Mata Hari journalism?
Veteran Senate Intelligence Committee staffer,
in romantic relationship with NYT reporter,

James A. Wolfe, former Director of Security for the Senate Intelligence Committee, lost everything when he was arrested by the FBI last night. A review of media reports on the background of the arrest suggests that the lure of romance with a nubile female journalism school student may have been his undoing. This is a story with at least two compelling themes: the apparent betrayal of national security by a veteran Senate staffer, and the rise in a mere 4 years of a comely female reporter in a romantic relationship with Wolfe from unpaid undergraduate intern at McClatchy to the

Read her 4/17/17 article about Carter Page at the link. She apparently wrote story with the slant of trying to link Trump with Russia, not as an explanation that Carter Page was working with the FBI in 2013 to trap Russian spies. She’s not a journalist but a leftist using sex as the way to advance her career and worse, her political views.

Also, describing her as “comely”, or pleasant to look at, is a stretch.

It seems that peeling back all the attacks on America by leftist using ´their´ media it sure seems like journalism is dead.
Notice how the left and media scream about rights and freedom of the press but sure don´t mind surveillance of Trump and his staff.
This is but one part of the corruption and hatred for President Trump with these acts of treason. I say hang them all when you catch them. Draining the swamp means just that, drain the darn swamp.

The defense being implied throughout the article is that it´s okay for the government to investigate (dare I say, spy) on its citizens - just not reporters or journalists.

I can´t wait for little Ali to join the #MeToo Movement. Sure she slept with him so she could go from intern to New York Times reporter in four years, but young women should not have to use their bodies to get ahead in their chosen profession. He was a chauvinist pig. He should have leaked the info to her, "just because." These vestiges of the patriarchy must be smashed along with all men who harbor the same unbridled lust for women.

A person in DC could not be a deeper “deep state” functionary then this old Wolfe, situated in charge of all the classified information maintained by the US Senate Intelligence Committee. You would think that with such a high level security clearance that he would have been the subject of periodic comprehensive background investigations.

I am sure Deep State operatives like Burr, Warner, and DiFi made sure no inconvenient questions were ever asked. When the top dogs are corrupt, we have very little protection from them.

By the way, however, I would think that committing these offenses while holding a senior government security role would count as a rather nasty "aggravating circumstance", would it not?

What´s it like to feel powerless? A lieutenant in the Chicago Fire Department may find out. The fireman committed the grave sin of defending himself and his property from an aggressor. Now he is the target of a social media campaign to ex post facto punish him for having the audacity to protect what is rightfully his. Last summer, the unidentified firefighter left his Jeep idling on the West Side of the city (admittedly, not a bright thing to do anywhere in Chicago) when it was carjacked by 17-year-old Charles Macklin.
