Elon Musk’s extensive business dealings with China have sparked some alarm on Capitol Hill, with some lawmakers questioning whether Beijing could exploit connections with Tesla and SpaceX to gain access to classified information. Republican lawmakers have expressed concern that the Chinese government could attempt to obtain classified information through third-parties, such as SpaceX suppliers based in China. The US and China are locked in intense competition over space technology and American officials have repeatedly accused Beijing of stealing US intellectual property and trade secrets. Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah), a top member of the House Intelligence Committee, is attempting to hold closed-door briefings to probe whether China’s government

They didn't and don't seem worried about Hunter Biden and the "Big Guy's" dealings with China. Didn't Swalwell have an affair with a Chinese spy? THEY didn't seem too worried about that!!! Beam me up!

Leave Musk alone. You are too ignorant, corrupt, dishonest, barren of ethics and conscience. Go back and work up enough nerve to issue a subpoena and fight the Democrats---but you haven't the nerve for that.

Elon has been saying some things that don't jibe with the establishment and getting favorable attention from the hoi polloi. He must be dealt with.

The ‘lawmakers’ on Capital Hill are far more invested in China than Elon Musk.

lawmakers questioning whether Beijing could exploit connections with Tesla and SpaceX to gain access to classified information. #1 is exactly right. How about the Hunter Biden connections. How about the whole corrupt Biden family. If it wasn't for the corrupt FBI the whole Biden family would be indicted under the RICO act just like the mob......Got it....

#8 mirrored my first thought; Musk has been tweeting some real zingers against the deep state. He has shown his deplorable side and is not a "team" player. If we're in a real-life Atlas Shrugged, I believe Elon may be our Hank Reardon.

Business dealings with China have been going on for over 50 years. Now they are worried after they outsourced our logistical supplies and closed down out factories. Is this concern because they can't manipulate Musk?

These republicans are pathetic attempting to be concerned about Elon Musk yet not saying a word about McConnell, Clintons, Swalwell or Feinstein ties to China. Give me a break, these people make me sick.

These clowns want everyone to own an electric car. Where do they think the batteries for those cars are coming from? It sure isn't the U.S. The environmental regulations in this country make it impossible for these car batteries to be made in the U.S. The batteries have to be made in a place where there aren't any environmental laws or concerns. That place is China. If the same environmental regulations in the U.S. were in place in China, there wouldn't be any electric cars. The cost to manufacture the batteries and the environmental impact that is made in the process of producing these batteries would make electric cars an environmental hazard and impossible for anyone but the extremely wealthy to afford.

I'm struck by china's need to steal America's technology...why???...aren't they clever enough to invent their own...does it go back to American tenacity and know how...there's something about Americans and their know how that intrigues china...why??...have the chi/coms beaten down their people to the point they cannot be clever enough to invent systems themselves..??

To the individual who posted the comments at the top: The American military equipment is referred to as LORAN, not Loral. I was there when the Clinton administration gave away our military technology to the PRC in the 1992-3 timeframe. That Chinese scientists back-engineered what we provided to them & of course, it was expected. I retired from the Navy shortly thereafter. I don't usually use Wikipedia but in this case, I made an exception. This was a direction-finding system that required a minimum of two navigational points as a reference on a map. Too little, too late, Senator for your outrage.

There were never any concerns about the business ties of Mitch McConnell and his wife, Elaine Chao, whose family is a key player in Chinese shipping interests, and who was then the Transportation Secretary. Nor about Barbara Boxer's Chinese spy chauffeur, nor about the elder statesman Clintons "sharing" missile guidance technology with China via Bernard Schwartz of Loral, nor of China having full access to all of our military technology because Microsoft is incapable of making a secure operating system.
