BRUSSELS - European Council President Donald Tusk told U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday to stop berating NATO allies over military investment levels ahead of what is expected to be a fraught alliance summitBefore flying to Brussels where he arrived on Tuesday night, Trump again chided fellow NATO members for not contributing enough while maintaining a trade surplus with the United States, his latest reprimand on issues that are straining transatlantic relations. “Dear America, appreciate your allies, after all you don’t have that many,” Tusk, a former Polish prime minister, said after a signing statement on more cooperation between the European

From another source:

Stunningly confrontational remarks today from EU President Donald Tusk as U.S. President Trump and First Lady Melania arrive in Brussels for a NATO summit.

After destroying nationalistic Brexit plans for the U.K. to exit the European Union, the insufferable arrogance of the EU surfaces with pontificating snark.

The EU might feel emboldened right now, but this approach will not end well; believe me.

I guess Tusk is too stupid to see the irony of this statement. If we are allies, then why are they disrespecting us by not paying the 2% they pledged to pay for NATO and why do they have unfair tariffs on US goods imported to the EU. What a hypocrite.

Tusk doesn´t know that you don´t fool around with The Donald. Our President wants the EU to pay their fair share, no more, no less. NATO is an obsolete organization need of reform if it were to survive. Times have changed. Henry Kissinger (like him or not) was saying this back when he was at State. The EU has destroyed Europe.

“Of the 29 allies, only the United States, Britain, Estonia, Greece and Poland met the (defense spending) goal of 2% of GDP in 2017.”

The other 24 “allies” prefer to hold our coat in a fight and then criticize us for fighting too hard. As to defense spending, see the story earlier this week of German soldiers having to use broom sticks in military exercise because they lacked weapons. At least the broom sticks were painted black.

Future headline: “German army invades France. Retreating French soldiers treated for splinters and pokes in their eyes.”

So, the idea is, even allies that take advantage of your generosity and then count on you to risk your safety, treasure and lives of your young men to protect them instead of their own are better than no allies at all?

I suggest different, better, more equal allies are better than these weakling dependent allies of the Euroweeny class. We should be best pals with Russia, India, Japan than these jokers. think about it- in modern times, why has the US been the constant savior of Europe- in WWI, WWII and the cold war...they have become unweaned babies to the US defense teat. Time for Europe to grow up and become adults now.

Friends don´t demand that their allies continue to pay the bills long after the need is no longer there. Friends don´t react angrily when the payee no longer wants to pay. Friends do not react angrily when ally wants to renegotiate the payments.

I could go on, but basically, a true friend does not turn on you when you close your wallet on them. They understand if you can no longer foot the bill.

These friends were purchased long ago, and are not true friends. They are like the posse of the rap star who funds the continual party. When the money is gone, so are the fair weather friends.

If we’re to believe the recent NATO summit’s communique and the mainstream media’s commentaries about it, the alliance serves roughly the same essential purpose today as it did in 1948, and Americans had better heed European Council President Donald Tusk’s thinly veiled warning: rein in President Trump’s criticisms of NATO, because its members are about the only allies America has got. But although the people who run today’s European and American societies are perhaps closer to each other than in 1948—which accounts for their dogged defense of “the alliance”—in fact, they themselves have changed in ways that obviate the purposes for

FBI agent Peter Strzok held one of the most important national security positions in the entire bloated federal government. Strzok was the chief of the counterespionage section of the FBI. While working in that capacity, Strzok oversaw the FBI’s much-maligned investigation into Hillary Clinton’s personal email server. After 2016, Strzok was promoted to deputy director of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division. Peel all of the layers of investigative schemes, intelligence deception, false and distracting media narratives -including Mueller- and what lies beneath it all is the weaponized use of database-collected material for political surveillance and exploitation. The indictment Friday of 12 Russian military officers for the election hacks against the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign lends a surprising new detail to the 2016 election interference timeline: The Kremlin’s hackers apparently still maintained a foothold in the DNC’s network four months after the Democrats announced that they’d locked the intruders out.
