As we’ve seen for the past three years, vast swaths of the nation’s judiciary are in opposition to the rule of law. In the federal courts, we are seeing judges interject themselves into mundane and banal executive branch actions simply to obstruct the ability of the Trump administration to govern because those judges oppose the policy decisions by the administration. These decisions are routinely overturned on appeal but the net effect is depriving the administration of months or years of potential actions. At the state level, we’re seeing state judges in lockstep with progressive state governments in trying to hamstring the ability of federal agencies to perform their duties.

On Wednesday, former Ambassador Bill Taylor, who was billed by Adam Schiff as his star witness, testified before the “impeachment” tribunal that Schiff has empaneled. Mostly he admitted to knowing jack about the quid pro quo (or bribery or solicitation of a bribe or whatever the Democrats are calling their central allegation this week) and what he did know, first hand, was not unhelpful to President Trump. What was interesting, though, was in his written statement he mentioned a highly improbable story but one tailor-made for the credulous NeverTrumpers who have bought into this story as spun by Schiff.

Why are House Democrats stonewalling questions about the identity of the Trump-Ukraine whistleblower? Start by taking them at their word. Perhaps they really are concerned about the whistleblower's personal safety. They also know that, beyond a limited prohibition applying to the inspector general of the intelligence community, no law bars anyone, in politics, media, or anywhere else, from revealing the whistleblower's identity. So they worry. But there is more to the story. Should the whistleblower have connections to prominent Democrats, exposure of his identity could be embarrassing to the party. And perhaps most of all,

The protesters, who were with a group called “Demand Justice,” remained outside the building while Justice Kavanaugh spoke to the gathering inside. It was Kavanaugh’s first public speech since he was confirmed over one year ago, and the event was dedicated to the late Justice Antonin Scalia. The protesters outside chanted slogans such as “I believe Dr. Ford, I believe Anita Hill,” in reference to the two women who falsely accused Justices Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas,

In closed-door testimony Saturday, White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) official Mark Sandy blew another giant hole in the Democrats’ impeachment probe, according to two Republican lawmakers following the testimony. Speaking to reporters, Reps Mark Meadows (R-NC) and Lee Zeldon (R-NY) said Saturday was “a bad day for Democrats” and urged House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) to release the transcript, along with five other previous deposition transcripts. Rep. Zeldin said the next open hearing is scheduled for Tuesday morning and argued that it “shouldn’t take place unless all six deposition transcripts are out by then.”

That person interviewed only people who were hostile to you. Imagine further that you were not allowed to see the evidence, to cross-examine witnesses, to bring your own evidence and witnesses involved in the matter, to have an impartial judge and jury, or to appeal the decision. How would you feel? Would this seem fair? House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) was busy leading the witness, former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, when she spoke the precise words he was trying to elicit: “Very intimidating.” Upon hearing that emotional reaction to a presidential tweet, one might wonder just how much the State Department standard for what counts as “intimidating” and “not intimidating” has changed over the decades. In 1961, Adlai Stevenson, a twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate thought of as a kind of high-minded milquetoast, had been shuttled out of Washington into the relative obscurity of ambassador to the United Nations. But in October 1962 when the chips were down—all the way down—

By now, only a person living in Alternate Universe One could fail to understand that the past three years have precisely nothing to do with Russian collusion or Ukraine corruption and everything to do with who makes decisions about American policy: the duly elected president of the United States or the administrative state. That is the struggle right now. The crux is a struggle between advocates of our constitutional republic and those who prefer government by an administrative state composed of unelected elites. There are no guarantees about who will win the fight. The first public impeachment inquiry hearings on Wednesday showed that very clearly: George Kent and William Taylor

To date the Schiff hearings -- unfairly run as they are -- show nothing less than a revolt by the Ukraine Desk Bureaucrats in which they concede they are poorly armed with any facts sufficient to overthrow the president, whose only crime was to change the direction of our Ukraine policy in which they’d played a significant role. History of Democratic Party’s Treatment of Ukraine While the hearings might have led some to believe that U.S. policy respecting Ukraine has been consistently supportive, the facts are otherwise, and the President’s effort to change that has the bureaucrats' dander up. Mark Twain once said, "When red-headed people are above a certain social grade their hair is auburn." The author of "Huck Finn" was right. While there is nothing wrong with having money or status, a lot of people who're in that position believe themselves to be superior and act condescendingly to others. What Walter Cronkite said rings true: "It's a little hard not to be an elitist when you're making millions of dollars a year." Arrogant condescension was rampant on day two of the impeachment hearings. Former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch was the star witness. Though she couldn't identify a time

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) on Saturday attacked President Donald Trump as a “charlatan” and vowed to send him back to the “golden throne he came from” in a speech at the California Democratic Party State Convention in Long Beach. “Two years ago I stood before you and I urged you to resist and you did, but we are more than a resistance now. We are a majority!” Schiff told attendees. “We are a majority in one House, and we will become a majority in the other, and we will send that charlatan [President Trump] in the White House back to the golden throne he came from,”

A few weeks ago, some Catholic activists marched on the Vatican and flung statues of "Pachamama," a pagan goddess of the Andes, into the Tiber. Good riddance. The radical leftists in charge at the Vatican were trying to sell some extra gods to the Catholic faithful under the banner of globalism, multiculturalism, New Age–ism, and inclusion. And while there is nothing wrong with appreciating indigenous peoples in a non-religious context, embracing them in a religious context is something else. Here's Pachamama from the Wikipedia page. Pachamama is a goddess revered by the indigenous people of the Andes. She is also known as the earth/time mother.

It all started with a business deal gone bad. In 1963, Henry Ford II, "the Deuce," decided he wanted Ford Motor Company to go racing. The only problem: Ford didn't have a sports car in its portfolio. The quickest way to acquire a sports car, the Deuce thought, was to buy Ferrari, then a race car company that only sold street-legal machines to fund its track exploits. Ford sent an envoy to Modena, Italy, to hash out a deal with Enzo Ferrari. The Americans offered $10 million, but as the negotiations neared their conclusion, Ferrari balked at a clause in the contract that said Ford would control the budget

Biden is too shaky and old, Warren and Sanders are too far left and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg is too inexperienced. That leaves a gaping opening for a newcomer like former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick or potential candidate Michael Bloomberg or even Hillary Clinton. Bacteria, fungi and other germs that have developed a resistance to antibiotics and other drugs pose one of the gravest public health challenges and a baffling problem for modern medicine.
