TONOPAH, Nev.— The Nye County Commission is used to dealing with all sorts of hot-button controversies.
Water rights, livestock rules and marijuana licenses are among the many local dramas that consume the time of the five commissioners in this vast swath of rural and deeply Republican Nevada. Last spring, it was something new: voting machines.
For months, conspiracy theories fueled on social media by those repeating lies about former President Donald Trump’s loss in 2020 inflamed public suspicions about whether election results could be trusted. In response, the commission put a remarkable item on its agenda: Ditch the county’s voting machines and instead count every vote on every ballot —

" For months, conspiracy theories fueled on social media by those repeating lies about former President Donald Trump’s loss in 2020." I wonder what lies Sam is referring to?

Hand counting of election ballots is quite easy for federal elections, and can be used nationally. But hand counting of state and local elections, with dozens of open positions and propositions, is endlessly complex.
The answer? Separate ballots for federal and non-federal elections.

AP, they're not "Election conspiracies," but Democrat dirty tricks which have been used to steal elections for DECADES. Joe Kennedy, Sr. BOUGHT his son's election to President thanks to the Democrat machine in Chicago.

OH NO!
Paper ballots? Count votes by hand? Like we did for nigh on 200 years? It's a THREAT TO OUR DEMOCRACY.

My home town uses the best (IMHO) voting technlogy. Voters are given a sturdy, legal-sized ballot. Each voting booth has felt tip markers used to mark your votes. The voter inserts the ballot into the counting machine, which scans the ballot immediately. If a mistake, such as voting for two candidates for the same office, is made, the counting machine immediately spits out the spoiled ballot and the voter can exchange it for a new one.
Results are produced immediately. If a recount is required, the paper ballots are there for a hand recount. It's genius. Why doesn't everyone use this tech?

From Sam’s online bio…
Sam is a soon-to-be 31-year-old Bekeley grad from dysfunctional big-city Chicago, and an experienced left-wing protester.
By AP standards, the perfect commentator on rural Nevada politics, having overflown the area at 35,000 feet probably more than once.

Elections in France are done using paper ballots which are then hand counted. Results are available within hours.

To #6, "Why doesn't everyone use this tech?" You answered your own question. Damn hard to cheat with your method and cheating is all the Democrats have left. In Washington State here, It's been all mail in ballots all the time, and with a with no term limits on the Governorship, there will never be a republican Governor or Legislator ever again. (A.K.A. California North)

They should announce how many people are registered to vote by city and county
They should then announce how many ballots were issued by city and county
All ballots have unique number associated.
All drop boxes should be set up exactly like an ATM machine (with camera, and only 1 envelope is allowed through the scanning slot at a time)
Only ballots with envelope will be counted by ATM-style drop boxes
Make sure the voter rolls are up-to-date, and have the cut-off for registering to coincide with the date candidates have to declare/file to be on the ballot.
This will enable everyone enough time to ensure the voter rolls are as up to date as possible, and any registration changed or new between that time will be provisional only.

Voting machines from a large well-known company beginning with "D" come preprogramed by about 1% to favor Democrat candidates and Democrat favored initiatives and referendums. Hand counting of ballots would end this.

The AP labels the questioning of the 2020 election counts as "unfounded", but does not provide any evidence of it. That is just a blank dismissal, an opinion, not a review of the election count. And don't throw in recounts, as they never remove the illegal ballots, which is one of the issues.

While you’re at it; anyone caught in the area where votes are being tallied after quitting time, goes to jail…no excuses…jail time mandatory!
