Pope´s reported comment to a gay man may
indicate a new level of acceptance of homosexuality

Los Angeles Times, by Tom Kington

Pope Francis has reportedly told a gay man that "God made you that way and loves you as you are," apparently pushing the pontiff´s acceptance of homosexuality to a new level. Francis made the comments to Juan Carlos Cruz, a Chilean victim of priestly sexual abuse who recently spent days with the pope at the Vatican to discuss his ordeal as the pontiff moves to tackle decades of coverups and ostracism of victims in the Chilean church, according to the Spanish newspaper El Pais. Cruz was quoted as having discussed his homosexuality with Francis. "He told me: ´Juan Carlos, I

Comments:
I wouldn´t be so quick to claim a "new level of acceptance" in the Church. The Pope would be wise to explain why the Bible, in the New Testament as well as the Old Testament, explicitly and expressly forbids homosexual behavior.

The Bible is not vague on this matter: Homosexual behavior is against God´s law. We are all born in sin with temptations. Gay people must learn to control their proclivities toward sexual sin just like the rest of us must.

If the Victim is a homosexual, where was the ordeal he endured from priestly abuse? I thought gays liked gay sex. NAMBLA has been pushing for man-boy sex for decades.

Something is badly "off" about this article. Not to mention that the Pope needs to be replaced pronto.

What was said in the meeting is ´internal forum´ by Church protocols -- the Pope is supposed to keep private what is said in these private meetings. So Cruz is free to distort whatever was said, and the Swamp media are free to distort that even further.

Trump Derangement Syndrome in the media pales by comparison to their dedicated assault on traditional Catholic teachings. I need to reel back my initial reaction and wait for a statement aimed at clearing the water that the deviant-sexuality-champions on the Left have quite effectively muddied with this.

We are supposed to hate the sin but not the sinner; so indicating "a new level of acceptance" is short-sighted. Gay or straight, adult or child, male or female -- fornication outside of marriage is not OK in God´s sight.

Mr. Kington´s headline also says "reported comment" - I take that to mean he hasn´t verified it, or received a clarifying statement from the Vatican; not the first time the Pope has been misquoted (and no, I am not a fan of his, just cautiously respectful).

The Bible does not provide a “detailed psychological answer for homosexuality. ... Romans clearly condemns homosexuality as a corruption of God’s created order. ... Paul argues that homosexual behavior results from idolatry and a corrupt understanding of creation(1:26-28).” Homosexuality is a rebellion against God’s created order. Homosexuality as well as “envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness ... gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless”(1:28-31) all undermine society. Homosexuals like all sinners, “need to hear God’s word of Law and Gospel applied to his or her life with the goal of repentance and faith.”

Of course God loves gay people. And Catholics have never believed one can become “un-gay.” The Catholic Church does not turn people away, it is, and ALWAYS has been, a very welcoming place full of love and forgiveness. There are rules and expectations of course, but there is also understanding. The media wants this to be breaking news, and maybe it is to those who know very little about Catholicism, but this is not exactly a new view.

I´m Catholic and during confession I asked if it was a sin to disagree the Pope. The priest knew just what I was talking about and he said no that the Pope is not supposed to insert his personal opinions into the church´s doctrine. That he is not infallible when it comes to his personal views, that being said, I think this pope has/is driving people away from the church. It´s confusing and sad to most of the practicing Catholics out here.

Many of our current homosexual adults were ´turned´ by predatory adults not created as gay by God. And sadly not a few are the result of perverted clergy. I do not trust the media to report the truth but Francis more than any of his predecessors seems unable to avoid being ´misquoted´.

God created the child, Juan Carlos Cruz. The priest, diabolical to the bone, confused the child´s understanding of sexuality. The child could never regain what that priest took from him. We have no idea whether God intended the child to be homosexual or not.

The medieval Church was rife with priests who misused their positions to influence women who bore them "nephews" who would later be given positions in the church.

And there grew up a culture that overlooked and even protected these degradations, both homosexual and heterosexual.

And it goes on today.

* But Catholic priests are not alone in this. * Wherever some men have power, they seem to use it to twist and force the young and the powerless in sexual ways. It is difficult to understand.

With just a couple of weeks left in the second quarter, it is clear that the U.S. economy has picked up the pace while economies across Europe and Asia have slowed in the second quarter. Illegal Immigration: The latest outrage by the Trump administration is its policy of "ripping" children away from parents who´ve crossed the border illegally. As with so many other things involving Trump, there´s plenty of emotion but precious little in the way of facts. The furor reached critical mass after the Department of Homeland Security said on Friday that 1,995 children had been separated from their illegal border crossing parents from mid-April through May. That number included, DHS said, cases where the adults were arrested for illegal entry, immigration violations, or possible criminal conduct. The practice has generated a rising storm of protests,

Roseanne Barr has become untouchable due to the "Valerie Jarrett/Ambien/Planet of the Apes" controversy, irrevocably contaminated by racism. This presents a problem for ABC, which canceled her revived show but wants the show to return in some form because it had high ratings. The apparent solution is to create a new show focused on the daughter character "Darlene," which would exclude Roseanne. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr owns a chunk of the show, and ABC doesn´t want to be seen letting Barr profit from it, so ABC is in talks to buy the show from Barr so she would not technically profit

The Justice Department’s tepid OIG report, with its risible assertion that there was no political bias in the FBI’s Clinton email probe, suggests that it was written by people afraid to tell the unvarnished truth about the conduct of the federal government’s police apparatus, an agency that openly defies congressional oversight and has participated in a vendetta against a sitting president. The FBI’s leadership clearly hopes that the Democrats will win majorities in Congress and put a halt to the investigations into its multifarious abuses of power. The OIG is loath to face the ruthless reprisals that would inevitably follow

FBI Director Wray has said nothing to reassure Americans that he understands the serious corruption highlighted in the IG report. The FBI´s cover-ups and stonewalling on Wray´s watch add to his credibility problems. Both in is his press conference after the IG report was released, and in his testimony Monday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Director Wray demonstrated he was more concerned about protecting the reputation of the institution of the FBI than about the astonishing corruption of top FBI officials detailed in the IG report. During today’s hearing we heard about FBI agents who aren’t corrupt and how the Clinton email

Monday at a border patrol facility in McAllen, TX on “CBS This Morning,” co-host Gayle King said the Statue of Liberty is “weeping right now” over the separating of immigrant children from their families. King said “We arrived yesterday afternoon. We went straight to the facility, the location where kids and their parents were reunited. All I can say after talking to the people, watching the people, listening to the people, that the Statue of Liberty I think is weeping right now. It’s unbelievable the stories we’ve heard.” She added, “We’re standing in front of a converted warehouse. This is

Fired FBI Director James Comey refused to appear before Congress on Monday to talk about his handling of the Clinton email investigation, and his fired deputy, Andrew McCabe, asserted his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination. Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch also declined to show up for a major hearing where the Senate Judiciary Committee was looking into the inspector general’s report detailing major bungles in Mr. Comey’s handling of the Clinton investigation. Mr. Comey’s lawyer said he was out of the country — though Sen. Charles E. Grassley, committee chairman, said he saw Mr. Comey
