A federal judge Thursday ordered the U.S. Department of Justice to stop the extraction of data from Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe’s smartphone, pending a court hearing on the appointment of a “special master” to oversee the extraction.O’Keefe’s attorney, Harmeet Dhillon, tweeted the court’s decision, saying it was what O’Keefe’s legal team had sought: (Tweet) The DOJ has O’Keefe’s phone and other data following an FBI raid earlier this month of O’Keefe’s New York home, ostensibly looking for information related to the alleged theft of a diary

Too little, too late, judge. DOJ would have copied the entire content of O'Keefe's phone within minutes after raiding his house last Saturday.

#1, I disagree. The DOJ already knew what was on O'Keefe's phone because they are hackers. They are simply making themselves APPEAR that they didn't already know.

The DOJ was looking for a diary. They could have found out within minutes if any part of that diary was on the phone. What's with taking the phone and keeping it?

What happened to the data extracted from Hunter Biden's laptop? That would seem to be of more national security interest, but of course Biden is not a Republican.

Who possibly believes that (1) the FBI hasn't already scrubbed O'Keefe's phone of any and everything useful or that (2) the NYT isn't already in possession of it? I've got land in Atlantis to sell you.

Unless that diary contained the nuclear strike codes, I don't see why the FBI is involved. Sounds like a local police matter to me.

I have still not seen it explained what Federal Crime was involved, here.

Apparently the diary was printed on the internet over a year ago and it really has not been determined if it was stolen or found. That was before Biden was elected President. So you have to wonder why the FBI was tasked to investigate, as if it was a theft you would think that it normally would be a local police matter with jurisdiction to investigate being wherever the theft supposedly occurred. If the diary was lost and found by someone who was literally and politically astute enough to figure out that the comments in the diary were extremely damaging to Biden and his daughter and then passed it on to Project Veritas that is just bad luck for Biden and his daughter, as she should have safeguarded her intimate diary against becoming lost. The only person who could get the FBI to conduct a dragnet investigation into the matter is Biden himself. O’Keefe probably knew that his residence would be raided by the FBI as the FBI had already raided the residences of two Project Veritas employees looking for the diary or other evidence relating to the diary. Apparently the Judge who would have issued the federal search warrants and who made the latest court order is a politically connected liberal Democrat nominated by Obama, who probably was advised and knows that the FBI would have already copied the information including the identities of past Project Veritas sources contained on the cell phones that they confiscated. Don’t be surprised if some of that information ends up in the New York Times in the future.

The Diary was either lost/left or taken at a Drug Rehap facility where she was under treatment(yet again) by fellow patients there. NOT from some undercover PV plant.. Parts/portions were shopped around to dozens of News Outlets with a solicitation of payment offers. O'kefee declined and forwarded both the document copies he had received and the contact information to Law Enforcement....
Why is HE the only one being raided? Where are the raids for the myriad of other "News" outlets that also received the proffer?
Why was the NYT read into the warrant, Raid, and given information from O'keefes phone/computer/emails within hours of the Raid? Which they then publicized.
When can we expect the Raid on the NYT, it's reporters to discern who stole/leaked top secret/law enforcement information/documents?
Clearly a personal diary is a personal matter, why is the FBI even involved? Why is DOJ even involved? How is it that Biden can use THEM for a private personal matter?
At the very same time Congress is using the courts/FBI and congressional hearings to attempt to gain access to DOZENS of Trump Team personal journals,"Diaries", communications, and demanding all of those People Publicly testify, under oath to private "Privileged" conversations.

This is absolutely criminal. Garland and Wray both should be cashiered over this activity. Using the FBI for this activity is akin to sending out the Gestapo or the KGB to punish your political enemies over something that isn't even remotely either a crime, or in scope for the Federal Government.
If Xiden ordered this, he should be immediately impeached over it. We know that is going nowhere, though.

Why now? A year ago it was a local police matter, theft, invasion of privacy, blackmail or whatever. NOW....she's Flatus Maximus' daughter, so it's Lese-Majeste. Highly punishable.

This administration wanted to send a message to Project Veritas in general and to O'Keefe in particular. Stop exposing our corruption or we will make your life miserable.
