American Medical Association Calls for More

Washington Free Beacon, by Stephen Gutowski

The American Medical Association announced on Wednesday it would back strict new gun-control measures including banning and confiscating certain firearms. The measures, which the group called "common-sense," include outlawing not only the sale of what the group referred to as "assault-type" weapons but also their possession, outlawing the possession of any firearms by adults under 21 years old, a national gun registry, requiring a license to own any firearms, and gun buyback programs among a number of other proposals. The group also called for a ban on the possession of bump-fire stocks, stated its opposition to teachers being

Might be better if the AMA did its job properly, and required psychiatrists to release their case notes on every nut job who kills people.

Then we might be able to tell if members of the AMA are contributing to gun deaths by failing to diagnose psychopaths and inappropriately prescribing drugs to them.

Just sayin´

AMA members kill approximately 5 times more people through medical errors than are killed by guns.

Further, most gun homicides are with handguns, not ´assault rifles´!

The AMA lost a good bit of its credibility a while back when they embraced treatments and drugs that only make the patient worse. Add to that the very high rate of post-operative infections, surgical complications and wrong diagnoses and the AMA´s call for anything, especially gun control and confiscation, falls on deaf ears.

Nothing worse than an "association" interfering in the constitutional rights of individual citizens. You know a lot doctors probably don´t agree, but like so many liberally controlled groups, they have keep their mouths shut or face professional consequences. Same wth universities. "The positions backed by the AMA are stricter than those backed by most gun-control organizations"

The AMA is not even smart enough to practice good Alinsky tactics, like slowly chipping away at what you want to destroy instead of taking big bites. Whether I choose to kill an attacker with my hands or with a machine gun is nobody´s business but mine. The Second Amendment backs our God-given rights to self protection and no bunch of liberal-minded dunces is going to change that - got it?

Tell them to get rid of Drugs, alcohol and cigarettes, first.

Maybe we need to find out who these people who decide what the AMA advises, and advise them contrarily, directly? Liberals do it all the time. Maybe they´d be a bit more reasonable if people were protesting their decisions outside their homes, summer homes and places of entertainment.

I´m really tired of these ´experts´ who promote whatever drug or food, whose producers pay them enough, or those who listen to Activists and politicians who have an ax to grind. Maybe some push-back will let them understand they are poking an unrestrained tiger with a very short stick.

Then immediately find a new doctor!!!!!

Of course, our family doctor would never need to ask, since we have seen him at shooting range many times. The deer heads hanging in his lobby probably are a good indication too. I have the strange feeling he wasn´t one of the "yes" votes at the AMA...

How to Fix the Border Crisis—

An ugly conundrum lies at the heart of the border crisis dominating our news coverage and social media feeds, complete with the sights and sounds of children separated from their parents: Under a 1997 settlement between the federal government and immigration activists, the government must choose between enforcing the law inhumanely and not enforcing it at all. The consent decree, known as the Flores agreement, was the product of nine years of litigation over the detention of unaccompanied minors apprehended crossing the border. It requires detained minors to be released as expeditiously as possible. In 2015, the 9th Circuit interpreted Flores´

A handful of new federal prosecutors have joined one of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s cases — an indication that he is preparing to hand off at least one prosecution to others when his office completes its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. In a pair of court filings Friday, the special counsel added four assistant U.S. attorneys to the case against Russian entities and people accused of running an online influence operation targeting American voters. People familiar with the staffing decision said the new prosecutors are not joining Mueller’s team, but rather are being added to the case

A misleading TIME magazine cover of President Trump looming over a crying migrant girl has exemplified the media’s eagerness to portray the administration’s immigration policies in the harshest possible light. But it seems the iconic magazine treated the Obama administration with comparative kid gloves over similar practices, and with covers focused instead on “Manopause” and butter. Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer John Moore captured the iconic photo of a 2-year-old Honduran girl crying as her mother was detained along the U.S.-Mexico border. For TIME and others, she quickly became the face of a “zero tolerance” policy that had resulted in children of detained

Just over a year ago, White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney was being raked over the coals for his budget blueprint. In addition to supposed cuts to the Meals on Wheels program (which weren’t really cuts), the document projected savings of $72.5 billion within Social Security’s two main programs for the disabled. Liberal journalists injected outrage into their reports and columns. Some denounced this modest frugality as President Trump’s “deceitful attack on the disabled” and called the justifications for the reforms "false claims." Others snarkily but accurately noted that the cuts “will hurt Trump counties,” which perhaps should have signaled that

As members of the House Agriculture Committee, we represent areas from California to New York, each of which rely heavily on our local farms that promote jobs and support countless workers and their families.
