CNN is having a seven-hour town hall event on so-called global warming. This circus is going to last…seven whole hours. The 2020 Democratic field is going to have their day talking about one of the Left’s favorite subjects. Julian Castro got the ball rolling talking about “environmental racism.” He was later asked whether it was “fair” for younger generations to procreate. Yeah, this clown show is going to last seven hours, did I already mention that? The noted anti-Trump network has its rating buoyed by the fact that airports only show CNN, though I think even folks waiting to board their flights will find this to be nauseating.

Former Vice President Joe Biden's left eye appeared to have a blood vessel burst while he was participating in CNN's town hall on climate change. A broken blood vessel in the eye, also known as a subconjuctival hemorrhage, can be caused by several things, including high blood pressure, bleeding disorders, blood thinners, or even excessive straining. Biden, 76, has long been plagued by health issues. In 1988, he suffered an aneurysm that burst and required him to undergo emergency surgery. The then-senator was so close to death that a Catholic priest began preparing to administer the sacrament of last rites.

Ian Higgins is the captain of the Vision, a sister ship nearly identical to the Conception, which caught fire near Santa Cruz island Monday morning. Last weekend was a typical holiday weekend in Chicago: 7 dead, 41 shot. Lightfoot's answer to the violence? More gun control, of course. With respect to the latest round of mass shootings, I haven’t yet had time to delve into the statistics, but here are a few observations. First, the last couple of mass shooters likely are copycats. More than anything else, giving less press coverage to mass shootings, and especially refusing to publish “manifestoes,” would reduce the number of these events. One might say that mass shootings are a price we pay for freedom of the presss. Moreover, somewhere around 7,500 people die every day in the US, with about 100 per day dying in car accidents

A 19-year-old University of Illinois student has been charged with a hate crime for leaving a noose in a residence hall elevator. Math student Andrew Smith tied the noose with rope he found on the Urbana-Champaign campus, prosecutors told his arraignment. It was found in an elevator at 1 a.m. Sunday, with outraged social media posts quickly going viral among students. The Cherokee Nation has named its first delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives. Former Obama appointee Kimberly Teehee's nomination was approved by the tribe's council on Thursday. Although the treaty that created this nonvoting position is almost 200 years old, it had never been filled. The article outlining the right to a delegate is in the Treaty of New Echota. The 1835 treaty is also the document that led to the Trail of Tears, something that has been top of mind for Teehee. She points out the treaty gave up the Cherokee's homelands and cost the tribe thousands of lives. "Literally blood, sweat and tears," Teehee said.

The gunman who killed 7 and injured at least 22 others in a West Texas shooting rampage Labor Day weekend before he was shot and killed by police was federally banned from owning or buying firearms after a court previously ruled he was mentally unfit to do so, authorities said. The suspected mass shooter, Seth Aaron Ator, 36, appeared to have taken advantage of a loophole in federal gun law by purchasing the AR-type assault rifle used in the rampage at a private person-to-person gun sale, effectively bypassing a background check. Under Texas state law, background checks are not required in private sales, according to the Texas Tribune.
