Windsor, England - Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle at the royal wedding — stepping in after the father of the bride fell ill just days before the ceremony. Kensington Palace said Friday that Markle´s future father-in-law, the heir to the British throne, would walk the American actress down the aisle at St. George´s Chapel in Windsor for her wedding to Prince Harry. The palace says he "is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to the Royal Family in this way." (Tweet) The decision comes after feverish speculation about who would have the honor after the bride announced that her father,

Prince Charles. Always the stand-in monarch. Relax. Time to breathe now. Oh, London police just arrested a young man for plotting a terrorist action. They were quick to say that it was NOT related to this wedding. Whew.

Bravo´ Prince Charles. As a Defender of the Realm and Commander of Knights and beyond, it seems perfectly appropriate to assist a young lady in distress.

Didn’t we just read a couple of weeks ago that the father of the bride had not been invited to the wedding? And then he was invited but refused to attend? How convenient that he “fell ill”.

The royal soap opera continues. I will not be watching.

With her politics being so liberal you would have to wonder why she did not have her friend Barack Obama fly in to walk down the aisle with her?

No doubt the stress brought on by the thought of having to walk down the aisle with his daughter, with the entire world watching, caused her father, who appears to be a very private individual who lives by himself across the borderline in Rosarita, Mexico, to suffer a cardiac event that needed medical intervention resulting in the reported placement of three stents in his arteries. Clearly if the man wants to survive for very long he is going to have to loose a lot of weight and change his diet away from his reported KFC and Mickey D regimen.

It appears that the top rank of the British Royal Family has made the decision that to protect the “Crown” and ensure the future longevity of the British Monarchy that they must put forth a social philosophy that portrays them, without directly venturing into politics, as being as socially liberal as possible. That is especially important throughout the multicultural and multiracial Commonwealth. Of course by protecting the “Crown” the Royal Family is also protecting their very privileged social status and wealth.

Anyone who has been paying attention knows that protecting the “Crown” is always the ultimate motive for all official actions and viewpoints that are publicized by the Royal Family. That being said, it is obvious the private lives of certain members of the Royal Family have not engendered respect.

Chances are, after the smoke clears, that Harry and Meghan will end up being the ambassadors of the Royal Family to the Commonwealth as big time “do-gooders” in the Diana mode, and may even set up their residential base in Canada.

Well, I’m getting up at 4 am on the West Coast to watch...maybe even earlier to watch the ‘pregame’ festivities (no DVR here, I stream). I enjoy royal weddings (well, any wedding really). I’m a girly girl - so sue me. It started for me in high school with Charles & Di and I haven’t missed one yet. No one does it better than the Brits and this Anglophile is in 100% regardless. As for Meghan, I read this is her 4th ‘marriage’. Apparently, she has one divorce, one annulment and one failed common law marriage? Channeling Liz Taylor, I suppose. I think it’s nice Prince Charles stepped up—I think he really wants Harry to be happy and is trying to make up for all of the Diana/Camilla drama. I know fairy tales are for fools but I’ll enjoy the show anyway. Fun.

Critics of President Trump routinely accuse him of "gaslighting" — that is, of deliberately repeating misinformation to the extent that the public starts doubting verifiable facts and believing in Trump's self-serving talking points. On Sunday, a flurry of more than a dozen presidential tweets offered clear reminders of his tactics. In one glaring example, Trump reiterated a lie that his political opponents are responsible for the forcible separation of the children of undocumented migrants arriving at the American border — it was his own administration that chose to pursue these measures, which have sparked a growing backlash.

Illegal Immigration: The latest outrage by the Trump administration is its policy of "ripping" children away from parents who´ve crossed the border illegally. As with so many other things involving Trump, there´s plenty of emotion but precious little in the way of facts. The furor reached critical mass after the Department of Homeland Security said on Friday that 1,995 children had been separated from their illegal border crossing parents from mid-April through May. That number included, DHS said, cases where the adults were arrested for illegal entry, immigration violations, or possible criminal conduct. The practice has generated a rising storm of protests,
