Twitter is like crack — something we keep using even though we know better, even though it might kill us. All the social networks have some resemblance to that drug, but Twitter most of all. It especially mesmerizes people in the media who feel they must make their mark on it or suffer the worst fate imaginable — to be ignored. Twitter is also said to be seriously biased against the right, sometimes even the milder center-right. At first, this seemed exaggerated, but the truth may be greater than we imagined. The well-respected Sean Davis of The Federalist was skeptical, but

No he should not. He expresses the views of the Right, who are increasingly being blocked from the Internet Town Square. If Trump was not President, he would be blacklisted and excluded.

Oh sure, depend on the media to get his unfiltered message out, right? As the article says, THAT´S not going to happen.
So after the election, as we are continuing to fight dems, media, RINOs, the Deep State, Socialists, Islamists/CAIR, etc. HOW shall we get an unbiased message out? The alternative is?
It´s simplistic to say "Quit Twitter". How will other Conservatives communicate?
Sure, social media is destructive. But it is communication. Blocking communication is anti freedom. The key thing is how to use unfettered communication wisely. We also have been damaged by turning to the nightly news pablum for our sole source of information and interpretation. We NEED other sources.
We also need the ability to interpret those sources. How about a labeling system required by law? Is this source liberal or Conservative? Does this source block certain types of information? Specifically what is blocked. Is this source perceived as being biased? Does this source have lawsuits against it? The rating system could be an automated government system that gathers public comment and surveys. You would have to register with a valid email and give a simple self evaluation before leaving comments. I am a conservative or liberal. I voted in the last 2 year election cycle. The state I live in. Etc.
Thus armed, maybe we can start to safely navigate the information streams.

Perhaps Roger should mind his own business. I don´t think President Trump needs advice from the likes of him, the President is doing just fine in spite of people like Simon.

Well Roger there´s a small problem with that. Unless you are a hard core news junkie with the inclination or courage to explore news outlets not in the tank for progressives socialists, whatever they call themselves today, exposure to a different point of view is likely confined to Trump´s tweets.

Right Roger, and while we´re at it, let´s get rid of everything except CNN and MSNBC. That way the public will only get unbiased, straight news.

It looks like Twitter, as well as Facebook and Google, are going to get some unwanted exposure in the courts, and by government investigations. They are about one censored politician or conservative group away from full-blown legal troubles, that will cost them dearly.

Journalists should stick with their own business. Advising the president on his communication style is above their paygrade - especially about something which has worked extremely well for the current one. FDR had his fireside chats. Trump has twitter. The latter is a great way, very immediate, to get one’s own words - unfiltered and unaltered by the oppo media - to us, the people…
It really bugs the journos that the President uses Twitter to habitually circumvent them and speak directly to those who elected him. In his own words. It has worked, so why mess with success?

I have a compromise: Trump should let a professional do it.

Why should he quit now, Roger? The President smacks down the msm everyday with his tweets and they don´t know their rear end from their front end let alone what to report and when to report it. I say keep it up and don´t let the msm gain any traction...ever.

I wouldn´t presume to take it upon myself to advise the President & neither should Mr. Simon. Besides, if something isn´t broken, it doesn´t need fixing.

Professionals, #8, are the problem. They use doublespeak and cya language - basically a waste of everyones´ time. Trump cuts through the nonsense and speaks directly. I like it.

Good grief. Why would our authentic president want to use a “professional” to tweet out canned, politically correct, honed into insipidity messages?

I will withhold any comment regarding The Donalds use of Twitter. Personally, I don´t use any social media. I find using social media the equivalent of using the toilet and not washing your hands afterwards.
