James Harrison, an Australian man whose blood contains a rare antibody that can create a treatment that saves babies´ lives, has donated plasma one last time. Harrison, 81, is now over the age limit for donors — in fact, he hit the cap months ago. But the Australian Red Cross Blood Service let him donate one last time on Friday. The service estimates that over the course of his life, he has helped save some 2.4 million babies. Harrison, known as "the man with a golden arm," has donated blood and plasma regularly for more than six decades, from age 18 to age

Nice story, good man. As he says, he gets a cup of coffee and something to nibble on, in a safe room.

Good on him, God bless him.

A big thank you to a selfless man.

How many donate today or are drug free to donate?

One day the Boomers will die off here and snowflakes will destroy life.

The Sexting Scandal That Toppled One
of America’s Most Powerful Lawyers
Wall Street Journal, by Sara Randazzo    Original Article

It had been two days since William Voge was publicly disgraced, and the 61-year-old globe-trotting lawyer couldn’t sleep. His family, his colleagues and competitors, everyone it seemed, knew about the sexually explicit texts he exchanged last year with a woman he had never met in person, and still hasn’t. The fallout scandalized the legal profession and would cost Mr. Voge his job at Latham & Watkins LLP, one of the highest grossing law firms in the world, where he was chairman. Mr. Voge slipped out of his $5 million house in Solana Beach, Calif., that night in March. He went to a

Let’s Talk About the Black Abortion Rate

As Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination tees up another national debate about reproductive rights, is it too much to ask that abortion’s impact on the black population be part of the discussion? When the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade in 1973, polling showed that blacks were less likely than whites to support abortion. Sixties-era civil rights activists like Fannie Lou Hamer and Whitney Young had denounced the procedure as a form of genocide. Jesse Jackson called abortion “murder” and once told a black newspaper in Chicago that “we used to look for death from the man in the blue

By picking Brett Kavanaugh as his Supreme Court nominee, President Trump showed that credentials and connections still matter — when backed up by results. One of the most scholarly members of the judiciary, Kavanaugh’s more than 300 opinions are read widely and influence courts across the country — including the one that he now hopes to join. There are few if any more respected lower-court judges. More important than his erudition is Kavanaugh’s intense commitment to constitutional structure. As Anthony Kennedy, the justice he clerked for and now seeks to succeed, often emphasized, this is vital not simply to the functioning

Beto O´Rourke belts out a pro-pot tune

AUSTIN — U.S. Rep. Beto O´Rourke joined Austin legend Willie Nelson at the annual Willie´s Picnic on Wednesday night. O´Rourke, an El Paso Democrat running for Sen. Ted Cruz´s seat in the fall, tucked an "I Love You El Paso" T-shirt into his pants. Strumming a guitar, he sang "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die" — a message on brand for famous pothead Willie Nelson and O´Rourke´s pro-marijuana legalization stance. After they finished that song, Nelson shouted out, "Thank you Beto!" He kept the weed theme going as they rolled into the next song, "It´s All Going

In Other Words is no more. The bookstore and “feminist community center” made famous by the IFC comedy “Portlandia” closed its doors Saturday. A statement on its website blamed the closure on “patriarchy,” “white supremacy” and “capitalism.” (Snip)At In Other Words, the customer wasn’t always right. In fact, he was expected to “abide by” seven “guidelines” including this one: “Cishetero-patriarchy exists, white supremacy exists, ableism exists, racism exists, colonialism never ended, capitalism is bad. This is not a space where we argue about the basics of the situation.” The bookstore was open only a few days a week. It periodically

Environmental extremism increasingly dominates California. The state is making a concerted attack on energy companies in the courts; a bill is pending in the legislature to fine waiters $1,000—or jail them—if they offer people plastic straws; and UCLA issued a report describing pets as a climate threat. The state has taken upon itself the mission of limiting the flatulence of cows and other farm animals. As the self-described capital of the anti-Trump resistance, California presents itself as the herald of a green, more socially and racially just society. That view has been utterly devastated by a new report from Chapman

Is Beto O´Rourke the Next Wendy Davis?

Beto O’Rourke looks increasingly likely to be this year’s version of Wendy Davis. Remember her? The liberal darling who ran against Texas Gov. Greg Abbott but lost by a bigger-than-predicted margin because she just didn’t appeal to a bunch of Texas voters Democrats should be able to grab? Right. O’Rourke probably won’t lose by as much as Davis (the most recent University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll has him trailing Ted Cruz by five points, where Davis lost by about 20), but he has the same basic problem: he’s extremely exciting to rich, white liberals in places like Austin and Dallas. The smiles fueled optimism for their ecstatic family members awaiting word outside the cave, the Bangkok Post reported. The

Whatever its larger meaning or impact, Representative Joseph Crowley’s stunning loss to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in last Tuesday’s primary election already has set off one tremor within the Democratic Party: It has thrown House leadership into chaos. Mr. Crowley is chairman of the Democratic caucus, making him the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House. He also was the heir apparent to the minority leader, Nancy Pelosi. Ms. Pelosi, now 78, has herded Democratic cats for nearly 16 years and has made clear her desire to stay put if the party wins back the majority in November. But she’s expected to face a serious

Now that the world has digested the Horowitz report, notice how much of the story it doesn’t tell. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is treated as a closed loop when, in fact, much of its decision making was based on intelligence and advice supplied by other agencies. Michael Horowitz deals with some of this information in a classified appendix, which the public can’t see. Even so, as Justice Department inspector general, he is not authorized to examine and dissect the internal communications and decision-making of other agencies the way he did the FBI’s. Yet the necessity of doing so fairly screams

Perino slammed Democrats for an "outrageous" suggestion Strzok deserved a Purple Heart and scolded Republicans for "overboard" questions that "felt like a public lynching" during Strzok´s testimony to the House Judiciary and House Oversight and Government Reform committees. The comments from the former George W. Bush press secretary came after Strzok´s testimony dominated headlines and broadcast news on Thursday.

The indictment Friday of 12 Russian military officers for the election hacks against the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign lends a surprising new detail to the 2016 election interference timeline: The Kremlin’s hackers apparently still maintained a foothold in the DNC’s network four months after the Democrats announced that they’d locked the intruders out. Until today, the story of the DNC hack ended promptly on June 14, 2016, when the Democrats went public with the intrusion in the pages of the Washington Post, and Crowdstrike, the security firm hired to respond to the breach, published a detailed technical account. Anyone who has ever been to a recycling plant is invariably surprised at how dirty and nasty America’s favorite green activity really is. Trucks dump the material on a long conveyor belt, where a few dozen people pick through by hand what is supposed to be recyclable material, but more and more often is just plain old dirty trash. The recyclables used to be worth something more than bragging rights about liberal moral superiority. Plastic bottles, newspapers, and cardboard, were just a few of the favorites you could ship to China by the ton and make a few bucks along the

Americans are encouraged to embrace diversity and be culturally sensitive to those who have flouted our laws and invaded our nation. Meanwhile, illegal aliens arriving in America have no such requirement. Instead, trespassing tribes relocate, and when they do, rather than assimilate, they transfer habits and activities indigenous to the countries from whence they migrated. Thus, Americans suffer from illnesses that are easily traceable to third-world bathroom habits (TWBH) and lack of hygiene in the developing world. It´s not news that illegals work in restaurants as food-handlers. These restaurant workers migrate from

So Donald Trump went to a NATO summit, insulted our allies, then made the absurd demand not just that they increase defense spending — which they should — but that they raise it to 4 percent of G.D.P., much higher than the bloated military spending in his own budget. He then claimed, falsely, to have won major concessions, and graciously declared that it is “presently unnecessary” to consider quitting the alliance. Was there anything our allies could have done that would have mollified him? The answer, surely, is no. For Trump, disrupting NATO doesn’t seem to be a means to an
