Recession, such as cost-of-living allowances, a three-year wage progression, and an elimination of wage tiers

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and Shin Bet, the country’s internal security services, for rescuing Monday a female soldier who was kidnapped by Hamas during the Palestinian terror organization’s unprecedented attack on the Jewish state earlier this month.
“Last night, our forces liberated Pvt. Ori Megidish from Hamas captivity. Ori was abducted on the black morning of October 7th. Welcome home Ori!” Netanyahu said in a statement. “I commend the ISA and the IDF for this important and moving achievement, which expresses our commitment to bring about the release of all the hostages,” the prime minister added.
Netanyahu also reaffirmed the IDF’s commitment to destroying Hamas,

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas.
“Israel will not agree to a cessation of hostilities after the horrific attacks of October 7,” says Netanyahu in comments in English to the foreign media. “Calls for a ceasefire are a call for Israel to surrender to Hamas, to surrender to terror, to surrender to barbarism. That will not happen. Ladies and gentlemen, the Bible says that there is a time for peace and a time for war. This is a time for war.”
Netanyahu says nobody would have called on the US to agree to a ceasefire following

First the Washington Post, then the New York Times went after the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, one year after techno-entrepreneur Elon Musk purchased it and shone a light on the previous regimes squelching of conservative voices in favor of liberal “blue checks” and other anointed ones, and possibly swinging the 2020 election to Democrat Joe Biden (see “Twitter Files”). Reporters Steven Lee Myers, Stuart Thompson, and Tiffany Hsu collaborated on the “interactive” online project “The Consequences of Elon Musk’s Ownership of X.” (At least the Times only needed three reporters to conjure up fear and loathing against Musk and X; the Post required four.)

President Joe Biden’s economic favoritism for his wave of illegal migrants is splitting his much-needed electoral base, TheHill.com admits.
The conflict is at a “fever pitch,” say Democrats and business lobbyists, according to the article, which is written by a Mexican-born resident alien:
“The narrative out there has been somewhat distorted to present the picture where it looks like new immigrants are living in plush conditions. That’s not the case. They’re undergoing very difficult conditions,” said New York Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D).

The mother of Shani Louk, an Israeli-German woman thought to have been kidnapped by Hamas fighters at a music festival in Israel, says her daughter is dead.
Speaking to German media, Ricarda Louk said she had been told by the Israeli military that a DNA sample taken from part of a skull bone proved to be Shani's.
Her body has not yet been found.
Shani's sister also confirmed the death on social media. Adi Louk wrote on Instagram on Monday that Shani had been killed in the "massacre at Re'im" - a reference to the attack staged by Hamas in southern Israel, near the Gaza Strip, on 7 October.
But it was not clear

Israeli forces appear to be advancing in two directions on Gaza City, according to reports in the Hebrew media, statements from Hamas and Palestinian witness accounts.
In the north of the Gaza Strip, Israeli armour was operating close to the Mediterranean coast, while Hamas said it was engaged in “heavy fighting … with the invading occupation force” in northern Gaza.
Separately, witness reports from inside Gaza described Israeli tanks cutting the main north-south Salah al-Din road south of Gaza City and operating on the outskirts of the Zaytun and Shuja’iyya neighbourhoods of Gaza City. Describing an increased tempo of urban fighting,
