Ex-New Orleans Mayor Mitch
Landrieu gets JFK award for
removing Confederate monuments

Associated Press, by Staff

Original Article

Boston — The former mayor of New Orleans is being honored for his leadership in removing Confederate memorials in his city. Mitch Landrieu will be presented with the 2018 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for standing behind his decision to take down four monuments. The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation is paying tribute to Landrieu for taking the action despite legal challenges and outright threats from those who insist the Confederacy is an important part of New Orleans’ heritage. President Kennedy’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, is scheduled to make Sunday night’s presentation.

Comments:
Craven political opportunist scored points with the virulently racist Obama administration, which no doubt funded the ISIS-style destruction of New Orleans history in order to foment anti-white strife. Meanwhile, black people in New Orleans continue to commit crimes at a shocking pace, taxes and costs spiral out of control, there´s no money to fix infrastructure, and the city likely will never again have a white mayor. And for these achievements, he gets an award from Marxists.

Would JFK himself wanted these monuments removed?

As for Caroline’s son Jack, he is everywhere these days, with big hair and Mom, playing a young cop on “Blue Bloods”, giving awards, etc., etc., etc. Priming for the continuation of the dynasty? Caroline is quite the promoter…

Kennedy loses some of its dynastic oomph when it becomes Schlossberg. (BTW, where do they keep Dad Schlossberg?)

It is easy to cave to liberals and get "courage" awards. Real courage would have told the agitators to "grow up and get over yourselves."

It is really gutsy for a mayor to remove Confederate monuments in a majority-black city. I can see why he won some feel-good liberal award. Kind of like Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize because he talked about peace a lot before he was elected. Liberals are all about feelings but are pretty short on actions.

JFK talked a good civil rights game, but appointed white old south racist judges to the federal bench.
And talking about a profile in courage (a book ghost written by Ted Sorenson) JFK, a friend of Joseph McCarthy, went into the hospital for elective back surgery in order to avoid the Senate censure vote on McCarthy.

They conceived ´Total War´-- deliberately targeting civilians to ´end the war.´ They burned houses and barns, wrecked industries and infrastructure, confiscated food and deported entire communities.

When do the memorials to war criminals come down?

Urine trouble now. FDNY fire marshals arrested a squatter who sparked a massive blaze in Staten Island, urinated on the flames in an attempt to put out the fire, then ran off without telling anyone when that plan failed, sources and officials said Tuesday. Hector Meza, 40, was staying inside a building on Stuyvesant Place near Wall St. in St. George when he accidentally knocked over a candle about 5:15 p.m. on June 6, according to authorities. The flames spread and grew to a three-alarm inferno that ripped through several buildings on the commercial block. Meza bolted and never alerted

Illegal Immigration: The latest outrage by the Trump administration is its policy of "ripping" children away from parents who´ve crossed the border illegally. As with so many other things involving Trump, there´s plenty of emotion but precious little in the way of facts. The furor reached critical mass after the Department of Homeland Security said on Friday that 1,995 children had been separated from their illegal border crossing parents from mid-April through May. That number included, DHS said, cases where the adults were arrested for illegal entry, immigration violations, or possible criminal conduct. The practice has generated a rising storm of protests,
