My field of study in graduate school was communism. As a fellow at the Russian Institute of Columbia’s School of International Affairs, I was, if I remember correctly, one of seven students in the entire university to major in what was known at the time as “Communist Affairs.”
I cite this in order to make this point: In my wildest dreams, I never imagined what I was studying would ever apply to the United States of America, the freest country in world history.
I assumed that communism was, for various reasons, something that happened elsewhere — most obviously, Russia, China, Vietnam, Cuba, Cambodia and North Korea.
What were those various reasons?

Although I have respect for Mr. Prager's personal integrity, I have to wonder if he has ever stopped to ask the question, "Who has been responsible for this sea change in America?" Who are these people he characterizes as "communists"? Again, one does not accidentally become a communist; it requires an act of will. However, to ask the question is now deemed "racist," or "anti-semitic." But the answer can be ascertained with even the smallest amount of effort. The changes in our culture, our politics, or very societal composition did not happen by accident, nor did they arise organically; they were engineered by people who intended the result we now see. The identity of those people can easily be found. It is like the question of violence in America. "Violence" does not occur in a vacuum; it is perpetrated by people, and the question must be asked, "Who is perpetrating the violence?" Again, the answer is not difficult to find, but there are those who wish to deny it and obfuscate the truth in favor of a lie in order to further cement their control over the rest of society. A society built on lies is doomed. Only the truth will set things aright. Seek the truth.

Why is it happening? It’s because of forty years of indoctrination in our universities and politics becoming a profession, all aided and abetted by a corrupt media filled with those previously indoctrinated boobs. This has lead to seeking power and that leads to money! Everyone wants a piece of the pie and as much of it as they can grab from Obama's, the Biden’s s , and the Pelosi's to The Grand Commie, Bernie Sanders. I won’t live to see it, but if things don’t change, like ending funding to universities and even lower education, there will be a revolution that will end the liberal media’s grip on our country. It’s all about the money and there’s a lot of it out there to be taken for the asking.

Another excellent article that explains the reason we are where we are today but, once again, offers no solutions. Please, Americans are begging you, tell us if you have any idea how to combat this nightmare in which we find ourselves. Winning the 2024 election is not guaranteed considering the blatant cheating that democrats have used successfully in the past. As sure as the sun rises in the east, democrats already have a plan to cheat and with no recourse in the Courts to provide justice, it is pretty much a done deal they will prevail. Apathy by some Americans along with outright betrayal by the GOPe is enabling democrats. The abandonment of the rule of law by the DOJ leaves us hamstrung. It’s looking pretty darn grim and it is clear this country can’t save itself. We have to have smart courageous men and women who understand who the enemy is, what we have to sacrifice in the fight, and the unthinkable consequences if we are not successful. The task is monumental. Are we up to the challenge of saving our beloved Republic or will fear and self-preservation prevail? Is the fight too high a price to pay? Will we have the courage to save what our founding fathers created when they declared, “We pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor." Time will tell. My heart says yes, but my head tells me most Americans believe that is too high a price to be paid. Democrats know this and it is what spurs them on to fundamentally transform the country. It is said, you never know what you had until you lose it and then it is too late. Is it too late for America? God help us preserve the Republic.

Mr. Prager, you are acting like Captain Obvious here. So, what are you suggesting that you and we do while America continues to circle the drain fast and faster? Or have you resigned yourself to believe that Amerika is here for good. Come clean, Mr. Prager. Where to from here in your humble opinion?

I would identify the cause of the country's demise, it is obvious, but I would be called a racist, misogynist xenophobe.

Having lived behind the Iron Curtain for a few years in the early 80’s and experienced communism first hand, I also thought that it could never happen here. Though I did have an inkling that there were Americans who would go along with it - there was a very liberal couple who were teaching at a university in Romania and living on the local economy, meaning that they had to stand in food lines to find anything at all to eat and that there two room apartment had no heat in the winter. We thought that the hardships of living under communism would open their eyes but they went back to America unchanged in their leftism. There are none so blind.
I blame all of this on my generation and the hippies who started the great 60’s rebellion. They are the ones who are now in power in DC and the blue State Houses. They are the remnants of the Berkeley Free Speech Movement who want to shut everyone up now that they are holding the reins. Scratch a democrat, find a totalitarian.

If one considers government a criminal enterprise, everything we are seeing starts to make sense. Not just in our own nation, but worldwide as well. Communism is the preferred type of government for criminals all over the world. Consolidate power in one place, criminals take over, and the criminal element of society has essentially stolen everything.

Actually it's happening in NY and Cali with splotches here and there like Portland and Seattle.
The Republic of Texas approaches.
Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, S Dakota, N Dakota, Montana, Alberta (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), and a few states along the sides. Let's go EAST. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida.
We have every shipping port in The Gulf of Mexico and half the Atlantic and more oil than the Saudis ever dreamed of.
California and New York can print their own money. If they want to trade they can use Panama. We WILL protect our borders ,north, south, east, and west.
If you're coming to visit Texas bring your US passport with the pre-approved visitor's visa.

As a resident of Texas, #8, I find Texas is as "communist" as the rest of America.
America is too prosperous. Our impoverished live at a high standard by international standards. Take a trip to Africa or Asia, Central or South America, the Caribbean...see for yourself how oppressive REAL poverty is. Prosperity breeds a sense of entitlement, and the children of the middle and upper classes put that on excessive display regularly. Parent(s) support their sloth and play. Our educational institutions have become industries, taking in money while issuing degrees with zero attached to them but a class tie...expected to bring well-paying employment while preparing too many for careers as wait staff or baristas. Our society is based on the lowest common denominators. If you can stomach, watch any "awards" program to see the "bes"t on offer. Oh, the social injustice of it all!

Communist insurgencies cannot be dealt with by negotiating; they must be terminated by force of arms. Where has that not proven to be so? I believe it is the whimpification of American citizens, who have come to rely on the myth of non-politician political "warriors" who will "fight" for them and our collective freedoms, that has failed to abate the steady slouch towards totalitarianism of the communist flavor. Like during the American revolution, a different kind of leadership is required to preserve our constitutional republic. George Washington was a military leader before becoming a model president. It's quite possible that our political institutions will prove wholly inadequate in repelling and defeating communism. New laws and politicians aren't the answer; communism and its stealth advocates require a 'stake in the heart' to cease being a threat to our way of life. A population that knowingly sits idle while the lifeblood of industry that fuels our way of life, hydrocarbons, are banned by leftist fanatics who only scheme for power and more power, is destined to give way to communism. Further, the importation of third-world leftists from communist countries. south of our border and from the Chinese mainland only hastens the demise of the Land of the Free.

When I came home from Viet Nam I noted that many universities, the Press and lots of other agencies were run by Communists...and it has gone steroids since then!

If America falls, so will the rest of the freedom-loving countries. Our failure to remove the Cancer that was plaguing our American Heritage decades ago has reached its terminal stage. Divine Intervention is our only hope. .....a wishful thinking.

Yes and yes.
#'s 3, 6, and 10 understand. I never understood how it could happen here until I read 'Journey into the Whirlwind" by Eugenia Semyonovna Ginzburg!! Insidious. An indispensable read....especially from a woman's point of view! It's likely that things will need to get much worse before we see light at the end of the tunnel....
