Trump financial disclosure:
What did we learn?

BBC News, by Natalie Sherman

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 5/17/2018 6:22:44 AM

New York - The US has published President Donald Trump´s annual financial disclosure report, providing a glimpse of how the businessman´s far-flung dealings fared during his first year in office. The disclosure shows millions in 2017 income from rents, licences, book and television royalties, company shares, hotel management fees and golf courses. He also had pensions, including $64,804 (£48,000) from the Screen Actors Guild. (Snip) But some insights can be gleaned, in addition to the official disclosure of a reimbursement to his attorney for a payment to a porn star to hush her claims of an affair.

Comments:
It´s interesting that the BBC only gave a single sentence, like all the "fake news" here insinuating that President Trump specifically paid off Stormy Daniels through his lawyer. I don´t believe that. But, even Fox News spent a whole long article on just that one point.

"Trump financial disclosure includes Michael Cohen payment"

"Fair and balanced" doesn´t mean being an echo chamber for the dRATS unproven accusations.

Have they ever given a full financial disclosure of the Obama´s or Clinton"s? Why not? They won´t even investigate the Clinton Foundation thoroughly.

Everyone in the media is making the assumption that the payments were specifically for Stormy and that Trump knew they were for that vs retainer fees. It is a certainty that if Trump were still a rat, oh wait, in the era this ´affair´ supposedly happened he was a Democrat. He made the error of leaving that political party. In any case he wasn´t the President so it should be obvious to everyone this is pure spite to harm his reputation, not a serious criminal issue. I really hate the media, but have a special venom for the crummy Brits. On the other hand my ancestors were smart enough to leave and then brave enough to kill a few of the goons King George sent to repress us.

Of Crowns and Rings: Images
of Royal Weddings Over a Century
New York Times, by Staff    Original Article

The images of royal weddings are some of the most glamorous in our history books. But the events also have a real sticking power, be it in the memories of those who watched a day unfold or as an opulent footnote to an otherwise dreary history lesson. (Snip) There is one unifying factor: In each case, excited crowds watch two people whose personalities have been deliberately obscured, hidden behind a veil of pomp and propriety. What is it about these fairy tale occasions, filled with pageantry and splendor, that so captures the modern imagination? Perhaps it’s those very ingredients. Here are some images of royal weddings

Tehran - Iran could resume its 20 percent uranium enrichment if the European signatories of the 2015 nuclear deal failed to keep it alive following Washington´s withdrawal, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation said on Saturday. There are all kind of possibilities, we can ... start the 20 enrichment," Ali Akbar Salehi told reporters.

Shanghai - China’s air force has landed bombers on islands and reefs in the South China Sea as part of a training exercise in the disputed region, it said in a statement. The notice, published on the PLAAF’s Weibo microblogging account, did not provide the precise location of the exercise. The United States has dispatched warships to disputed areas of the

Are octopuses aliens from outer space

Octopuses are aliens. That’s the claim being made by a team of 33 researchers published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. They are not referring to aliens in a metaphorical sense, but literal aliens from outer space. Since the paper was released on Sunday, a trickle of news coverage has turned into a torrent, with increasingly alarming headlines about octopuses and their extra-terrestrial origins. It will not come as a surprise to many to learn that these claims have been roundly mocked by the scientific community, who have branded the paper – published in Progress in Biophysics and Molecular Biology – as ridiculous and unscientific.

House conservatives killed a farm subsidy bill that would have imposed work requirements on food stamp recipients because they didn’t get their way on tough immigration reform. The House Freedom Caucus’ fit of pique was a huge embarrassment to House Speaker Paul Ryan and a bitter pill for other GOP lawmakers who hail from agricultural states. The 213-198 vote killed the work and job training requirements, which were popular with President Trump’s base. But it also delayed farm subsidies, pork barrel cash that Republican lawmakers crave. Ryan took steps to call for a revote in the future but it’s not clear when the measure

Doctors say former Russian spy Sergei Skripal has been discharged from a hospital, more than two months after he was poisoned with a nerve agent. Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious in the English city of Salisbury on March 4, and spent weeks in critical condition. Yulia recovered more quickly than her father and was discharged last month. Salisbury District Hospital said Friday that both patients had now been released. They have been taken to an undisclosed location for their safety. Britain says the pair was poisoned with a military-grade nerve agent and that Russia was behind the attack. Moscow denies it,

Clapper admitted the FBI “may have had someone who was talking to them in the campaign,” referring to President Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He explained away the possibility of an FBI informant spying on the campaign as the bureau was trying to find out “what the Russians were doing to try to substantiate themselves in the campaign or influence or leverage it.” Obama’s Director of National Intelligence then went on to say, “So,

Horrifying photos show them sitting at a police station in their blood-soaked clothes soon after they managed to escape.

John McCain always said he’d go down fighting, and so he has, dickering from his deathbed over CIA nominee Gina Haspel and pre-emptively disinviting President Donald Trump from his funeral, then leaving as a legacy some fierce final words for the leader of his party, who is now a political enemy. All Trump displays is “a reality-show facsimile of toughness,” the six-term Arizona senator and former GOP presidential candidate, who for a generation of Washington politicians has defined genuine toughness, writes in his forthcoming memoir. The irony of McCain’s curtain-closing contretemps with the president is that it is clearly

Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton acknowledged Friday that Democratic candidates around the country still face basic questions about what they stand for and which policies their party supports. Speaking at a Democrat Women’s Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., Clinton urged party leaders to return to the basics and lay out the party’s values for voters. Fair wages, the “absolute promise of universal health care,” public school funding, gun safety reform and equal pay were at the top of the former first lady’s agenda items that she thought should stay central to the Democratic Party’s platform.

WASHINGTON — President Trump accused the F.B.I. on Friday, without evidence, of sending a spy to secretly infiltrate his 2016 campaign “for political purposes” even before the bureau had any inkling of the “phony Russia hoax.” In fact, F.B.I. agents sent an informant to talk to two campaign advisers only after they received evidence that the pair had suspicious contacts linked to Russia during the campaign. The informant, an American academic who teaches in Britain, made contact late that summer with one campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, according to people familiar with the matter. What does it mean to be sixth in the line of royal succession to an office that depends solely and exclusively on who your father is? It means that five family members have to die before you get the real goodies. Granted, those goodies are amazing. Who wouldn´t want to live in a thousand year old castle (too bad it´s in Scotland) or have dozens of "servants" cater to your every whim and need?
