President Biden urged Congress to ban “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines following the Boulder, Colo., shooting in which ten people were killed.
“I urge my colleagues in the House and Senate to act,” Biden said at a press conference. “We can ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines in this country once again.”
Biden also called on the Senate to pass a bill already approved by the House, which tightens background checks for potential gun buyers.
“The United States Senate, and I hope some of them are listening, should immediately pass the [bills] that close loopholes in the background check system,” Biden said.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi celebrated the Communist Party’s alleged conclusion of “the days when a few Western powers could wantonly interfere in China’s internal affairs” in a meeting with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday.
Tuesday was the fourth day since a meeting between Wang and American diplomats in which the Chinese berated the Americans for alleged racism and human rights abuses. The meeting — which, in addition to Wang, featured top Politburo member Yang Jiechi, American Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and American National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan — occurred in Anchorage, Alaska, which Chinese state media and the Foreign Ministry complained was cold and inhospitable

According to an explosive report from The Washington Examiner, one of the nation’s largest health insurance providers actively discriminates against white males in hiring and pushes Marxist critical race theory on its staff. Cigna reportedly urges staff to check various kinds of “privilege,” to avoid using terms like “Wives/husband,” and to read books that claim America is systemically racist. In a statement to PJ Media, Cigna condemned racism and discrimination and insisted its positions were open to qualified applicants, regardless of race. The company did explicitly deny using racial quotas or address claims about its training materials.

Shaving company Harry’s appears to have taken the complaints of a Twitter user with only two followers seriously when shaving off its professional relationship with a conservative personality.
A Twitter account named Avi Das (@flyingsodacan1) — created in December 2020 — trigger-tweeted at Harry’s whining about its sponsorship of The Daily Wire host Michael Knowles. The account bleated, “@harrys is sponsoring Michael Knowles. The same @michaeljknowles who is spreading homophobic and transphobic content. He had Joesph [sic] Nicolosi jr as a guest

As we noted at some length around the time the 1619 Project debuted, some of the strongest criticism of it came from the World Socialist Web Site, which sees identity politics as a hindrance to old-fashioned, orthodox Marxist class-conscious revolution. And they might be on to something here. It really is tempting to see the whole domain of identity politics as a right-wing plot to get the left to commit ritual purity suicide. (Do I really mean this? To quote Francis Urquhart in the original—and best—House of Cards: “You might very well think so; I couldn’t possibly comment.

As RedState reported yesterday, ten people were shot and killed in a grocery store yesterday in Boulder, CO. Details have been sparse up until this point as is typical in these situations.
But now, we have a name, and it nukes just about every prior predominant media narrative surrounding the shooting. There are few different spellings going around via various reports, but they are all trying to convey the same thing. I hope you have a neck brace on because you are about to have whiplash from how quickly the news outlets that have been speculating this was “white supremacy” change their tune.

The news broke on Tuesday that the name of the suspected mass shooter in the Boulder, Colorado supermarket incident was released. The suspect, who is accused of killing ten innocent people, including a police officer, is named Ahmad al Alissa.
“Police have identified the suspect in the Boulder, Colo., shooting as Ahmad Alissa,” the New York Daily News reported. “The 21-year-old is charged with 10 counts of murder in the first degree in connection with the Monday afternoon shooting at the King Sooper supermarket, police said Tuesday at a press conference.”
Reports, which haven’t been confirmed, also surfaced that the Biden administration has been briefed on potential ISIS sympathies.

Ten people were killed, including a police officer, in a mass shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado. Officer Eric Talley, who was one of the first to respond to the scene, was killed in action. Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold grieved the fallen officer, saying that Talley was “killed trying to save the lives of others.” The identities of the other nine victims have not yet been released, pending notification of loved ones. The 51-year-old police officer joined the force in 2010. Homer Talley, the fallen officer’s father, told ABC in a statement that his son “took his job as a police officer very seriously.”

While the last election is still fresh in the minds of most Americans, the next one is going to become an issue a lot sooner than most people think.
Republicans are poised to retake the House due to redistricting alone. That and the historical fact that the first midterm for a newly minted president is almost always a bloodbath has Democrats dreading what looks to be coming. That’s why you see such a push to get rid of the filibuster now. Democrats know they are on borrowed time, and they want to push through what they can now.
There has been one thing that the left have been hoping will save them

Former first lady Michelle Obama joked Monday on NBC’s “The Kelly Clarkson Show” that she was “tired” of her husband, former President Barack Obama, during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.
Clarkson said, “When I went to the White House, I asked Dr. Biden what is the first thing she would do post-pandemic. So we know you are knitting now. She said, ‘get a martini and fries.’ So what are you going to do after knitting?”
Obama said, “I need to just remind Jill that they actually do have plenty of fries and martinis at the White House.

Cigna, one of the nation’s largest health insurance providers, has allegedly told employees not to hire white men as part of the company’s broader critical race theory campaign.
According to an internal chat log obtained by the Washington Examiner, a hiring manager at Cigna dismissed a white candidate because he did not fulfill the company’s diversity standards. In the chat, an employee suggested the company interview a man with extensive experience for an open position. The hiring manager allegedly told the employee that the man could not be interviewed because he is white.
In a separate chat log, a hiring manager dismissed another candidate who he assumed to be white.

Governor Abbott appeared on Fox and Friends Monday morning and told the co-hosts that he had two items of news to deliver. The topic was the flood of illegal migrants into Texas and the holding facility that the Biden administration is using to house unaccompanied minors in Midland. A Texas state senator delivered troubling news to the governor. As he spoke, he told the audience that there is no fencing around the Midland facility. The facility was hastily opened up to accommodate the overflow of unaccompanied minors from the U.S.-Mexico border. It was formerly a ‘man camp’ for oilfield workers run by Cotton Logistics and it is now referred
