A 14-year-old confessed to shooting five members of his family in their Elkmont, Alabama, home, authorities said.
The victims were the boy's father, stepmother and siblings, sheriff's office spokesman Stephen Young told CNN. Investigators have yet to establish a motive, he said.

In comments aired by Channel 12 Tuesday evening, Ocasio-Cortetz also rejected accusations by US President Donald Trump that she discriminates against the Jewish state, saying the “cudgel of anti-Semitism” cannot be used to ward off censure of Israel, which, she said, employs “unjust and inhumane policies.”
Ocasio-Cortetz is one of four Democrat congresswomen that Trump has repeatedly cast as “anti-Israel” and “anti-Semitic.”

Josh Stein, the Democratic attorney general in North Carolina, which might take a hit from Hurricane Dorian, has already warned business that if they take “advantage of this storm” he will “hold them accountable.” He’ll be praised for protecting consumers when he should instead be held responsible for hurting them.

They'd strike up intimate conversations of the you're-the-woman-I've-been-waiting-for variety. Once the conmen sensed ardor and trust, they would ask the women to send them money.
And the women did. Sometimes large sums to people they never set eyes on or even talked to on the phone.

House Democrats will reportedly prioritize a congressional inquiry into President Trump’s alleged role in hush-money payments to silence two women who say they had affairs with Trump before he took office.
The Washington Post reports the House Judiciary Committee, when it returns to Washington next week, plans to hold hearings and call witnesses to testify who have knowledge of the hush-money payments to ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal and adult-film star Stephanie Clifford, known by her stage name Stormy Daniels.

Chicago is experiencing a violent Labor Day weekend with at least 35 people shot and seven of them killed, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Monday.
Two deadly shootings unfolded Sunday within just over 20 minutes. A 15-year-old boy named Dovantae Jackson was shot on the same block where he lived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Soon afterward, an unidentified man and woman were shot at a South Side party; the man later died at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Also Sunday, a drive-by on the Southwest Side killing one man and seriously wounding another.
