Mixed-Race Family Asks Ice Cream Company

A Louisiana mother of six children and foster mother to other children has a mixed-race family whose children thought that Blue Bell Ice Cream should change the name of a popular chocolate and vanilla ice cream flavor, The Great Divide, to “Better Together.” As Fox News reports, “Traci Schmidley, her husband, and their brood of six children were sitting down for an ice cream party at their Louisiana home to celebrate the end of a hard week.” Schmidley wrote, “We always buy Blue Bell, and this time we chose the flavor The Great Divide, which has chocolate on one half

Next, she will be demanding that the term, ´day´ and ´night´ be changed to be more inclusive. Some contrasts are obvious except to liberals who believe the world, as it exist in nature, is racist.

The family is divided. Some prefer chocolate, some vanilla, some both.

The great divide brings our family together.

Chocolate ice cream is ice cream in blackface.
The stuff should just be banned.

Is it cultural appropriation for a white man to like chocolate ice cream and a black man to like vanilla? /s
Better Together ought to be the name of a vanilla chocolate swirl.

Oh dear, they´re into ice cream now. Around where I live, it´s called a Twist, in reference to soft ice cream. Actually, I call it good, no matter the color or flavor so long as it is ice cream in some form.
The vanilla and the chocolate are flavors, not the colors.

Have you ever tried to reason anything out with these people? Me neither. I value my sanity or whatever is left of it.

They should leave The Great Divide alone, because the contrast is wonderful, and maybe, perhaps, on a lark, make another with the flavors combined.

So if you prefer vanilla over chocolate, you are discriminating and are in need of sensitivity and diversity re-education, regarding your vanilla supremacy. Will Blue Bell be providing "safe spaces" where the ice cream cannot melt while people ponder this?

Ya know what, folks? It´s ice cream. Not everything must be a point of contention. For what it´s worth - ´Better Together" is no more indicator of flavor than "Great Divide". But it does sound more harmonious. These folks had the ´nads to ask a great big company to consider a change, in a quite personal, teaching moment sort of way. Isn´t that what our POTUS is demonstrating? Make the change - splash the family photo a couple times. Geeze. Life is short. Have some fun and love your fellow compatriots along the way. We buy the ice cream, we eat the ice cream - why can´t we have some fun (read: ´fun´) input about the naming of the ice cream. And it´s Blue Bunny. Not like it´s Ben and Jarrods or anything. Put me down for "Better Together". And to the family...Good on y´all for speakin´ up. Good Luck!!

JOHANNESBURG — Without ever mentioning President Donald Trump by name, former U.S. President Barack Obama on Tuesday took aim at “strongman politics” in his highest-profile speech since leaving office, urging people around the world to respect human rights and other values now under threat in an impassioned address marking the 100th anniversary of anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela’s birth. Obama’s speech to a cheering crowd of thousands in South Africa countered many of Trump’s policies, rallying people around the world to keep alive the ideas that Mandela worked for including democracy, diversity and tolerance. While the mainstream media, Democrats and the Never-Trump crowd clutched their pearls over President Trump and Vladimir Putin’s summit on Monday, a major bombshell was overlooked. During the highly publicized joint press conference the Russian President not only called US. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s bluff on the indictment of 12 Russian officials, but blasted former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton for nefarious activities. President Trump arrived back in America to calls of ´treason´ after his heavily-criticized summit with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki. Trump´s critics and some of his allies lined up to bash the President after he appeared to side with Putin over his own security services when asked about Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Former CIA director John Brennan said Trump´s remarks were ´treasonous´ while Newt Gingrich, usually a supporter of Trump, accused him of making ´the most serious mistake of his presidency´. In the House and Senate races, Democrats are stealthily pouring in tons of money early to demonize Republican candidates before our supporters become engaged. It was 1979. I was 17 years old and I had the opportunity to visit the divided city of Berlin, Germany. Berlin was split in two, making the contrasts within the artificially-divided city incredibly stark. There was the free West Berlin, and there was the socialist East Berlin. A wall separated the two to prevent people in the socialist East from escaping to the free West. People in the East risked death to escape from its unnatural, godless shackles and the ever-present Stasi, the secret police that spied on the people. Don’t get me wrong. People in East Germany were
