Bias and the beholder
Jewish World Review, by Cal Thomas

Original Article

Would you consider a jihadist biased against Jews? Could a member of a white supremacist group be accused of bias against non-whites? The Justice Department´s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, and FBI Director Christopher Wray claim the 500-plus-page report found no "documented" evidence that political bias at the FBI directly influenced the findings in the Clinton investigation or the Justice Department´s decision not to prosecute the former secretary of state. People in "flyover country" are more likely to believe pigs can fly than they are to accept that political bias did not expose a clear intent to damage presidential candidate Donald

Comments:
Indeed, “people in ‘flyover country’ are more likely to believe pigs fly" than the malarkey coming from ethically challenged politicians and their cohorts in the mainstream media. Kudos to Cal Thomas for expressing the points of view, the conventional wisdom, shared by numerous Ldotters.

EVERYBODY has political bias.
Criminalizing the bias of the losing side is what tinhorn dictators do.
Do we really want this done to us when we lose? And we won´t always win.
We yelped when Soetoro shut down groups on our side, both inside and outside government, and rightly so.
Conservatives are starting to listen to the sirens of tyranny and participating in the disassembly of this free Republic.

Clearly in the minds of ordinary Americans who have been paying attention, the professional reputation of the FBI has been ruined by the obvious politicization of the top level managers at FBI Headquarters in DC. Both Democrats and Republicans should worry about that happening, as what goes around comes around. All that is going to make it very hard for street level FBI Agents conducting legitimate investigations to do their work, as you would have to either be crazy or a complete moron to talk with an FBI Agent now without first consulting a lawyer.

Democrats hold a massive voter lead in states that require party registration, a gap of 12 million that could be key to whether the party takes control of the House and Senate in the fall midterm congressional elections, according to a new analysis. Overall, 40 percent of voters in 31 party registration states are Democrats, 29 percent are Republicans, and 28 percent are independents, according to a new report of July numbers from the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. The states include several with key battles over House seats such as California, New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

Kansas Gov. Jeff Colyer wants the University of Kansas to send a desecrated American flag back to wherever it came from. “Return to sender,” the Republican governor said on The Todd Starnes Radio Show. “Desecrating a flag and then flying it over a taxpayer funded building? That’s completely wrong. It was disgraceful.” The desecrated flag had been raised on the university campus as a political protest against President Trump and his immigration policies. It was part of an art installation sponsored by the Spencer Museum of Art titled, “Pledges of Allegiance.” After the art installation caused national outrage, the governor

U.S. House members proved Thursday that they are more interested in political posturing and getting on TV with fiery soundbites than in fact-finding, as they questioned FBI official Peter Strzok about whether his anti-Trump bias influenced the investigation of the Trump presidential campaign for possible collusion with Russia. Acting like they were cast members on a reality TV show–yelling, interrupting each other, and hurling insults–members of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees spent almost 10 hours alternately attacking and defending Strzok, a suspended FBI deputy assistant director. When Donald Trump started running for the Republican nomination for president in June 2015, he began by attacking the Republican establishment in Washington, and he began his attack by calling the establishment "the swamp." His real target was the permanent government and its enablers in the legal, financial, diplomatic and intelligence communities in Washington. These entities hover around power centers no matter which party is in power. Beneath the swamp, Trump argued, lies the deep state. (Snip) On Monday night, he rewarded the swamp denizens and deep state outliers by nominating one of their own to the Supreme Court.

Patriots in the Heartland are furious after the University of Kansas raised a defaced American flag on campus. And it was intentional. The Episcopal Church formed a committee Wednesday to “provide a pathway” toward revising the Book of Common Prayer to include gender-neutral language. Church leaders called for immediate revisions to correct the “overwhelming use of masculine language” throughout the book, arguing that the language is now a hindrance to spiritual inclusion, according to the Episcopal Church website. (Snip) Kathleen Moore, a seminarian from the Diocese of Vermont, said she tries to help the youth see that gendered language gets in the way of faith in God. “Let’s let God be God,” Moore told the religious news agency.

Republicans in the hearing went after Strzok, Strzok went after them, Democrats and Republicans fought with and talked over each other, and voters got another reason to either cheer or boo depending on who was talking at the moment. So Donald Trump went to a NATO summit, insulted our allies, then made the absurd demand not just that they increase defense spending — which they should — but that they raise it to 4 percent of G.D.P., much higher than the bloated military spending in his own budget. He then claimed, falsely, to have won major concessions, and graciously declared that it is “presently unnecessary” to consider quitting the alliance. Was there anything our allies could have done that would have mollified him? The answer, surely, is no. For Trump, disrupting NATO doesn’t seem to be a means to an

Talk about putting the “p” in “protest.” George Lopez, an outspoken and frequent critic of President Donald Trump, pretended to urinate on the POTUS’ Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Tuesday. Clutching a small water bottle, Lopez, 57, greeted fans before squeezing the bottle over the star from his own crotch area, perhaps in reference to the elusive “pee tape” Trump was rumored to have back in 2017. The comedian even included a small shake for effect, much to the delight of onlookers and fans nearby. Once he was tapped out of water, he told his crew, “Alright, let’s go.”
