President Trump said he was surprised by a report that the Justice Department won’t prosecute former FBI Director James B. Comey for allegedly violating laws on handling classified information. “I would frankly be surprised, because what James Comey did was illegal,” Mr. Trump told reporters at the White House. Mr. Trump said he hasn’t spoken to anyone at the Justice Department about the matter. “I haven’t actually heard that,” he said of the report. “I know there’s a lot of things going on. That’s a piece of it, I guess.” The Hill reported Thursday that the Justice Department inspector general’s office referred Mr. Comey for potential prosecution
Frankly, so are the rest of us.

Could it be because he set the precedent with HRC?
And his easier adjudicated laws broken are yet to come?

My bet is they will have a whole lot more and to hit him now with this is to risk losing on much bigger crimes that he can be turned to states evidence and spill his guts on much bigger fish. Obama might be worried.

"...no evidence to show that he knew and intended to violate laws on handling classified information". What BS! Then why wasn't the same rule applied to that submarine paean who took a picture of himself in the sub and didn't send it anywhere? I'll tell you why. Because the elite subversives are s-p-e-c-I-a-l and entitled to a special law enforcement rule called a get out of jail free card. I don't fall for the FBI Director not knowing the law on violating classified information. Barr should pull back Comey's complete immunity deal that Mr. Donkey Mueller gave him, which is a get out of jail free card. I'm sick of this two-tier justice system. Prosecute and jail the freak!

We are all a little surprised. Why does the DOJ jump to the front to even mention this, while redacting and refusing to share any pertinent information with us for 3 years? Disgusting corruption, incompetence, and laziness! The electorate would fire all of you, if they could.

Trump only “surprised” that his DoJ’s decision not to prosecute Comey sparked such revulsion amongst his supporters. Allowing Obama regime officials such as Comey, Lois Lerner, Hillary Clinton and soon McCabe, Brennan, Clapper, Rice and, of course, Obama, to simply walk away is going to erode Trump’s base. One hopes that Trump cares enough to at least meet with AG to rethink the President’s “soft on Obama regime crimes” policy.
Trump’s good fortune is that his Democrat opponents are all far left radicals that normal Americans cannot accept.

#5 said it all! The fact Hillary skated ,when every American knew she should have been prosecuted, started the Ball rolling on letting ALL Big Shots in D.C. to get away with CRIMES with impunity! Until SOMEONE involved in this Coup is actually prosecuted and put in Jail, this will continue. They have nothing to deter them from trying to take Trump down! It's time to get serious. Barr should do his job, I don't care if Comey was or is his best friend! They have investigated enough. They know the Players and what they did. Now it's time to pay the Piper!

If they prosecute Comey for leaking now, it will hold up release of the documents.
They can still prosecute him later. Or, more likely, prosecute him for FISA violations.

I doubt that a D.C. jury would convict Coward Comey, or Lady Lucifer, or Brennan, or the FBI paramours.
There is a way to beat those D.C. juries - bring the charges in other venues. It can be done for electronic crimes.

I read where they are waiting to get him on a much bigger charge of FISA abuse. My only question is why didn’t they wait and put all the charges out together. This piecemeal approach just infuriates the public, when really it is like charging him with a traffic crime before a charging a murder crime.

What we have here is an intentional walk that could easily evolve into a double or triple play.
