Americans engaged in the rescue of U.S. citizens, SIVs and green card holders left behind by President Biden in Afghanistan are horrified by what they describe as inexplicable delays from the State Department that are preventing evacuation flights from leaving the country. The State Department's delays are recklessly endangering American lives, three different individuals involved in the private evacuation effort told Fox News.
Rick Clay, who runs the private rescue group PlanB, told Fox News that the State Department is the only thing preventing the flights he's organizing from leaving Afghanistan.

Video captures the moment a firebug set aflame a ticket booth at an Italian American festival in Brooklyn last month—and nearly torched himself in the process. Adnan Ali Hussein, 28, can be seen at the ticket booth for the 18th annual Feast of Santa Rosalia in Bensonhurst on Aug. 24, according to the FDNY, which released footage of the incident Sunday. Hussein first applies an “ignitable liquid” to the booth and then pulls an object out of his pocket and lights the booth on fire, officials said. Investigators believe he used a lighter, officials said. The suspect can be seen on the video then jumping back in surprise

President Joe Biden's sweeping liberal policy priorities already face a recalcitrant Senate. But he is increasingly finding his agenda at odds with another adversary: the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court's decision this week not to block Texas's "heartbeat" abortion ban is its latest ruling that undermines a liberal cause. The justices already lifted Biden's eviction moratorium, but it refused to roll back Arizona's election reforms. And the decisions push the Supreme Court back into the political spotlight before next year's midterm elections. If the Supreme Court overturns the landmark abortion case Roe. v Wade, it will be a tipping point for Biden and the institution as critics complain that the Republican-appointed majority

Conservatives are often accused by the left of ignoring the science on global warming, but a newly released survey shows Republicans are better informed than their Democratic counterparts on several key climate issues.
A Google survey of 1,500 U.S. adults released last week by Environmental Progress found Democrats were more likely than Republicans “to believe false information about basic aspects of climate science,” starting with the impact of natural disasters.
The results found 42% of Democrats and 35% of Republicans agreed that “More people are dying of natural disasters,” even though such deaths have declined by more than 90% worldwide over the last century.

Public schools in Chicago have finally reopened, but with a major twist: Apparently, some teachers are adorning themselves with so much COVID protection gear that they look like forensic pathologists investigating a crime scene.
Case in point: In celebration of the reopening of the city’s schools, Mayor Lori Lightfoot posted photos last Monday from one local classroom, and in one of the photos the teacher could be seen decked out in what looked like a hazmat suit.
In addition to the hazmat suit, the teacher also had on gloves, a face shield and of course a face mask.

An MSNBC panel engaged in some over-the-top histrionics while bitterly lamenting the new Texas law that, according to the left, could signal the end of Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion throughout the country.
Signed by Gov. Greg Abbott in May, the law bans abortions in Texas upon detection of a fetal heartbeat, which can occur as early as six weeks.
Solutions-oriented panelist Elie Mystal, a “justice correspondent” for the far-left Nation magazine, called for the Biden administration to “go buck wild” and, among other things, more or less deploy into Texas physicians willing to perform abortions during the conversation embedded below in two parts,

That ought to be easy. In Afghanistan what needed to be done is almost as old as man. As Victor David Hanson pointed out to Tucker, "This is the greatest loss of military equipment in the history of warfare by one power."
He's right. Because US government is so drunkenly profligate, the numbers sound blah-blah to jaded American ears. But $85-90 billion is larger than the annual military budget for every nation around the world except the US and China.

Which brings us to Professor Derek Hook.
Emma Colton reported, "A professor employed at a Catholic university in Pennsylvania [Duquesne] said on camera that there are merits to the claim that it’s ethical for White people to commit suicide."

Only one man lost his job over Afghanistan. Lt. Col. Rolling Stone magazine has been called out for publishing an inaccurate story Saturday about hospitals in Oklahoma being overrun by Ivermectin overdoses.
The Rolling Stone story reported that the number of Ivermectin drug overdoses have so overwhelmed hospitals that gunshot victims have been unable to get medical treatment. Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic drug that has a human version but is more commonly used for deworming livestock.
In an interview with local Southeastern Oklahoma station KFOR, a rural Oklahoma physician Dr. Jason McElyea spread many of the same falsehoods.

What's with the bizarre campaign against Ivermectin?
It's not just that the FDA has put out a quackish tweet (shown here by AT contributor Dr. Brian Joondeph, M.D.) scolding viewers that they are not horses or cows. That's in reference to the fact that in some high-dose forms, ivermectin is used as a horse dewormer, begging the question about its effectiveness when it is dosed and formulated properly as a human medical treatment for COVID, prescribed off-label. The news reports repeatedly call ivermectin a dangerous drug, implying that all uses of the drug are dangerous, even when taken properly.

As the pollsters across the board show President Biden’s support tanking rapidly (even among those whose polls regularly overweight Democrat support), the major media are having a hard time burying the story of administrative incoherence and stupidity and the consequences here and abroad.
The man who as a candidate promised to repair our international alliances has dealt NATO a significant if not fatal blow. The rush to bug out of Afghanistan left hundreds, probably thousands of persons who were citizens, green card holders, and allies behind.
