DOJ employee who chased Secretary Kirstjen

Federal Hatch Act investigators have opened a complaint file on the Justice Department employee who was part of a mob that chased Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen from a restaurant earlier last month. The U.S. Office of Special Counsel, which polices employees who illegally engage in politicking as government employees, has assigned a case number and a lawyer to the complaint against Allison Hrabar. Ms. Hrabar, a paralegal at the Justice Department, was part of a group from the Democratic Socialists of America that showed up at a Mexican restaurant to disrupt Ms. Nielsen’s meal. Their protest was filmed and posted online. Ms.

So a person who works for the Department of Justice, harasses a sitting cabinet member and chases her from a restaurant because she doesn´t like the fact that The Secretary is enforcing laws enacted by Congress?

I know she´s only a paralegal but you´d think that that enforcement of our laws was a basic premise of the job, and understood by all.

These people are insane...she should be fired. If not, what DO you have to do to get fired in that town?

Off topic, but does anyone know what it takes to get a naturalized American citizen deported? Does breaking the law three times qualify for a trip back to your native land? My ´representative´ Pramila Jayapal is from India and has been arrested three times protesting the arresting of illegals.

Her apparent political Tweeting during work hours is the fireable offense, especially if it involved government equipment and it was related to this event intended to harass a government agent.

The Hatch Act was disemboweled under Bush41, and does not prohibit what Hrabar did. Political activity is activity directed at the success or failure of a political party,
candidate for partisan political office, or partisan political group. (Neither applicable.)

"Political activity" is only prohibited while the employee is on duty, in any federal room or building, while wearing a uniform or official insignia, or using any federally owned or leased vehicle. (None apparently the circumstances.)

The Hatch Act needs to be restored/expanded to prohibit ANY political activity, even the most mundane, whether partisan or issue-oriented. One takes the King´s shilling and surrenders political activity "rights". The public has a right to honest, fair service in accordance with the laws.

Nunes: Mueller indictment

In a tweet Sunday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., a member and former chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, boiled down special counsel Robert Mueller´s new Russian election-meddling indictment to one basic lesson: "Key point in Special Counsel Mueller´s indictment: A dozen Russian military intelligence officials conducted the hacking of Democrats during the 2016 campaign." Other commentators, most with less knowledge than Feinstein, offered similar assessments. Regardless of what President Trump might say, they noted, the indictment showed very clearly that the Russians — Russian military intelligence, specifically — did it. What few mentioned was that there had been a similar assessment —

It is hard to think of a demarche quite like the blast President Trump just delivered in respect of Brexit. It came in the form of an interview with the London daily Sun, in which Mr. Trump lit into Prime Minister Theresa May for making a bollix of Britain’s exit from the European Union. He’d told her how to do it, he claimed, and she failed to take his advice. This hit the internet as Mr. Trump was finishing his dinner with Mrs. May, and scores of others, at Blenheim Palace.

CNN’s senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin seems bent on taking home the trophy for the most molten meltdown. The mounting frustration with the Republican president is a warning sign for the party amid what’s been a surprisingly favorable stretch.
