CNN´s chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta challenged President Trump to grant him an one-on-one interview. "I dare him to sit down with me," Acosta said during an interview Wednesday on ABC´s "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" when pressed by the host.Despite his confrontational manner in the briefing room, Acosta told Kimmel he has professional relationships with former White House press secretary Sean Spicer and his successor Sarah Sanders. In this dare, Acosta reveals his outsized opinion of himself. He believes that Trump is afraid to be interviewed by Acosta. Not so. Trump views him and the rest of the fake news media as annoying mosquitoes best addressed with the disinfectant of sunlight.

He deserves nothing but your scorn. He is a dishonest, arrogant, news reader who has shown zero respect for the office you hold.

Democrats are now employing a familiar rallying cry that helped define President Trump´s presidential campaign, a combative messaging shift ahead of what analysts say will be a bruising midterm election season. Expect to hear Democrats urging voters to "drain the swamp" this time around, observers say, because their internal polling has shown that the electorate is increasingly concerned about weeding out corruption in Washington a year and a half after Trump´s win. "President Trump has embraced the most egregious establishment Republican norms and appointed the most conflict-of-interest-ridden Cabinet in my lifetime,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, told reporters Monday.

Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton told graduating students at Yale University on Sunday she was still grappling with the results of the 2016 election. "No, I’m not over it, I still think about the 2016 election, I still regret the mistakes I made,” Clinton said during an address as part of Yale University’s Class Day. “Today, as a person, I’m Okay. As an American, I’m concerned." “This is a moment to reach across divides of race, class, and politics to try to see the world through the eyes of people very different from ourselves and to return to rational

Pope Francis has reportedly told a gay man that "God made you that way and loves you as you are," apparently pushing the pontiff´s acceptance of homosexuality to a new level. Francis made the comments to Juan Carlos Cruz, a Chilean victim of priestly sexual abuse who recently spent days with the pope at the Vatican to discuss his ordeal as the pontiff moves to tackle decades of coverups and ostracism of victims in the Chilean church, according to the Spanish newspaper El Pais. Cruz was quoted as having discussed his homosexuality with Francis. "He told me: ´Juan Carlos, I

Former Secretary of State John Kerry warned President Donald Trump Sunday that Democrats are not afraid to go against his “America First” policies. “We won’t win, any of us, ultimately, by retreating within our borders, by focusing on our own nations only, or by going it alone,” Kerry told those gathered at New York University’s Abu Dhabi’s commencement ceremony Sunday — a direct reference to the president’s “America First” trade and immigration policies. Kerry served as the secretary of state for former President Barack Obama. He also, notably, was one of the key negotiators for the administration when it was

A New Jersey high school is under fire after it released prom tickets that encouraged students to ´party like it´s 1776´. Cherry Hill High School East designed the prom tickets to commemorate that the dance was being held at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. But the ´insensitive´ language offended members of the student body, prompting an immediate apology from principal Dennis Perry. ´I am writing to apologize for the hurt feelings this reference caused for members of our school family,´ Perry wrote in a letter posted to Twitter on Friday. At the end of all the scandal and drama, all of the breathlessly reported lies and false accusations, at the end of all the money wasted on some zany kabuki swamp dance choreographed to the thrumming of giant bullfrogs and yipping of excited coyotes — at the end of all of this — it comes down to precisely what we said it was a year and a half ago. The Obama administration — with or without the knowledge and direction of President Obama himself — perverted one of the most powerful, clandestine spying operations in the world and used it at the very height of a presidential campaign to spy on political opponents,

As a committed Christian, I was happy to see the open presentation of the Christian faith at Saturday´s Royal Wedding. (snip) In a quick moment, Bishop Curry turned to the socialist world message of "Love." It snuck in through the side door of the church and landed on the lectern with hardly a noise. Curry later compounded his mistake by going down several rabbit trails that had nothing to do with a wedding, including a discussion of slavery. Worse were comments on Dr. King, who certainly was rolling over in his grave by that point, including quoting Dr. King´s favorite

WASHINGTON – Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) predicted that the Republican Party’s “genetic attachment” to the National Rifle Association “might actually cost them” seats in midterm elections. “It’s not as if we are convincing people what the right thing to do is. We’ve won the argument – 90 percent of Americans think that we should have universal background checks. Today, 67 percent of Americans, two-thirds of Americans think that should regulate the purchase and sale of assault weapons,” Murphy said at the Center for American Progress Ideas Conference on Tuesday. Murphy said the Republican Party’s relationship with the NRA has become more important
