Can the chaos from Silicon Valley Bank’s
fall be contained?

NEW YORK — Can Washington come to the rescue of the depositors of failed Silicon Valley Bank? Is it even politically possible? That was one of the growing questions in Washington Sunday as policymakers tried to figure out whether the U.S. government — and its taxpayers — should bail out a failed bank that largely served Silicon Valley, with all its wealth and power. Prominent Silicon Valley personalities and executives have been hitting the giant red “panic” button, saying that if Washington does not come to the rescue of Silicon Valley bank’s depositors, more bank runs are likely this week. “Either deposits in the U.S. are safe or they’re not.

As I see it, they have no choice but to come to the aid of those with deposits that are insured. That's what FDIC does. For the uninsured,? well that is the question. Should they bail out the Billion dollar depositors.? I don't know if they should or not, but I would bet that they will. The Billion dollar depositors are their biggest political donors.

I am replying to myself. ( # 1 ) SV bank failed due to run started by a tweet by PeterTheil ( co - founder of PayPal ) who told investors to pull their money. SV bank has bad management . While spreading out your money is a good idea , the depositors are not responsible for the bad actions of the bank officers. Other banks with sterling credit and excellent management can suffer for no real reason other than herd mentality.

If we could all stick together and not file any income tax returns for the year 2022 until we got some response from our government that our tax money could only to be used within the bounders of the United State. They can't jail all of us, or can they?

A giant seaweed blob so large it can be seen from space is threatening to transform beaches along Florida’s Gulf coast into a brown morass, scientists say. The 5,000-mile-wide sargassum bloom — believed to be the largest in history at twice the width of the continental US — is drifting ominously toward the Sunshine State, NBC News reported. “It’s incredible,” Brian LaPointe, a research professor at Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, told the news outlet. “What we’re seeing in the satellite imagery does not bode well for a clean beach year,” he added. The thick algae mats are mostly harmless as they drift between Africa’s western coast and

Former President Donald Trump is intensifying his attacks on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, calling him disloyal and saying that his political career would have been over had he not endorsed his ultimately successful 2018 campaign. “He was dead as a dog, he was a dead politician. He would have been working perhaps for a law firm or doing something else,” Trump told a small group of reporters aboard his plane on Monday afternoon en route to Iowa, where he was to make an appearance that evening. Asked if he regretted endorsing DeSantis for governor in 2018, Trump responded: “Yeah maybe, this guy was dead. He was dead as a doornail.

The past few weeks has proven that the freedom of speech enshrined under the First Amendment is under assault by our government. Independent Journalists Matt Taibbi and Michael Schellenberger‘s March 9 testimony before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government revealed just how determined Democrats in Congress are in silencing any speech that they do not agree with and any platform that chooses to disseminate said speech. Both Taibbi and Schellenberger are progressive Democrats who voted for Joe Biden. Yet, because they hold the First Amendment and truth as a higher standard than political agendas and allegiances, they have been maligned and targeted as disinformation agents.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said in a tweet Monday that the Biden administration refused to commit to not bailing out Chinese companies that invested in Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) with American taxpayer money. “It’s well known that SVB funneled American money into Chinese companies,” Cotton tweeted. “I pressed the Biden administration today to commit not to bailout Chinese companies with money from Arkansas’s taxpayers, but they refused. Which tells you that’s exactly what President Biden plans to do,” he said. Silicon Valley Bank had supported many start-up companies, including those from China, according to a CNBC report.

Former President Donald Trump’s policies at the United States-Mexico border helped deter illegal immigration, while President Joe Biden’s policies are encouraging record-setting inflows, a new study suggests. The study, conducted by Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, compares the size and scale of migrant caravans under Trump versus those that have arrived under the Biden administration. Trump’s policies, which included the Remain in Mexico program, eliminating the Catch and Release process, and imposing the Title 42 public health authority, served as a deterrent for border crossers and illegal aliens, the study found.

The U.S. government may have made duplicate payments for projects at labs in Wuhan, China, through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), according to records reviewed by CBS News. "What I've found so far is evidence that points to double billing, potential theft of government funds. It is concerning, especially since it involves dangerous pathogens and risky research," said Diane Cutler, a former federal investigator with over two decades of experience combating white-collar crime and healthcare fraud. Cutler found evidence of possible double payments as she investigated U.S. government grants that supported high risk research in China leading

The hits just keep on coming for Due Diligence Group, the Democrat-aligned group that has been found to have requested the military records of Republican political candidates. Congressmen Don Bacon of Nebraska and Zach Nunn of Iowa already learned that the group sought their Air Force records without their consent. Now another person has come forward. Abraham Payton of Due Diligence Group sought the National Guard records of New York Assemblyman Colin Schmitt last summer when he was running for Congress. The group was definitely up to more activities of this type and we almost certainly do not have the full list of victims yet. (Politico)

Ride-sharing apps, including Uber and Lyft, can continue to treat their drivers as independent contractors, a California appeals court ruled on Monday, overturning a lower-court decision that barred them from doing so. In Nov. 2020, California voters approved Proposition 22, which allowed ride-sharing and delivery app makers to classify their drivers as independent contractors. A California judge ruled the proposition unconstitutional in 2021, arguing that it infringed the legislature's power to set standards at the workplace. The state and a group representing the companies and other parties appealed that decision, and Monday's ruling came down in their favor.

U.S. regulators are planning to try again to auction failed Silicon Valley Bank, after they were unable to find a buyer over the weekend, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter. Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC) officials told Senate Republicans that they had additional flexibility to sell the firm now that SVB's failure had been declared a threat to the financial system, the report said. That could help regulators offer potential buyers deal sweeteners such as loss-sharing agreements, the report added. This morning, Joe Biden addressed the bank collapses, including Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. As we reported on Sunday, the Federal Reserve Board assured depositors that they would have full access to their money on Monday. The purpose of that move and Biden’s speech was to try to assure Americans that the banking system was safe. “You can have confidence that the banking system is safe,” Biden said during his remarks. “Your deposits will be there when you need them.” That’s what he needed to say. But then, because he’s Biden he just can’t leave things alone and stick to reality. “I am going to ask Congress

Stanford University has apologized to a Trump-appointed judge who faced an embarrassing protest by a woke student mob - joined by the school's dean of 'equity' - after he was invited to speak at the college's Law School. Judge Kyle Duncan, from the fifth circuit of appeals, was ambushed by associate dean of equity, diversity and inclusion Tirien Steinbach during a discussion Thursday night. Steinbach - a former ACLU lawyer who previously defended free speech - initially claimed Duncan had a right to express his views. But she then launched into an impassioned six minute speech - which she had written down - condemning his life's work.
