Obama cyber chief confirms ´stand down´ order

WASHINGTON — The Obama White House’s chief cyber official testified Wednesday that proposals he was developing to counter Russia’s attack on the U.S. presidential election were put on a “back burner” after he was ordered to “stand down” his efforts in the summer of 2016. The comments by Michael Daniel, who served as White House “cyber security coordinator” between 2012 and January of last year, provided his first public confirmation of a much-discussed passage in the book, “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump,” co-written by this reporter and David Corn,

Tinfoil hat theory: Is it possible that Hillary through her personal server was directly in contact with someone in Russia. 33,000 emails that were destroyed in defiance of the law tells me there´s something very large and damning in those communications.

So this whole thing was a far more coordinated attack against a potentially new President than what was originally thought. So, what IF hILLary had won, what would she have done with this Russian intervention in our election? Would she have used it to turn the screws on Vlad and force him and his billionaire friends to donate more money to Clinton "charities" worldwide? Would she have then shrugged it off and not brought U.S. sanctions against Russia? Evil Democrats always construct things so they can have it both ways. When you lie and ignore the rule of law, you can get away with murder... as the Clinton´s clearly have.

I´m tired of the spin. I´m throwing the BS flag on everyone. FTA "They came during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing into how the Obama administration dealt with Russian cyber and information warfare attacks in 2016, an issue that has become one of the more politically sensitive subjects in the panel’s ongoing investigation into Russia’s interference in the U.S. election and any links to the Trump campaign.".

Why is it always the" Russia´s interference...any links to Trump" and not simply "Russia´s interference in the election" or "Russia´s interference in the election...any links to Hillary campaign". I think time has proven that if there was anything going on in the campaigns it was all in Hillary´s corner.

BS flag is thrown and on the field...

A Conservative Court Push Decades in the
Making, With Effects for Decades to Come
New York Times, by Peter Baker    Original Article

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s selection of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court on Monday culminates a three-decade project unparalleled in American history to install a reliable conservative majority on the nation’s highest tribunal, one that could shape the direction of the law for years to come. All of the years of vetting and grooming and lobbying and list-making by conservative legal figures frustrated by Republican appointees who drifted to the left arguably has come down to this moment, when they stand on the precipice of appointing a fifth justice who, they hope, will at last establish a bench

Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump’s new nominee for the Supreme Court, is a whip-smart legal conservative. As a judge in the highest-profile appeals court in the nation, he has shown an exemplary dedication to the rule of law. He has defended the separation of powers against threats coming from multiple directions. He has repeatedly cautioned his colleagues on the bench not to attempt to play a legislative role. He has also insisted on enforcing constitutional structures of accountability on government agencies. He has vindicated the right to free speech (against certain campaign-finance regulations), to bear arms (against the D.C.

The president’s choice of Brett Kavanaugh to serve as the next justice on the Supreme Court sets off a months-long confirmation process that will ultimately be decided by a critical group of senators. In a Senate with 50 voting Republicans and 49 who vote as Democrats, Kavanaugh can be scuttled if just one Republican votes "no," but can be saved if every "no" from a Republican is met with at least one "yes" by a Democrat. That means every vote matters, especially among a handful of Republicans and Democrats who have the potential to vote with the other party. Here’s who to

In the viciously cynical American political environment where we now live, it no longer is about quality and competence, skills and ability. It is about destruction of the opponent: destroy them, their character, their children, their family. Just destroy them. For example, let’s show pictures of a girl crying at the southern border when her mother puts her down for a moment — and then let’s tweet that we hope that the President’s child gets kidnapped and sexually abused. Let’s destroy that kid. Let’s destroy Melania. She never hurt anyone. Seems a really decent person. Many women that famous, that rich

The FBI has slowly been producing documents to the DOJ Inspector General and various Congressional committees. As the process continues, more information comes out about the FBI’s attempt to cement the 2016 presidential election for Hillary Clinton. This piece by John Solomon in The Hill is two days old, but I don’t think it has received as much attention as it deserves. Solomon’s reporting evidently is based on information from sources in Congressional committees or perhaps the FBI or the IG’s office. Justice is coming for unions that forced non-members to pay "non-political" agency fees that went to prop up Democratic candidates. Last month, the Supreme Court ruled that forcing workers who disagree with a union to make these payments anyway violates the workers´ First Amendment rights. Less than a week after that ruling, Janus v. Association of Federal, State, City, and Municipal Employees (FSCME), seven California teachers have filed a class-action lawsuit to recoup unjustly forced fees. The word today, for what it’s worth, is that President Trump is still undecided about whom to nominate to the Supreme Court, and that four judges are in the running. The candidates are said to be Raymond Kethledge, Brett Kavanaugh, Thomas Hardiman, and Amy Coney Barrett. Hardiman, by the way, was said to be Trump’s second choice when he nominated Neal Gorsuch. (Snip)For me, the key is selecting a confirmable nominee from among this stellar group. To do so, it’s worth considering the views of the man who will spearhead the confirmation battle, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

“Abolish ICE” makes for a good rallying cry on the left. Demanding the abolition of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency also provides President Trump with a useful weapon for bludgeoning Democrats politically. He has said as much, and a good portion of the American public will listen to him. I recently wrote here to condemn the administration’s now-abandoned practice of separating children from their migrant parents. Now I write to oppose calls to abolish ICE. The reality is that abolishing ICE is not a serious policy proposal; it’s about as serious as the claim that Mexico’s “gonna pay for the wall.” Elections

WASHINGTON — Democratic senators running for re-election in Trump Country face an agonizing choice over President Trump’s coming Supreme Court nominee: Vote to confirm the pick and risk demoralizing Democratic voters ahead of the midterm elections, or stick with the party and possibly sacrifice their own seats — and any chance at a Democratic majority in 2019. The actions of a handful of Senate Democrats struggling to hold their seats in red states where Mr. Trump remains popular — notably Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Joe Donnelly of Indiana and Joe Manchin III of West Virginia — will have broad implications

Liberals are furious that President Trump will have the opportunity to appoint another justice to the Supreme Court, thus cementing a conservative majority for the foreseeable future. Moreover, liberals are upset that the Trump administration may have convinced Justice Anthony Kennedy to recently announce his retirement, viewing that effort as dirty pool. That Kennedy, age 81, is nobody’s fool – and is unlikely to have been manipulated – appears irrelevant. The real offense, which actually merits outrage from the left, is that
