The governor of Texas wins again

Back in the COVID days of "masks," Governor Abbott opened up Texas and things got back to normal by the end of 2020. Nevertheless, some county leaders decided to enforce their own mask mandates and challenge the governor directly. In the end, the governor prevailed in the Texas courts: Settling a heated pandemic-era debate between Gov. Greg Abbott and leaders of the state's major urban areas, the Texas Supreme Court ruled Friday that the governor had the legal authority to forbid local officials from requiring residents to wear masks in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Had the Mayors/County Commissioners of these Democrat cities and counties used common sense and good judgement......rather than bow to their political betters in DC? This decision from the Texas Supreme Court wouldn't have been needed.

As it was and still is, the requirement to wear masks or forcibly shut down schools, churches and restaurants anywhere has no legal backing. We knew back then it was fear-mongering and interference with peoples' rights and the economy. The voluntary cooperation of the sheeple had petty dictators like Gretchen Whitmer salivating.

Masks, smasks- what is most important is the southern border. Wlhen you watch Ben Bergquam's excellent series. "Law and Border" (I watch online), you learn that there are people coming from all over the world to settle in America - easily over one hundred different countries. How does that effect the school system? I would think a lot of keeping order is going on and not much educating. Well, one of our politicians was quoted as saying, "There is no such things as American excellence". Someone or ones are definitely getting that done.

The whole pandemic was a fiasco. This guy Faucci running amuck. He started the experiment with the flu, was told it was too dangerous for the US and sent his experiment to China, along with money to pay for it. The democrats and China loosed this flu on the public to get rid of Trump and thousands of people died. and now Faucci is rich as a tick and teaching at Georgetown instead of pondering his sins in a prison cell.

Bravo, #6! These petty tyrants in the demonrat socialist marxist controlled cities did their best to seize POWER. Even though Faucistein said ON RECORD years ago that "masks don't work" the absurdity of the hysteria took over calm and reason. People were being FORCED to comply with getting shots to keep their jobs, and now years later, we find out what we KNEW ALL ALONG and that was that Faucistien and the "Scarf Queen" knew they were LYING and that the vaccines in many cases had side effects that in many cases KILLED people! Even MORE backstory is revealing itself when Senator Rand Paul NAILS the fact that the Wuhan lab was doing "gain of function research" paid for you YOUR US taxpayer dollars at the behest of NoBama as a black budget option! Where here are liberals running City and County governments, there is mismanagement and outright corruption and lawbreaking or ignoring of statues-- Time to remove these little dictators running them

France is on fire again. For over a week, rioters in urban centers across the country have looted and torched stores, public buildings, and vehicles. French law enforcement has cracked down on the destruction, arresting thousands of the rioters. The death of Algerian 17-year-old Nahel Merzouk triggered the riots, after police shot him. The corporate media have done their best to stress that Merzouk was a generally good kid who didn’t have a criminal record, liked to play rugby, and was studying to become an electrician. Yet he attended a school for troubled kids.

Many factors have contributed to the downfall of America’s schools. One rarely discussed issue is the disproportionate praise heaped on the teaching industry, which has led teachers to believe the scope of their influence ought to extend beyond the teaching of facts and figures. As a society, we have praised teachers to the extent that even mild criticism of the profession is met with a chorus of boos. “My sister is a teacher!” When discussing widespread problems in the profession, instead of presenting an actual argument, those who reflexively defend the industry will often mention having friends or relatives who are teachers, as if this anecdotal tidbit is a meaningful response.

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is trying to put one over on America. In her dissent from the high court’s long-overdue ruling against racial preferences in college admissions, she cited an utterly bogus statistic. For high-risk Black newborns, having a Black physician more than doubles the likelihood that the baby will live,” she wrote in rationalizing Harvard’s bigotry against Asian-American applicants. Yet that black-infant mortality number is obvious bunk. If it were true, it would mean thousands of black infants dying every year thanks to white doctors’ secret racism. But the actual survival rates are 99.55% for black infants, 99.68% for white ones.

Of late, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) have come under fire from nearly all corners of Congress. More than fifteen legislative proposals have been filed on changing the way PBMs operate, while six committees in Congress have convened hearings on the topic. Will all this attention lead to a good outcome for patients and taxpayers, many of whom have never even heard of the term “PBM”? It’s possible, but only if Congress takes care to enact free market reforms that boost visibility on PBMs’ pricing practices, rather than tipping the scales in favor of heavy-handed government regulators.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s government abruptly collapsed on Friday amid infighting over migration policy. Rutte, who’s led the Netherlands since 2010, effectively brought his fourth administration to an end after he gave his coalition partners an ultimatum to limit the right to family reunions for refugees from war zones. The coalition partners — Rutte’s VVD, the Christian Democrats, progressive D66 and the smaller Christian Union — had been in talks over asylum policy for weeks. Though they were close to a deal, the conflict escalated Wednesday when Rutte abruptly introduced non-negotiable demands. The troubles snowballed from there.

Native American groups are now joining the call for reparations centuries after hundreds of tribes had land taken from them by 'land-grab universities and colleges.' An estimated 10.7 million acres of land was taken from 250 tribes following the signing of the Morrill Act by President Abraham Lincoln in 1862. Institutions such as the University of Minnesota, which received 94,440 acres of land, and Cornell University in New York that received more than 987,000 acres are being targeted.
