The fall of James Brien Comey
Spectator USA, by Byron York

Original Article

For the last few months, James Brien Comey, the FBI director fired by Donald Trump in the midst of the Russia investigation, has presented himself as the Last Honest Man as he toured the country selling books and taking potshots at the president. How self-righteous is Comey? In the midst of the Russia maelstrom, he posted to his Instagram account a photo of the Potomac River falls outside Washington, adding a biblical quote: “Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” Now, justice is rolling in Comey’s direction, with the revelation that he is under investigation for

One more time, about Michael Flynn:

In lieu of uncovering collusion with Russia, Mueller has settled for charging Trump figures with lying — a so-called process crime that would not have occurred without the investigation itself. Flynn, for example, is not charged with any wrongdoing in his role as Trump adviser — not in his conversations with the Russian ambassador, not in the decisions he made in the Trump campaign, not in his December 2015 attendance at a dinner in Moscow (in which he sat next to Vladimir Putin) — not in any of that. Instead, Flynn is accused, and has pleaded guilty to, not telling the truth to FBI agents who questioned him about his entirely lawful actions. At the time, of course, those agents were working for FBI director James Comey.

Comey saw himself as THE arbiter of justice and a kingmaker. His true role was an investigator to determine fact; a very critical role but not as glamorous as he might wish.

However, it was his great sanctimony that is going to cause him the most damage. The Left, desperate to get Trump, loved the image of the "pure" cop out to get the horrible Trump. It sounded convincing. Comey is an artist at his "better than thou" presentation.

But he had a problem. He couldn´t seem to shut up. He started to contradict himself, the most obvious signs of a liar. As evidence was exposed, it showed that Comey lied or VERY creatively embellished the facts. Comey´s reputation was now in significant doubt.

THE IG´s report, ironically, did to Comey what Comey did to Hillary; it publicly scolded him for being a VERY bad boy. His reputation was officially destroyed.

He deserved this and more. It will be quite funny if Comey gets jail for mishandling classified documents while Hillary is walking around free after Comey exonerated her for doing the same thing to a MUCH higher degree. 350,000 emails on Carlos Danger´s computer? That´s a bit of a security breach. One might call it GROSS negligence.

It´s also pretty funny to see Comey expressing that he thinks Hillary should be grateful for him exonerating her while she and her minions excoriate her for costing her the election. If she had won, she would have fired him in a heartbeat.

Knowing Comey and his ego as we do, he is likely saying, "when both sides hate you, you must be doing a good job."
If someone has to be the scapegoat and go to jail for illegal acts as a government employee, I can´t think of a better choice.
The real reason that no one at the FBI wanted to nail Hillary is that they were all doing the same thing - playing fast and loose with the rules of communication, using classification to hide information from the public, while ignoring the need to protect real state secrets.

I think he also planned to blackmail Hillary if she won. He would dangled the e-mail investigation over her head in exchange for free reign at the FBI. When that blew up in his face he tried to entrap Trump. Of course nothing quite worked out as planned.

I sincerely hope to see Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, and more in DoJ and FBI in jail.

And Hellary needs to be indicted for her serious, intentional, repeated, malicious mishandling of classified e-mails and obstruction of justice by deleting emails.

And, I will repeat, if any official investigation REALLY wants those emails, it is 100% certain that NSA has them stored, along with ALL other emails ever sent in the last decade or more. The only way they don´t have them is if someone inside NSA, with a lot of authority, has located them and erased them from the NSA data storage system.

Get out the fainting couches! President Trump is in Europe, and once again he is saying the unsayable. The occasion is the NATO summit that began today in Brussels. Trump fired an opening salvo that included two themes, as reported by Bloomberg. The first is that Germany, in particular, undermines the alliance’s defenses against Russia by being too dependent on Russian natural gas: “It’s very sad when Germany makes a massive oil and gas deal with Russia where we’re supposed to be guarding against Russia and Germany goes out and pays billions and billions of dollars a year to Russia,” Trump

Papa John’s founder John Schnatter resigned as the company’s chairman on Wednesday night after fallout over his use of the n-word during a conference call. The company released a statement that said the directors had accepted Schnatter’s resignation. “Papa John’s will appoint a new Chairman in a couple of weeks,” the statement read. Forbes reported earlier on Wednesday that Schnatter used the n-word on a conference call in May. The call was specifically designed as a role-playing exercise to prevent future public-relations disasters. “Colonel Sanders called blacks n—–s,” Schnatter said, before complaining that Sanders never faced public backlash.

President Donald Trump will have to learn some new names in London. Earlier this week, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and David Davis, who led Britain’s arrangements for exiting the EU, resigned out of dissatisfaction with the government’s plans for Brexit. On the surface, this looks like a bad time for Trump to arrive. Actually, it’s ideal. The resignations happened because much of the British government — including Prime Minister Theresa May — treat Brexit as a problem to be managed, not an opportunity to be exploited. Most Tory activists want to leave the EU, as does a narrow majority of Conservative Members

He’s a perfect 21 for 21 in confirming the federal appeals-court nominees of President Trump, with more to come this year. Given the thin margin he has to work with, this is impressive. Mr. McConnell adopted as his top priority as Senate majority leader an ambitious effort to make the federal courts more conservative—from top to bottom. There’s only one way to do this—fill every judicial vacancy with a conservative. For Mr. McConnell, this is a war.
