Celebrity LA Times Contributor: ‘Robert De Niro
Deserved a Pulitzer’ for Tonys F-Bomb

Yahoo! Celebrity, by Jon Levine

Original Article

Los Angeles Times contributor Virginia Heffernan believes Robert De Niro deserve a Pulitzer prize for dropping an F-bomb at the Tony Awards Sunday night, adding that the outburst from the aging Hollywood heavyweight was just what the ceremony needed. “I can’t stop thinking about that swift, incisive editorial last night. Two monosyllables. Underscoring the presidency’s baseline indececency [sic] with a violation of ‘decency,´” she tweeted Monday morning. “The satire of ‘norms.’ I’d say Robert De Niro deserved a Pulitzer for if he didn’t deserve a…Tony.” (Tweet) Heffernan, who has also been a regular presence in the New York Times, Slate

The idiot doesn´t even realize that a Pulitzer Prize is for writing, not for shouting profanities at a TV camera.

OP said it all. Funny how the left´s "derangement syndromes" (e.g. BDS and TDS) have driven so many actors into a state of hysterical incoherence.

Heffernan is not a celebrity, except perhaps in her own mind.

From a feature on her from her home turf. She really holds herself in very high regard.

Heffernan, a former television critic and digital-culture columnist for the New York Times, now works as a co-host of Slate´s "Trumpcast" and contributor to such websites as Politico. But the Hanover, N.H., native — who holds a doctorate in literature from Harvard University — returned home to talk up her own traditional print-on-paper book, "Magic and Loss: The Internet as Art.”

Time to totally distance ourselves from the entertainment community at all levels for all genres. I will not be forking over any money for any of these people for any reason. My bank account will be larger, my home cleaner, my family relationships stronger. While I do believe De Niro has free speech rights that does not mean he has the right to be listened to. And they say Trump acts like an impulsive child. I was taught that those who spout such statements do so because they are not smart enough to say anything really worth listening to.

This reaction from the world of fantasy, acting and the NYT, proves nothing good. De Niro´s whole life celebrates wickedness, violence and gore. He now summarizes this accomplishment in an obscene slander of a president supported by half the country. It is past time to ignore these people into the obscurity they deserve.

My theory is that people like DeNiro, who have great wealth and stature within their communities, feel entitled, and have the money, time and resources to live however they want... but are hindered by those who expect Americans to live virtuous moral lives; a requirement if we are to live in a free nation.
So they attack the Right because the Right understands that wealth does not entitle you to live however you want. You should still embrace the morals and values our founders wrote into our founding documents.
In reality, people like DeNiro are not rebelling against republicans or Trump, they are rebelling against our Creator, God.

CBS is totally responsible for the content they furnish to their affiliates. CBS also knows award shows are loaded with language words bombs. Why they did use tape delay especially during a live broadcast, with known reprobates makes CBS culpable. JERK CBS off the air, fine them heavily. They are responsible for what they broadcast.

Just when you think these people can´t get any lower, they break out shovels and start digging.

This type of outburst has no place at any awards show. I remember when Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon were presenters at the Academy Awards one year. They took the opportunity to make some kind of speech about some stupid cause they were promoting, and by the next morning they were persona non grata. Charlton Heston wrote a guest column for one L.A. newspaper and told them: "you were invited to sing for your supper - instead, you puked on the carpet." That´s what DeNiro did, too.

I think this is a big fat lie and my evidence is the redundancy of ack!tors who like to spew bad words as though that makes them clever...or something.

If you come across this lying meme, stop sending it around. A REAL intelligent person would possess a vocabulary broad enough to NOT use foul words and still get the meaning across.

The US entertainment industry is living in a fantasy world!

Where would De Niro by if he were in North Korea and made those comments about Chairman Kim? Chances are Kim would have had De Niro draped over the muzzle of a large artillery gun and fired his gut out into the sea.

You know that the leftists would support the Canadian liberal Trudeau who is a Canadian Obama type politician, as they could care less if Trudeau’s liberal government with their high tariffs are hurting American workers.

Want to stop school violence? Stop teaching kids how to be violent via movies and TV. Make any violent movie, that is not historical (aka war movies), an X-RATED movie. No minors allowed under any circumstances. Creeps like De Niro will be out of a job, because he can´t do anything but play a violent person. Should shut down Tarantino and the other creeps in H´wood as well.

I had my say yesterday on these pages about Dumpster-Mouth Robert De Niro and his two-syllable oration which inspired the brain-denied audience to stand and get the clap. Ignore "get the" if you must. What I didn´t cite were my many years of Broadway theater-going, occasionally as a first-nighter. Also, I only missed a few Annual Tony Award Shows on live TV. They made the Oscars, Emmys et al pale in the pale area.

I think I may have seen my very first Broadway show in the 1940s. "Rosalinda" if memory serves. So many others... "Oklahoma" "Carousel" "South Pacific" "Call Me Mister" "Fnian´s Rainbow" "Pal Joey" come to mind. I even remember watching a few from front-row-center. I knew someone who knew someone.

So what´s become of live theater/theatre? Don´t ask me! I don´t want to run the risk of ever being seated next to some tasteless someone who stood last night.

WASHINGTON — Fueled by outrage over the Trump administration´s immigration policies, a small but growing number of progressive Democratic candidates are signing onto a nascent effort to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It’s a radical idea and one that was confined to the fringes just months ago in a party that has historically balanced calls for better treatment of migrants with support for stronger border security and enforcement. But as an emboldened left challenges old assumptions about everything from health care to jobs, doing away with ICE has become the latest issue left-wing insurgents can

In May, when the outrage over the separation of migrant children from their parents was beginning to boil, President Trump’s secretary for Homeland Security shrugged off accusations that it was a “form of state terror.” After all, she said, “We do it every day in every part of the country.” On this point, the secretary, Kirstjen Nielsen, is right. Family separation is a fact of life here, happening hundreds — if not thousands — of times a day. “In the United States,” she said, “we call that law enforcement.” Advocates for criminal justice reform have argued that Americans appalled at

California voters no longer would have to scramble to find stamps for their ballots under legislation sent to Gov. Jerry Brown on Thursday for postage-free voting. If signed into law, Assembly Bill 216 would require county elections officials to send prepaid postage envelopes with ballots mailed to voters. Californians frequently fail to put enough stamps on an envelope, or simply send a ballot back without any postage. Some of those ballots are ultimately delivered by postal officials. Supporters said the changing length of ballots — in some elections stretching to multiple pages — can leave voters unprepared for determining

Taxes: Whatever you think about the issue of taxing internet sales, the simple fact is that the Supreme Court has just guaranteed that people across the country will now be paying more in state taxes. It´s hard for us to see how this is good news. In its 5-4 decision on South Dakota v. Wayfair, the court overturned two previous rulings that prevented states from taxing sales of out-of-state companies. That meant a catalog company based in Maine didn´t have to navigate 45 state sales-tax laws to figure out how much each customer owed, and then remit that money to the

How´s this for sneaky? Sen. John McCain, not too long after seeking conservative and Republican votes in his failed 2008 bid for the presidency, went right after those same conservative voters without telling them, by egging on the IRS to ruin them. It´s the sort of political back-stabbing that defies belief, taking an active role in destroying the Tea Party, which was an authentic grassroots movement of local groups calling for smaller government. But sure enough, Judicial Watch has found McCain´s central role right there in the documents: Judicial Watch today released newly obtained internal IRS documents, including material revealing that Sen.

Sony Pictures Classics released a statement shredding actor Peter Fonda for his tweets, one of which called for 12-year-old Barron Trump to be raped — but the company said it would still release Boundaries, a new film co-starring Fonda.“Peter Fonda’s comments are abhorrent, reckless and dangerous, and we condemn them completely,” the film company said in an emailed statement late on Wednesday. However, the company went on to insist that pulling the upcoming Shana Feste-directed Boundaries, or trying to edit Fonda out of the film, would be “unfair” to the those involved. “It is important to note that Mr. Fonda

Melania Trump made quite the sartorial statement on Thursday when she donned a jacket with the words, ´I REALLY DON´T CARE, DO U?´ written across the back while boarding a plane to visit immigrant children being held at the border in Texas. The 48-year-old first lady was pictured arriving at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland wearing the $39 khaki design from Zara, before boarding her plane to fly to Texas. She removed the offending jacket, which bore the controversial phrase in white graffiti-style writing across the entire back section, before disembarking the plane upon her arrival. (Photos) By the
