Democratic Rep. Sean Patrick
Maloney, congressional tampon champ

American Thinker, by Monica Showalter

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 7/8/2018 2:05:59 PM

Have you heard about the all-important tampon controversy on Capitol Hill? Apparently, there´s a dispute about who pays for tampons in dispensing machines and whether tampons should be provided free of charge in the congressional women´s restrooms (and I guess, men´s, too, given the sensitivities to the transgender population these days). Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.) is making this his business, teaming up with lefty Rep. Grace Meng (D-N.Y.), stating together in a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan: “We implore you… [to] make feminine hygiene products available to those who need them,” the letter reads.

Comments:
Pandering to feminists - in the grossest way imaginable.

Seriously, if female/LGBTGWXYZ Congressional members and staffers can´t afford feminine hygiene products, perhaps it´s because they aren´t being paid enough?

Or spending the money in the wrong place.

How did women survive the last 2018 years before these two morons decided they needed to come to the rescue?

Seriously, it´s beyond insulting!

In my fertile days, I would bring my own to work or put a quarter in the bathroom dispenser. Why do congressional employees need to have the taxpayers fund their feminine hygiene? This is the stupidest thing I´ve heard of out of congress lately, and there have been a lot of stupid things to choose from!

There are millions of people who need similar personal products that are not covered by insurance.

There are millions of women who in a "emergency" situation found a way to improvise.

I´ve never been on "The Pill" (another thing the demand be free) but from what I´ve read, many women have a reduced or no need for these products.

Misuse of tampons has been linked directly to Toxic Shock syndrome. Would this make the providers (us) libel for anyone who contracts it?

It IS AN insulting stupid proposal...if passed when would it ever end?

I used to work in a warehouse that had machines in the women´s rooms. We politely asked the company if they would mind providing them for nothing, and they agreed.

I suppose if they had seen supplies disappearing like mad (people stocking up) they would have rescinded, but apparently that never happened.
