The White House press corps
is broken beyond repair

Washington Times, by Joseph Curl

It all really began with Sam Donaldson. Back in the days of Ronald Reagan, the brash and cantankerous reporter with the worst toupee in television history made his name by yelling at the president. He’d yell at him at White House events, on the South Lawn (where Reagan would pretend he couldn’t hear Donaldson over the chopper blades of Marine One), even in the Rose Garden. His aggressiveness (read: bad behavior) made Donaldson one of the first “star” reporters at the White House. (He was voted best television correspondent in 1986, ‘87, ‘88 and ‘89 by readers of the Washington Journalism

Why can´t she just come out, make her statements for the Administration and then leave without taking questions? It´s not like the ´Press" contributes anything.

Any questioner who steps out of line should have his or her press pass revoked for two weeks. The bad behavior will stop.

This is so easily solved.

1.) Questions are asked on a lottery system, and/or
2.) Take questions in advance, and/or
3.) Take the TV camera out of the room, and/or
4.) If a reporter gets nasty, tell him/her to stand in a designated "Time Out" area

I am beyond weary of the vile, vicious, rude, ignorant fake news critters who infest the Press Room. Pull the plug, eliminate the Daily Press Room hysteria.

These jackals grandstand for money, not for a news story. When they cause an uproar, they are invited to every Demonrat controlled media station to continue to hector with their sick talking points.

These press weasels are paid for these appearances. Each liar is able to make an additional $30,000 to $250,000 a year to spread the hate.

Pull the plug on them and the scam for fame and $$$. Imagine making a quarter of a million dollars a year for spouting fake outrage. What a bunch of jacknapes.

White House press coverage is a crucial facet of the Washington soap opera that the deep state needs to air in order to distract citizens. The White House still plays along, even with famous but dull show-offs, so the White House must need them as much as they need the White House. However, maybe it is time for the brains in the Press Office to rethink this arrangement. The People are getting weary of the arrogant peacocks and slobs who infest the legitimate press and seem to be monopolizing the questions and direction of press conferences as reported in the MSM. Mr. Karem and the rest of the herd are not there to change the world or give voice to the poor who read Playboy and Penny Saver. He is there to ask occasional questions, report answers and let his readers decide.

I fully and wholeheartedly agree with the idea of "Freedom of The Press" ... however ... there is absolutely ZERO mention of "white house press briefings". Transparency in Govt. is good , but there is no reason to allow rude, crude, impolite, crass behavior in any interaction with people, especially when dealing with matters like this. To yell at the president is the height of brashness at the level of gutter dwellers.
If I was asked for a solution , I´d say give press handouts daily for one month, letting them howl all they want and NOT give any explanation. After one month issue the reason and then watch ´em squeal even more.
At some point start ´em again with the proviso that it could be done again .... permanently

Rudeness should get a one week removal of press credentials for the White House. Second time, four weeks.

Third time - permanent ban from White House admission via press pass.

Civil behavior should be a non-negotiable issue, just that simple.

There is no reason that these arrogant, self-important members of the WH press corps should get the special treatment that they do. They should be removed from their cushy facilities in the WH and put in one of the annexes where they could do their jobs and let in the WH only for special events. They should also have to find their own way to any travel locations of the president instead of riding on AF1. If they can´t make it, so what. Those like Acosta and others should have their press passes revoked and their organizations told that if they want a rep at WH press briefings, they would need to send someone else. The WH press corps has come to think of themselves as more important than the President or any other member of the nation. Acosta´s comment after the NK meeting is a perfect example of that thinking. They have long ago quit being journalists and have become just rude partisans hiding behind the 1st Amendment.

Freedom of the press is not freedom to lie. That is all they do. The daily briefings should stop. Send them all to a room with no windows across the street or in a basement somewhere. Put a TV and do a presser remote. No questions. Ah, and no chairs in the room with only one bathroom so they are not confused which bathroom to use. Keep them there all day and do the remote briefings at the time of the WH choosing. When they do profanity and insult the Press Secretary, take away their credentials.

It´s like anything, when it gets out of hand it needs to be gotten under control. Seems the WH Press Secretary needs to have a conversation with the president of the WH Correspondents Association and lay down some rules of behavior...and then enforce them. It was "cute" with Sam Donaldson, now it´s a worn out schtick that is embarrassing at world events, such as the recent summit.

WOW! There are so many great suggestions here.
In prisons, if one person misbehaves (ie grows MJ in their personal garden), everyone is punished(gotta destroy all gardens mid-July).
If one person misbehaves, cancel the next daily briefing. The press secretary will post the announcement/news so EVERYONE(the public) can read it.
Or switch to a weekly briefing at 4 PM on Fridays in a room with benches and poor air circulation.

Right. As an old codger I remember when the "4th Estate" was as fine and unobtrusive in America as the 2nd Amendment. But now days, that very "estate" is trying to demolish the 2nd Amendment rights, most of everyone else´s 1st Amendment rights, and ANY connection with ANY religion. At the same time most rational people are fully cognizant that we do not have ANY need for the current "4th Estate", but do still need the 2nd Amendment and OUR 1st Amendment rights.

TEL AVIV — The Mossad agents moving in on a warehouse in a drab commercial district of Tehran knew exactly how much time they had to disable the alarms, break through two doors, cut through dozens of giant safes and get out of the city with a half-ton of secret materials: six hours and 29 minutes. “They caught the witches.” Those were the celebratory words of John Podesta, chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, in response to the indictment Friday of 12 Russian military intelligence officers for hacking efforts linked to the 2016 election. President Trump outraged European opinion by denouncing his allies on the far side of the Atlantic for their failure to meet NATO’s spending target of 2% of GDP. Why is it that none of the former Ohio State University wrestlers are claiming to have told Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, they were “sexually abused,” but the media keep saying they did? And it’s striking how “sexual abuse” is a phrase only used by news reports describing what happened at the school, while none of the school’s former wrestlers who were coached by Jordan are quoted recalling it that way at the time. Rather than horrific accounts of being physically violated, most of the ex-wrestlers actually describe remembering their experience with the creepy Dr. Richard Strauss as something more like fraternity hazing.

A man who beats his wife then cries in remorse is a wife-beater. That´s all he is. When he stops punching her — stops for good — then he has a chance to become something else.
