John McCain´s Last Fight
Politico, by Michael Hirsch

Original Article

John McCain always said he’d go down fighting, and so he has, dickering from his deathbed over CIA nominee Gina Haspel and pre-emptively disinviting President Donald Trump from his funeral, then leaving as a legacy some fierce final words for the leader of his party, who is now a political enemy. All Trump displays is “a reality-show facsimile of toughness,” the six-term Arizona senator and former GOP presidential candidate, who for a generation of Washington politicians has defined genuine toughness, writes in his forthcoming memoir. The irony of McCain’s curtain-closing contretemps with the president is that it is clearly

Sounds like John McCain is a bitter and jealous old man. Too bad, as he made his own political bed in DC where he soon will be forgotten even by his friends across the aisle.

To leftists at the Politico "genuine toughness" is when McCain sided with Democrats against his own party. Genuine toughness was shown by the police officers who ran toward the gun fire at the Santa Fe school shooting today. That´s toughness!!!It´s not throwing a hissy fit on the Senate floor and dressing down and dissing your own party! McCain will lose his last fight like he did so many others.

Sometimes public figures get a pass on past behaviors because it can´t be proven or it´s just a gossip or a hit piece. When it comes to McCain and how he has acted throughout his career and public life and how he treated his first wife, it has been documented and I don´t find anything honorable about him at all. I read the Rolling Stone expose about him with a grain of salt because of the source, but I did find a "grain" of truth there also. McCain should have kept his mouth shut about Palin; she was the only reason he got probably 2/3´s of the votes he did. He fired a spokesperson who used Obama´s real middle name "Hussein". He´s as flawed and corrupt as Ted Kennedy and John Kerry. I honor him for his service, but I can´t honor him for his dis-service to this country.

In case anyone forgot that he was a part of the huge immigration mess that was created when Teddy the Swimmer pushed through "comprehensive" immigration reform, the picture with Kennedy ways it all.

A man who could publicly trash an earnest and loyal running mate but praise a caddish, dishonest, spoiled, cowardly, immature and traitorous political rival is not praiseworthy. McCain liked to be likened to Pete Mitchell but Pete Mitchell never squandered an Annapolis education, crashed airplanes due to ineptitude or betrayed friends and supporters. In fact, Pete Mitchell wasn’t even a real person so please, MSM, drop calling an old man of political opportunism and a habit of duplicity a maverick after the post-adolescent hero of a kids’ movie. McCain was just another brat born to privilege who despised good people who thought well of him despite the evidence.

I wonder (NOT!) if the writer would be so fawning of a Democrat who ´crossed the aisle´ and sided with Conservatives to screw up ´Rat plans as much as McCain screwed up Republican plans?

Illegal Immigration: The latest outrage by the Trump administration is its policy of "ripping" children away from parents who´ve crossed the border illegally. As with so many other things involving Trump, there´s plenty of emotion but precious little in the way of facts. The furor reached critical mass after the Department of Homeland Security said on Friday that 1,995 children had been separated from their illegal border crossing parents from mid-April through May. That number included, DHS said, cases where the adults were arrested for illegal entry, immigration violations, or possible criminal conduct. The practice has generated a rising storm of protests,

Roseanne Barr has become untouchable due to the "Valerie Jarrett/Ambien/Planet of the Apes" controversy, irrevocably contaminated by racism. This presents a problem for ABC, which canceled her revived show but wants the show to return in some form because it had high ratings. The apparent solution is to create a new show focused on the daughter character "Darlene," which would exclude Roseanne. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr owns a chunk of the show, and ABC doesn´t want to be seen letting Barr profit from it, so ABC is in talks to buy the show from Barr so she would not technically profit

The Justice Department’s tepid OIG report, with its risible assertion that there was no political bias in the FBI’s Clinton email probe, suggests that it was written by people afraid to tell the unvarnished truth about the conduct of the federal government’s police apparatus, an agency that openly defies congressional oversight and has participated in a vendetta against a sitting president. The FBI’s leadership clearly hopes that the Democrats will win majorities in Congress and put a halt to the investigations into its multifarious abuses of power. The OIG is loath to face the ruthless reprisals that would inevitably follow

Monday at a border patrol facility in McAllen, TX on “CBS This Morning,” co-host Gayle King said the Statue of Liberty is “weeping right now” over the separating of immigrant children from their families. King said “We arrived yesterday afternoon. We went straight to the facility, the location where kids and their parents were reunited. All I can say after talking to the people, watching the people, listening to the people, that the Statue of Liberty I think is weeping right now. It’s unbelievable the stories we’ve heard.” She added, “We’re standing in front of a converted warehouse. This is

Fired FBI Director James Comey refused to appear before Congress on Monday to talk about his handling of the Clinton email investigation, and his fired deputy, Andrew McCabe, asserted his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination. Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch also declined to show up for a major hearing where the Senate Judiciary Committee was looking into the inspector general’s report detailing major bungles in Mr. Comey’s handling of the Clinton investigation. Mr. Comey’s lawyer said he was out of the country — though Sen. Charles E. Grassley, committee chairman, said he saw Mr. Comey

FBI Director Wray has said nothing to reassure Americans that he understands the serious corruption highlighted in the IG report. The FBI´s cover-ups and stonewalling on Wray´s watch add to his credibility problems. Both in is his press conference after the IG report was released, and in his testimony Monday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Director Wray demonstrated he was more concerned about protecting the reputation of the institution of the FBI than about the astonishing corruption of top FBI officials detailed in the IG report. During today’s hearing we heard about FBI agents who aren’t corrupt and how the Clinton email
