We know the nature of mass hysterias in history, and how they can overwhelm and paralyze what seem to be stable societies. We know the roots and origins of the cult of wokeness. And we know, too, how such insanity—from the Salem witch trials to Jacobinism to McCarthyism—can spread, despite alienating most of the population, through fear and the threat of personal ruin or worse. These are the dark sides of the tulip, hula-hoop, and pet-rock fads, the mass obsessions so suited to past affluent Western societies. But does wokeism serve another purpose as well? Specifically, does it either hide preexisting incompetence or fuel it?

FTA: “ Either their abilities to carry out their assigned tasks are becoming diminished by Nineteen Eighty-Four-like wokism, or they are using ideological camouflage simply to mask their unaccountability—and their increasing incompetence.”
Democrats are proving everyday they are incompetent in every aspect but criminality in which they excel. If you have ever held a job you know a person like this. They are arrogantly confident and completely incompetent.

VDH knocks one out of the park. Our only means of countering the private institutions that are attempting to erase white society is to starve them of attendance and money. The government wokeness is forcefully financed by us and has deeper roots, like a Plantar Wart.

Many if not most, of these companies and institutions are in a death spiral and will not last much longer as currently organized and operated.

Since the general mindset of every liberal/Socialist/Communist is that of being superior, it makes perfect sense that the most flack is coming from those social media. Those on social media are mostly young, probably college educated, and from upper middle class families. They are oh so superior because they've been brain washed to believe they are special even while they sit at home looking for something to offend them.

Not only are the nitwits arrogant and ignorant, they have been convinced that people who have forgotten more than they will ever learn and still retain 98% of what they ever knew, are the dimwits.

The dims' arrogance arises from a superiority complex. Certain behaviors are characteristic of the superiority complex and do the dims exhibit these?
Exaggerate their self-worth - CHECK
They blurt out claims that are fake and not backed up by reality - CHECK
Dims pay a lot of attention to appearance or vanity - CHECK
Overly high opinions of themselves - CHECK
Dims have a self-image of supremacy or authority - DOUBLE CHECK
They are unwilling to listen to others and are dismissive of others - TRIPLE CHECK
Dims have mood swings triggered by TDS which is made worse by contradiction from other dims - CHECK
Diagnosis - Superiority complex due to chronic symptoms of TDS and conservative hate.
Recommended treatment - removal from country of origin and re-education.

The best part of the article is the bottom fourth to the end of it.
Most of the dumb wokeness mentioned I don't care a wit about. Education, entertainment, travel, sports I don't care about or think about.
It is strange how in all my life, over 70 years, the in and out mention of McCarthyism made full circle now proven to be correct 100% someone owes the man an apology If he around today. McCarthy was more correct in his stance to root out commies than the bloated deep thinking general Milley looking for white supremacist in the ranks of the military good luck finding those General Woke Goofball.
#1 who inspired that rhyme? Sounds like Dr. Seuss, cute.

If these people were just bumbling loudmouths that was one thing. But they are organized, calculating vicious thugs. Their leaders know exactly what opponents are too sacred or good natured to do . They have no qualms about lying to get what they want. Remember a certain obscure Austrian corporal in Germany a century ago?

Incompetence + Arrogance = Woke
I would add one more factor in defining Woke.
Incompetence + Arrogance + Irrationality = Woke
A prime example of the their Irrationality is the "De-fund the Police" movement. No rational person would believe that gutting the police force would reduce crime. Add in not prosecuting criminals when caught and you have the crime waves many cities are experiencing. The daylight beheading of a woman in Minnesota by a repeat violent offender is a result of Woke Irrationality in practice. Also, pay people more than they can get by going to work and they stop looking for work. Who knew? Any rational person knew!

I think of it as ignorance + certitude + intolerance = woke. They are certain of so much that is demonstrably untrue. They sustain that delusion with ideological purging.

Straight out of Atlas Shrugged. Certain businesses would virtue signal and use their government contacts to leverage themselves, but in reality were circling the drain.
Its more than incompetence and arrogance that make up wokeism.
There is the indoctrination and dumbing down that makes people woke.
There is the intellectual laziness to blindly believe whatever is put forward by the woke crowd without ever questioning it. They don't think!
There is a high level of dishonesty in wokeism. These people want to tell others what to do. They don't want to work. They don't want to achieve anything on their own personal merits. There is a huge sense of entitlement.

What if a doctor, particularly a conservative, treated his patients to his political views and his state of emotional health that day? Or a lawyer, nurse, cashier, car mechanic, etc? Point is NO ONE would appreciate it. They would expect the person to just do their job. And that is what we would like from our athletes and entertainers.

Victor Davis Hansen - a good and great man who loves America dearly. This is an article for the Ages. Posterity may look back at this time (and these truths so beautifully articulated) in history and understand what brought America down. Oceans of blood and tears have been shed and unimaginable sacrifice and suffering unending have been borne by patriots who gave so much to keep us strong, free and protected. Negativity, hate and resentment are being promoted by many in power these days. God help us. It's a frightening time in America.

American government and companies reflect American society. Woke and loud. Standards for hire are lax. One can call any government or company contact center and remain on hold or cut off repeatedly.
For the government, much of the job is make work to provide employment at agency offices scattered around the country, or at military bases that are generally the economic heart of a community. There is no merit associated with government work. Creating this trillion dollar economic engine is called "bringing home the bacon" for your local Member of Congress. It absorbs unemployment. And if you want to shut it down, walk down to your local VA clinic or FBI field office and start pointing out those nonessential workers to go.

Mr. Hanson has an interesting approach to the wokeness cult that dominates DC and social media/fake media...I see light at the end of the tunnel.... more states are taking control of their own business... Florida and Texas and now Arizona and Wisconsin....after all... the constitution gives governors control of their states and that's starting to happen... so WE are making progress...one step at a time...

FTA: Surely if one should vote without an ID, why not then be allowed to board a Delta flight?" While I'm with VDH in spirit and I certainly get his point, the ID requirement is not a business decision but rather a federal regulatory requirement.

Today America’s top “woke” Admirals and Generals prance around with eight to ten rows of ribbons and other qualification badges on their uniforms, reminiscent of the old Soviet Generals and Marshals, but how many wars have any of them actually won? Clearly the answer is none.
Now compare what is going on with today’s “woke” Generals to the end of the Second World War when there were all sorts of films and photographs of General Eisenhower who was the Supreme Allied Commander over all American and British forces fighting on the Western front against the German Nazis. General Eisenhower won his part of that big world war. Now look at Eisenhower’s uniform, usually including his “Ike Jacket” and you will see that he never wore more than two rows of ribbons on his uniform. What does that tell you? Besides after being elected President, Eisenhower was the man who warned America about the military-industrial complex of today.

Apart from the "wokism" we find in so many sectors of government and private employment, there is a world of evidence supporting the "Peter Principle" first propounded in 1969 by Lawrence J. Peter: "In an organization, each individual rises to the level of his own incompetence."

Exactly #4. McCarthy was right about most of them and the cancer was deeper than the HCUA ever got near. Yes, some innocent people got swept up in the moment and that could be attributed to several things--including some guilty trying to deflect as well as some overzealousness. But overall, I would say the investigation didn't go far enough, especially knowing what we know now.
