The Australian diver who risked his life to save 12 young soccer players trapped in a Thailand cave has spoken out about the incredible mission for the first time. Anaesthetist Richard ´Harry´ Harris was described as ´essential´ to the rescue operation because of his unique skills and expertise, including 30 years´ cave diving experience and his work as a medical retrieval specialist with South Australia´s MedSTAR service. The 53-year-old, who completed his medical training in the UK, New Zealand and Adelaide, spoke to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull on Wednesday about the daring operation into the secluded cave. ´The last couple

Brave, sensible, capable man. There are lots of them out there, if you look in the right places. I have known a few.

He did some amazingly difficult diving, and days back in that cave doing doc work. Very impressive.

Kind of funny isn´t it. The radical, left-wing feminists sure were being quiet about ´toxic masculinity´ this past week. Oh, BTW..the only females I saw helping out in this emergency were the ones serving food to the men who were doing the dangerous stuff..

The story we were hearing, that the strongest boys were brought out first, was apparently reversed on the advice of Dr. Harris. And thank Goodness, because a couple of the last ones out were quite ill.

Dr. Harry Harris makes me proud to be a fellow human being. Pray for him as well, for he lost his own father while he was involved in the rescue. Retrieving those trapped by the water from the cave was miraculous, requiring the skills of a lot of talented, brave people. If the boys and the coach had been left underground for weeks more, the oxygen would long have been depleted and they would have asphyxiated to death. Hurrying the rescue undoubtedly saved them.

There´s a professor where I work who has done cave diving and was once trapped in a cave for four hours with a broken bone. He says that cave diving is unimaginably hard. I believe him. God bless Dr. Harris and the other brave men who rescued these boys.

Bless the Lord for the rough and ready men who pull off these kinds of operations. We need more of this kind of *toxic masculinity* in our world today. Fie on the feminists who would eradicate it from society.

One nit though. I don´t call a 12 year old a small boy, but I get what he is driving at.

I have done a good bit of cave diving, since the early ´70s in Fla springs, including on my wedding day, with new bride´s approval.

No place for unskilled, indecisive, claustrophobic folks who cannot plan and stick to the plan precisely. It is very interesting, tremendously challenging. My diving partner is dramatically more experienced, has worked Nat Geo dives in Mexico, dove essentially all springs in the state of Fla, recovered bodies, done 6 mile mapping penetrations, has multiple cave creatures named for him. I am not at his level, but I am safe to go on the more moderate dives.

I don´t think I would want to dive and accept the challenges in this Thai cave.

In the conditions they were in, opaque water, tight passages, VERY long distances - it is exponentially more difficult. It requires zero errors under extremely difficult conditions.

He is a real life, no BS hero. That word is thrown around a bit too easily, but he really did earn it, to a certainty. He risked his life many times to help others survive. THAT is a hero.

Condolences to Dr. Harris for the loss of his father. Praying he does not experience any health issues because of his heroism.
It is remarkable that only one person lost their life in this ordeal.

The Prince of Wales has revealed that on a Sunday night he likes nothing better than sitting down and watching the latest episode of hit TV drama Poldark. Charles’ admission came when he visited a Cornish bookshop as he started his annual visit to the West Country and stumbled across some of the novels of Poldark writer Winston Graham. As he chatted to Ann and David Willmore, owners of Bookends – a bookshop in the town of Fowey, he told them: “What I can’t get over watching that Poldark stuff on the television, is just how many he wrote.”

Vladimir Putin has denied Russia interfered in the 2016 US elections, with Donald Trump repeating denials of collusion between his campaign and the Kremlin. The Russian leader said there was "no evidence" of a conspiracy, a viewpoint he reiterated during talks between the two heads of state in Helsinki on Monday. Mr Trump said that he raised the topic during the two-hour summit, but warned the divisive issue and subsequent Mueller investigation had soured relations between the US and Russia. He conceded that the FBI advised him Russia was guilty of hacking, but appeared to side with the Russian leader´s denial. "President Putin says

British firms trading with Iran could be slapped with punitive sanctions within weeks after Donald Trump rebuffed their pleas for exemptions. The US President pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal - which eased sanctions on Tehran in return for a stop to their nuclear programme - earlier this year. The EU had lobbied the White House to exempt European companies from the hefty levies, which are set to be put on firms trading in the Middle East country. But American Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the US rejected the appeal because it wants to exert the maximum pressure possible on Iran. Britain

The body of John Hearring -- known as Nicholas -- was discovered with head trauma in his upstairs apartment in the 1000-block of North Leamington Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood. Multiple family members confirmed that he had 43 children. Hearring was a long-time resident there and well-known in the neighborhood. "He was the nicest man you´d ever want to meet. I don´t get it.
