Maybe you think of yourself as a person who really, really loves candy. Maybe there is even a particular kind or brand of candy that stimulates your dopamine receptors most of all, throwing you into sheer sugared bliss and delight. But is there a candy you love so much that you would name your child after it? Eric and Renee Cupp of Elizabethtown, North Carolina, said that yes, in fact, there is. With the last name "Cupp," Eric and Renee deliberately chose their daughter´s name, Reese Eve, after their favorite peanut butter and chocolate treat. And now, the family has won $10,000 in the Reese's Outrageous Fan contest in tribute to that

Comments:

Jeanine Pirro gave a glowing assessment of Donald Trump’s chances for 2020, saying that if the president decides to run for re-election, he would probably be unbeatable. “I have to tell you. I don’t think he can be beat right now. I think the left is so disorganized,” Pirro told TheWrap in an interview Tuesday, saying that she could not think of a single Democrat who could pose a credible threat to Trump in 2020. “They are just making fools of themselves. They protest and they are not even sure what they’re protesting,” she added. “If you say something that

Although not yet even halfway through his first term, President Donald Trump got 19 percent to place him in fourth place, ahead of both Bushes, John F. Kennedy and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The couple wed in Rome in 1998 one year after meeting in Sarajevo, Bosnia, over "late-night margaritas." Amanpour, 60, and Rubin, 58, share an 18-year-old son, Darius. WASHINGTON — Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, has asked federal prosecutors to help review the government documents of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, according to a letter obtained by The New York Times on Wednesday. Mr. Rosenstein’s request was an unusual insertion of politics into federal law enforcement. While the Justice Department has helped work on previous Supreme Court nominations, department lawyers in Washington typically carry out that task, not prosecutors who pursue criminal investigations nationwide. But in an email sent this week to the nation’s 93 United States attorneys, Mr. Rosenstein asked each

A Democratic proposal to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement would shutter the agency, probe whether its agents had flouted international law, and create a special commission to rethink how the federal government handles asylum seekers and undocumented immigrants. The text of Rep. Mark Pocan´s "Abolish ICE" bill, obtained Tuesday by The Washington Post, was sent to House Democrats as they returned from the Fourth of July recess. The legislation, still being tweaked before release, is co-sponsored by Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., and Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-N.Y., both of whom are immigrants. In an interview, Pocan, D-Wis., said the legislation would

Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement from the Supreme Court, and President Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to succeed him, is the doomsday scenario liberals feared when Senate Republicans thwarted the appointment of Merrick Garland in 2016: The GOP’s brazen act of democratic sabotage will almost certainly deliver the high court to the far right for a generation. In the years ahead, the court will probably further erode reproductive rights, gay rights and voting rights, ushering in the darkest era in American history since the post-Reconstruction period. Starbucks eliminating plastic straws from

NEW YORK — Starbucks is going strawless. The coffee company announced Monday that it will phase out plastic straws from all of its stores by 2020. The changes will help Starbucks eliminate more than 1 billion plastic straws per year, the company said. Plastic straws contribute to ocean pollution and pose a danger to marine life. Some governments have begun banning them. To eliminate straws, Starbucks is transitioning from the flat, plastic lids that require them, to ones that feature a raised lip you can drink from. The new designs have drawn comparisons to an adult “sippy cup.” (Snip) Frappuccino

Relishing the suspense, Trump insisted he still hadn´t locked down his decision, which he wants to keep under wraps until a 9 p.m. Monday announcement from the White House. "I´m very close

The party that has embodied Scandinavian social democracy for decades risks a historic beating. With nine weeks of political campaigning left, latest polls estimate the level of support for Sweden´s Social Democrats at about 25 percent. If confirmed in the Sept. 9 general election, it would be the party´s worst result on record. Like its sister parties across Europe, the group has been wrong-footed by rising opposition to immigration across the continent. Under its leadership, Sweden has seen an influx of about 400,000 immigrants since the Syrian refugee crisis of 2015 -- a massive number for a country of 10 million

They also need to look in the mirror. Democrats set the stage for their powerlessness to affect the court choice, and their reaction just deepens their political anguish. A year ago, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer spearheaded a filibuster against Neil Gorsuch, nominated by Trump to succeed the late Justice Antonin Scalia. Predictably, McConnell changed the rules on a party line
