Democrats´ IT scandal set to
explode with possible plea deal

Fox News, by Frank Miniter

The curious case of Imran Awan, which sounds like an international spy thriller, is entering its third act. Awan was a congressional IT aide to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., and he was finally fired just after he was arrested trying to fly to Pakistan last summer. Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, were charged last summer with bank fraud. They now appear poised to strike a plea deal with the Department of Justice. (Snip) Sources tell me that the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force has been looking into this matter since well before Awan and his crew of Pakistani

Comments:
This is an excellent article. I´m surprised that Luke Rosiak at the Daily Caller, who has done extensive investigative work on this, hasn´t reported this. It´s interesting that the author of this article has written a book regarding this (coming out later this year) and the source information is encouraging for a change. I thought the plea deal was devastating for those who are extremely concerned about this. I never considered that it was just to hold those filthy criminals.

Contd. FTA: "Sources tell me that the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force has been looking into this matter since well before Awan and his crew of Pakistani congressional IT aides were booted off the House computer network in February 2017."

FTA: "Sources also say that investigators were particularly interested in whether anyone else in the congressional offices that all of these IT aides worked for was involved in alleged improper activity. This might include Rep. Wasserman Schultz.....It might also include former Rep. Xavier Becerra, D-Calif., who employed Awan when Becerra was chairman of the House Democratic Caucus. Becerra is now California attorney general."

I cannot think of anything more satisfying than seeing that filthy hack Wasserman Schultz and the equally bad hack Becerra, be taken down. This is obviously new information because I have seen nothing reported that the FBI terrorism task force was even involved. We know there are still really honorable FBI agents in the force. I hope this all comes to pass. I hope he´s right considering that this judge is an Obama appointee.

Imran Awan is Luke Rosiak´s story. Without Rosiak, this would have sunk into the sunset and gone unreported, like so many other Dem scandals.

I have no faith in anything in that building where Congress resides. Determining that illegal acts have happened, but doing nothing about it?!

"40 or more members of Congress had all of their data moved out their office servers and onto the Becerra server without their knowledge or consent.”
"Imran Awan was also going back to Pakistan for long stays and, in fact, at times worked remotely from Pakistan."
"House Office of Inspector General investigation determined that Awan and his crew (none of whom underwent background checks to gain the IT positions they held in Congress) committed numerous violations of House security policies"

FTA:
"Becerra left Congress in January 2017. Before he left, Capitol Police wanted a copy of the caucus server’s contents.

Becerra presumably told Imran Awan that Capitol Police wanted a copy of the server. What is known is that Awan did produce a copy of a server’s data for Capitol Police; however, after taking a look at the data they were provided, Capitol Police determined they were given a copy of data from some other server instead."

So, did California AG Becerra tip-off Imran and obstruct justice, and hinder an investigation?
Sure would seem like it.

This whole episodes stinks like week old diapers.

Just imagine the "news" screeching that would have occurred if the party involved had been head of the RNC. It would have been 24/7 coverage, and numerous characters would have no doubt been indicted by now.

I wonder if W-S had a crush on Awan, or had an actual relationship with him? As a Dem she is not especially likely to be worried about blackmail. After all the media protects Democrats and never holds them accountable for anything if doing so can possibly be avoided, especially a Democrat like W-S who was Chairwoman of the DNC for 4 years. Whatever her motivation, her attempts to protect Awan are at once bizarre and demonstrate her total disregard for America´s security.

The plea deal is with Anwan not DWS. I hope he squeals like a pig.

It does not amaze me at all that there were 40 dem congressmen stupid enough to have these Pakistani hacks take charge of their computers. Most dems are not the brightest bulbs in the room. Their talent is lying and throwing the term racist around.

This story had gone missing for quite a while with all the Russia, Russia, Russia going on. I am glad to see it back.

I too, focused on the word set. I rarely, if at all, her any mention of statutes of limitation on any of the possible actions being mentioned. It seems that the investigations drag on for years and then nothing comes of it. Whether it is intentional is likely never to be told. Some trigger off the time of the event and others from the time of discovery.
It has led me to watch the unfolding of the Obama Administration criminal investigation with this issue in mind.

If Debbie Blabbermouth goes to jail - - what happens to those innocent ringlets?

Perhaps Trump will step in and pardon them - - so they don´t have to waste away in a jail cell. Free The Ringlets!

I cannot express how much I would love to see Becerra indicted. Beyond all the suing of the Trump administration, he has been a particularly vicious partisan AG here in CA since his appointment, even prosecuting a local 80-year old Republican woman (with cancer) who made a minor electioneering violation (calling people to come and vote when she wasn´t quite 100 feet away from the polling place.) Because of her earlier support for our local DA, her case went to Becerra, and he decided to make ´an example of her´. It was horrible. He just got 45% of the primary vote. How great would it be if scandal brought him down in November!

Slightly different perspective: even if these IT people were on the straight and narrow they are like bringing a sandwich to a supermarket.

Anyone who has been on even the far edges of the federal government knows the staggering number of in-house and contractor personnel they employ, especially in the IT field (this is one reason HB1 visas are so hard to reduce or eliminate).

Whatever services Awan was providing were almost certainly surplus to requirements as far as a garden variety member of Congress, even a party leader, would need. In addition, the security requirements for IT are stringent but they seem to have been completely ignored, bypassed or even defeated by DWS et al. And what about the Dems who knowingly or unknowingly used Awan´s ´services?´

It would be like grabbing a random person at a bus station and putting him in charge of Fort Knox.

People like DWS and Becerra should not be anywhere near Congress. This is about as incompetent and careless as it gets. The regulations that the government, through Sarbanes Oxley, impose on private industry are so stultifying and ridiculous that most companies now spend twice as much on IT infrastructure than what is required to run the business to make sure that all of the rules are followed. Here we have Congress giving away information to Pakistan and not thinking anything is wrong. We need to dismantle the whole mess that is Washington and start over. This situation is serious and heads need to roll. You can bet that even though Awan and his wife have been arrested that nothing has changed.

I still don´t believe anything is going to happen. An entire emerging political party was wiped out by very illegal actions of the Obama IRS. Nothing much happened. Nearly all of them still have their jobs and pensions. And many of them continue to do the same things that should have been prosecuted. The complete failure of the Republicans to hold the IRS accountable in any serious way emboldened the rogue bureaucrats to pull off the anti Trump scheme. I think they still believe they are going to get away with all of it.

Strzok was asked “what action” he would take if he found out one of his subordinates was conducting an “extramarital affair.” “It depends,” said Strzok. “If it was against the FBI’s regulation in terms of if it was somebody in their chain of command, above or below them, which is inappropriate or not allowed by regulation, I would

Meghan Markle‘s smile is hiding fear, stress and the pressure of adjusting to her new royal duties, her father said in an interview published Sunday. “I think she is terrified,” Thomas Markle told The Sun. “I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile.” “I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now,” he added. “This is a pained smile.”The newly-minted Duchess of Sussex, 36, is struggling to cope with the transition from TV actress to a member of the royal

The indictment Friday of 12 Russian military officers for the election hacks against the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign lends a surprising new detail to the 2016 election interference timeline: The Kremlin’s hackers apparently still maintained a foothold in the DNC’s network four months after the Democrats announced that they’d locked the intruders out. Until today, the story of the DNC hack ended promptly on June 14, 2016, when the Democrats went public with the intrusion in the pages of the Washington Post, and Crowdstrike, the security firm hired to respond to the breach, published a detailed technical account. Today’s indictment confirms

The man who co-wrote “The Art of the Deal” said Sunday he believes President Trump’s faculties are diminishing — and that he feels obligated to sound the alarm. “We are in a true emergency,” Tony Schwartz said on CNN Sunday. “And the accelerated rate at which his breakdown or decompensation is occurring is cause for us, and certainly for me, to come on to TV more often, to tweet more often.” Schwartz told CNN’s Brian Stelter that he felt comfortable making that assessment because he had “spent an enormous time with [Trump] over a period of 18 months.”(snip)Stelter pointed out that Schwartz

Anyone who has ever been to a recycling plant is invariably surprised at how dirty and nasty America’s favorite green activity really is. Trucks dump the material on a long conveyor belt, where a few dozen people pick through by hand what is supposed to be recyclable material, but more and more often is just plain old dirty trash. The recyclables used to be worth something more than bragging rights about liberal moral superiority. Plastic bottles, newspapers, and cardboard, were just a few of the favorites you could ship to China by the ton and make a few bucks along the

Americans are encouraged to embrace diversity and be culturally sensitive to those who have flouted our laws and invaded our nation. Meanwhile, illegal aliens arriving in America have no such requirement. Instead, trespassing tribes relocate, and when they do, rather than assimilate, they transfer habits and activities indigenous to the countries from whence they migrated. Thus, Americans suffer from illnesses that are easily traceable to third-world bathroom habits (TWBH) and lack of hygiene in the developing world. It´s not news that illegals work in restaurants as food-handlers. These restaurant workers migrate from

Watching FBI agent Peter Strzok battle with Congress, my initial reaction was pure anger. His repeated, arrogant insistence that he had done nothing wrong despite tons of evidence to the contrary convinced me he deserved immediate firing — if not the firing squad. Gradually, though, anger gave way to amazement as Strzok grew increasingly combative and condescending. Given his predicament, the sneering and smirking were stupid, and yet he persisted. Who is this jerk, I wondered, and how in the hell did he get to be a big shot at the FBI? And why are taxpayers still paying for the privilege of

The left-wing terrorist organization that calls itself Antifa is “freaking out” over a proposed law that would enhance penalties for anyone who “injures, oppresses, threatens, or intimidates any person” while wearing a disguise or mask. Throughout our country, and for a number of years now — and primarily because the establishment media fantasizes about, promotes, enflames and approves of the violence committed against the right (naturally, HuffPo opposes the unmasking law) — Antifa has been allowed to run rampant, committing countless acts of violence against everyday, peaceful supporters of President Donald Trump.

The White House Correspondents’ Association released a statement defending CNN from President Donald Trump’s refusal to take a question from the network on Friday. “In response to the President lashing out at NBC, CNN and The Sun: Asking smart, tough questions, whether in a presidential press conference or interview, is central to the role a free press plays in a healthy republic,” said WHCA president Margaret Talev. “Given that the president took a question from a CNN reporter in his NATO news conference just a day earlier, maybe he was letting off steam today rather than expressing an official stance

A 13-year-old girl in Alabama was beheaded because she saw her Sinaloa Cartel-associated granny stabbed to death by drug traffickers, authorities have said. Mariah Lopez, 13, and her grandmother Oralia Mendoza, 49, were killed on June 4 in Moon Cemetery outside of Huntsville, Alabama, prosecutors revealed in court on Thursday. The new details in the case came in a hearing for 26-year-old Yoni Aguilar, who along with 34-year-old Israel Palomino is charged with two counts each of capital murder in the slayings. At the hearing, investigators testified that the grandmother Mendoza had ties to the Sinaloa Cartel,
