Former Vice President Mike Pence was proud to certify the presidential election results on Jan. 6 after a deadly riot at the US Capitol, he said in his most direct and pointed departure from former President Donald Trump.Speaking to a crowd at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Thursday, Pence said it was his duty under the Constitution to certify the results, and while he made no direct mention of his former boss, he appeared to distance himself from Trump, who still disputes the results of the Electoral College tally. 'I will always be proud that we did our part on that tragic day

A Democratic congressman from California suggested that the Catholic Church ought to lose its tax-exempt status if the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) decides to follow Church law and deny Communion to pro-abortion politicians like President Joe Biden.
In a June 18 tweet, Rep. Jared Huffman (D-CA) said, “If they’re going to politically weaponize religion by ‘rebuking’ Democrats who support women’s reproductive choice, then a ‘rebuke’ of their tax-exempt status may be in order.”
Huffman, who serves on a variety of caucuses — including the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Equality Caucus and the

Team USA's inclusion of white forward Kevin Love on the Olympic roster is an example of 'tokenism,' according to retired NBA star Jalen Rose, who says black Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton would make a better choice even though he's from the Bahamas.
'Kevin Love is on the team because of tokenism,' Rose, now an ESPN commentator, said on his podcast. 'Don't be scared to make an all-black team representing the United States of America. I'm disappointed by that. Anybody that watched the league this year knows Kevin Love did not have a stellar season."

Nancy Pelosi spoke today about “the root causes” of the January 6 Capitol riot: “the white supremacy, the anti-Semitism, the Islamophobia, all the rest of it that was so evident when you see a sweatshirt on one of the people saying, ‘Camp Auschwitz.’” She repeated the common and yet completely unsubstantiated claim that the Capitol incident constituted an “insurrection,” and once again claimed that Trump “incited” the “insurrection,” in flagrant disregard for the fact that Trump told the demonstrators to remain peaceful. Her list of the three “root causes” of this sham “insurrection” were, in effect, a list of those that she and the Biden Justice Department intend

A Federal Aviation Administration advisory group is urging the agency to replace words like “airman” and “cockpit” with gender-neutral terms like “aviator” and “flight deck.” The FAA’s Drone Advisory Committee put forth the recommendations in a report released Wednesday, part of a broader push for equity in the agency and aviation industry. “Research shows that the utilization of gender-neutral language can lead to a more inclusive environment that draws more people to the industry and helps keep them there,” the report states. The committee offered several alternatives for terms commonly used in the industry, such as using “manufactured” or “fabricated” instead of “man-made.”

Derek Chauvin, the former police officer who killed George Floyd during his arrest in Minneapolis last year, was sentenced to 22 years in prison on Friday.
Chauvin was found guilty in April of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter.
The former police officer is seen in a video of the arrest kneeling on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes, persisting even after he became unconscious.
Chauvin spoke briefly during his sentencing hearing on Friday: “I want to give my condolences to the Floyd family,” Chauvin said.
“There’s going to be some other information in the future

A deadly shootout erupted in an exclusive neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills early Friday morning in what might have been an attempted robbery of a multi-million dollar home, according to multiple reports.
It is the latest shooting incident in what has been a dramatic surge in violent crime across Los Angeles, which recently voted to defund its police department.
TMZ reported there is at least one dead and three injured after gunfire erupted just off the Sunset Strip at a home on Blue Jay Way. Three men reportedly drove up to the house in an Audi and opened fire.

On Friday’s broadcast of C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal,” Rep. Al Green (D-TX) said that Critical Race Theory “is just about telling the truth about how there is still systemic racism in this country today and that we have to deal with it and how it impacts the lives of people.”Green stated, “Critical Race is about the side of history that we’ve not made known to the public, that we don’t teach in our schools. Slaves were not happy people. We should not in any way glamorize slavery. We shouldn’t sanitize it. We have to tell the truth about what happened in 1619 and thereafter. That’s what it’s all about.

As the Marxist revolution oozes forward, I occasionally wonder what will happen to the useful idiots when the commies seize absolute power in this once great Republic. I believe that most AT readers are familiar with the term, but for those who need a brief refresher, a useful idiot, as defined by Wikipedia, "is a derogatory term for a person perceived as propagandizing for a cause without fully comprehending the cause's goals, and who is cynically used by the cause's leaders." In my opinion, this definition can be applied to a majority of the young, brainwashed radicals who have no idea about the true history of Marxism

Brooklyn, New York City—There is growing outrage in Brooklyn and in Newark after two statues to honor George Floyd were targeted by vandals. The George Floyd statue that was unveiled on Juneteenth at 1545 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn was discovered vandalized around 7:20 a.m. Thursday.(Snip) "I'm not gonna get emotional but to come up today, someone in the name of hate, came through the night and defaced it. In the night, when we couldn't see their face. They snuck in. It's really, really devastating," said statue producer Lindsay Eshelman. "They seem to be very aligned with the things that happened at the Capitol.
