U.S. Chamber of Commerce demands
amnesty for 1 million migrants

Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan

The country’s largest business lobby pleaded with Congress this week to grant legal status to a million illegal immigrants, saying the job market is so hot that the country couldn’t stomach losing them if they are asked to leave. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce also rejected proposals to cut future immigration levels, saying they “would be devastating to our economy.” Neil L. Bradley, a longtime GOP staffer on Capitol Hill who is now executive vice president at the chamber, sent a letter to lawmakers who have kick-started a new debate in the House on broad immigration reforms. GOP leaders are

We are in desperate need of immigrants to further depress wages of native-born Americans, Big Biz leaders say, as the Republicans in their pocket nod in solemn agreement.

Yes, we have a shortage of workers, however, as AI starts to take over jobs, we´ll depend less and less on immigrants. This is something we should keep in the back of our mind. Also as wages go up, an incentive will be set to manufacturing robots. Wish we had a plan.

The low end of the US labor market is grossly distorted by welfare, housing, and medical benefits freely available to those who do not want to work, or who work minimally in order to qualify for continued welfare benefits and Earned Income Tax Credit. Much could be done to make people support themselves, versus demographically transforming the nation simply to accommodate those in the hammock.

Most of the jobs the foreign invaders do used to be done by young people.
A problem we are facing is young people not having a work ethic, or the skills to be employed.
Those invaders took that from them, and we need to take it back.

Why don´t we just open the border, send the agents home, and welcome the whole world into our house? Lower the standard for everyone.

How long before the US becomes a s---hole country like central America, Africa and the middle east?

"Demands" ? Who are they to demand taxpayers keep paying for welfare for one million ´migrants´?

If we got rid of millions of immigrants and refugees, illegal and legal, we would need less of everything. Getting working age people off welfare and into those jobs would fill the void.

You can bet that the illegal aliens that the Chamber of Commerce wants to grant amnesty to are mostly all employed to low paying jobs that are usually held by illegal aliens who present fraudulent work authorization documents to employers when they were hired.

Once those illegal aliens are granted amnesty, they automatically are granted the right to work in the USA. So after being granted amnesty those illegal aliens no longer have to stay in their low paying jobs, and can move on to seek higher paying jobs across the US economy anyplace they can get hired.

So what happens to all the low paying jobs that were vacated by the legalized aliens? They will be filled with new illegal aliens who have no choice but to take those low paying jobs.

What I pointed out above is the repetitive cycle that has been going on in industries using illegal alien labor in the USA for decades. Every time there is an amnesty, the legalized aliens in accordance with human nature, with authorization to work in the USA, will always move on to higher paying jobs, with their old jobs then being filled by new illegal aliens. That’s why there is always a big surge with new illegal aliens coming into the USA in the years following all big amnesties for illegal aliens.

Amnesties always encourage new mass uncontrolled illegal immigration. In 1986 about 3.1 million illegal aliens were granted amnesty by Congress. Now there are realistically about 20 million illegal aliens in the USA. What does that tell you?

When I was in high school (in the dark ages), some boys went to college, but others went into the building trades and did very well in establishing a middle class life.

I´d like to look outside and see Americans building houses, laying concrete and brick, building fences and doing the electricity and plumbing. These are respectable jobs that many young American would like to have. Yes, their wages would be higher than that of the illegals, but it is a cost we can bear.
