Progressive America is the Twilight Zone

The dilapidating state of our culture, institutions, and politics (the order is deliberate) have been decades in the making. Blame Boomers -- the culture definers among them -- for getting the ball rolling downhill in the highly romanticized lied about 1960s. They spawned the decadent counterculture, which set in motion every society-rotting development we’re grappling with today. Bill and Hillary Clinton are the aging avatars of counterculture radicals who turned into establishment exploiters. Real Clear Politics’ average for “Direction of Country” polls is currently an eye-popping wrong track, 70.7%, while right direction stands at a paltry 22.4%. Other than D.C. lifers, welfare moochers,

To quote Rod Serling in the Twilight Zone episode Obsolete Man: "Logic is an enemy and the truth is a menace." We will face a trial where telling the truth and standing up for what's right will have us sentenced to death.

Okay; what can this 75-year-old do about it except vote? Considering my vote went for naught last November, what else can I do? My wife and I considered moving to Mexico to her home village where we’ll be far enough away from any narco corridor and live peaceably in our final days. Never before, would I have imagined coming to this point in life.

That was depressing. I rarely believe polls - but I know Democrats cheat and have been longer than just 2020. It’s going to take all of us to turn this ship around. It will most probably be brutal.

Stop blaming the Boomers! The Boomers did not start the ball rolling down the proverbial decadent counterculture hill. The Boomers were products of the Greatest Generation and the Greatest Generation were the products of the Lost Generation, so surely THEY ALL must share the blame as well if we're going down that path. But I call bee ess. The blame starts and ends with THE CURRENT GENERATION and their bottom-line, blind acceptance of political correctness.

I'm part of that generation of baby boomers, but don't blame me for the garbage that started the counter culture. I was never part of the counter culture, and thought the whole idea was full of dung. I was surrounded by WWII vets growing up and viewed them with great respect. Even at nine years of age, I was in awe while viewing the Declaration of Independence and Constitution on a trip to D.C. My school class made several trips to Philly to Independence Hall to see the Liberty Bell, and this was before they moved it out of Independence Hall and one could touch the bell and run your fingers in the crack. I lived just a couple of miles from where the Battle of Brandywine took place. The battle that forced Washington's army to camp at Valley Forge for the winter. I was reminded on a daily basis by houses and buildings that were around during the early and mid 1700's and I tried to imagine what it was like during those times. So, these writers should stop trashing the entire baby boomer generation for a good story. Not all of us were marching in anti whatever marches and protesting the establishment. Many of that generation fought in Vietnam and their names are on that big slab of black granite in D.C.

While 70 percent see the country on the wrong track, don't assume they are all thinking along the same track. For some the progressive tide is not advancing far enough fast enough. Let's take that student loan forgiveness as an example. You want it and don't get it, like that carrot hanging outside your grasp. Country on the "right track"? Or one is an abortion advocate...BLM stalwart...or whatever flavor or progressive you like. The funny thing about Rod Serling and his Twilight Zone is that it advocated early-60s liberal causes, particularly involving race and illiberal thought. Now it is a goldmine of conservative points of view because the national thinking has progressed beyond those issues, which are somewhat shallow by today's standards. "There’s a propensity in our country to polarize things in black-and-white concepts. A man is either this or he is that. He’s either a Communist or he’s on our side, and I think the reverse is true amongst liberals. If a man happens to be militantly and vehemently anti-Communist, this guy is suspect among the liberals...It’s kind of a dilemma of the — you might coin a phrase — conservative liberal. I’d like to dramatize the problem." - Rod Serling, 1961

President Trump has warned that “monster” nuclear weapons are the biggest threat to humanity and could easily “end the world” tomorrow. The commander in chief gave the grim warning as he lamented the dangers of stockpiling the nukes amid his push to kickstart arms control talks with Russia and China again. “The greatest [threat] is sitting on shelves in various countries called ‘nuclear weapons’ that are big monsters that can blow your heads off for miles and miles and miles,” Trump told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Businesses owned by President Trump sued Capital One, accusing the banking giant of terminating hundreds of their accounts in 2021 over political bias. Eric Trump, the second son of Mr. Trump, is also listed as a plaintiff in the state case filed Friday in a Miami-Dade courthouse. The complaint alleges that the Trumps got notice on March 8, 2021, that Capital One was closing their accounts, which had millions of dollars in them at the time.

A civilian aircraft flew into the no-fly zone over the property at around 1:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a statement. The fighter jets fired flares to warn the pilots to move out of the area, the military said. The aircraft was then escorted out of the area.

The request, which was reported by multiple media outlets including CNN and The Washington Post, will involve a study using the Vaccine Safety Datalink, which monitors safety of vaccines and investigates potential adverse reactions. “As President Trump said in his Joint Address to Congress, the rate of autism in American children has skyrocketed,” HHS spokesman Andrew Nixon said in a statement to CNN.

Do you think any normal people are listening to these Democrat and affiliated lunatics? I mean, I’m listening to them, and you’re probably listening to them, because we’re deep inside the whole political world, but I have to wonder – are normal people paying any attention at all to these circus freaks and their incessant, hyperbolic whining, mewling, and complaining? He’s facing several hundred ecstatic voters huddled outside a suburban Detroit high school — the group that did not fit inside the high school’s gym or two overflow rooms. They will not allow Trump to take us into authoritarianism,” Sanders yelled.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has slammed Europe’s “cowardice” to stand up to Russian President Vladimir Putin as his nation looks to arm itself with nuclear weapons to avoid the same fate as Ukraine. Tusk said the current situation in Europe, which is scrambling to react to President Trump’s decision to halt military aid and intelligence to Ukraine, would not have happened if the union took harsher actions against Russia. “Our deficit has been the lack of the will to act, having no confidence, and sometimes even cowardice,” Tusk told his parliament on Friday, adding that Moscow would have been rendered “helpless against a united Europe.”

With fiscal responsibility at the forefront, GOP members rally behind the CR to ensure the nation's focus stays on essential issues, protect taxpayers from potential disruptions, and advance President Donald Trump's agenda.

Fears over increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids and deportations have kept students out of classrooms and farmers out of their fields, and relegated food trucks to garages. But a coalition of activists on the left is working to provide the tools to help immigrants stay in the United States. ResistMap, a project of TurnLeft PAC that launched Thursday, offers immigrants and their communities an opportunity to monitor and track ICE via text updates and a national map. The group hopes that through reports made by people witnessing ICE raids, they can create a live nationwide registry of ICE activity. With time, that could provide archival data on which areas

SAUGATUCK, Mich. — Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is set to announce that he will not seek an open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, a move that leaves the door wide open for him to seek a much bigger role as his party’s next presidential nominee. Since his role in the Biden administration ended in late January, Buttigieg has spent months considering his next move, including a serious look at the unexpectedly open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, where he relocated in recent years. But many prominent allies he consulted believed he could not realistically pursue the Senate seat while

A new four-lane highway cutting through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest is being built for the COP30 climate summit in the Brazilian city of Belém. It aims to ease traffic to the city, which will host more than 50,000 people - including world leaders - at the conference in November. The state government touts the highway's "sustainable" credentials, but some locals and conservationists are outraged at the environmental impact. The Amazon plays a vital role in absorbing carbon for the world and providing biodiversity, and many say this deforestation contradicts the very purpose of a climate summit.

The 36 million who watched President Donald Trump's address to Congress also watched as Congressional Black Caucus member, Rep. Al Green, shook his cane and shouted at the president. When he refused to desist, Speaker Mike Johnson ordered him removed from the chamber. Two days later, in a bipartisan vote, the House censured Green. The Congressional Black Caucus stood in firm support of Green's actions and, in their own move to disrupt, CBC members sang "We Shall Overcome," an anthem of the Civil Rights Movement, as Johnson read the censure on the House floor. When they refused to stop disrupting, the Speaker gaveled the session to recess.

It's not widely known, but over HALF of Columba University's enrollment is now foreign students. Some of them are people like Mahmoud Khalil, who spent all his time agitating in support of Hamas terrorists. But if you dig deeper, the true story is even more appalling: Columbia is using the prestige of its elite undergraduate school to bring in thousands of mediocre foreigners who want a Columbia degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar field. Columbia admits them because they pay full-freight tuition, boosting their bottom line while glutting the American job market and lowering wages for STEM workers.
