James Harrison, an Australian man whose blood contains a rare antibody that can create a treatment that saves babies´ lives, has donated plasma one last time. Harrison, 81, is now over the age limit for donors — in fact, he hit the cap months ago. But the Australian Red Cross Blood Service let him donate one last time on Friday. The service estimates that over the course of his life, he has helped save some 2.4 million babies. Nice story, good man. As he says, he gets a cup of coffee and something to nibble on, in a safe room.

Good on him, God bless him.

A big thank you to a selfless man.

How many donate today or are drug free to donate?

One day the Boomers will die off here and snowflakes will destroy life.

State Rep. Stacey Abrams’s victory in the Georgia Democratic primary is historic: She’s the first black woman to win a major party’s nomination for governor in any state. But it’s also an example of the gamble Democrats are taking this midterm season. Unlike most Democratic candidates for statewide office in the South, Ms. Abrams shows little interest in appealing to independents or disaffected Republicans. She blames the Georgia Democrats’ poor showing in 2014 on efforts to appeal to what she calls the “very middle of the road.” Is support from the Democrats’ “resistance” base enough to carry her to the governor’s

Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, who was fired for lying under oath, spent $70,000 in taxpayer dollars on a conference table. The FBI also redacted the conference table’s steep price tag from documents that members of the Senate Judiciary Committee requested, in an apparent attempt to hide it from Congress. In a letter sent to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein Wednesday, Sen. Chuck Grassley revealed that the FBI had redacted the cost of the table from a document he and his fellow members of the committee requested to see. Grassley said many of the redactions within the documents made no

Yesterday, a divided Supreme Court announced its decision in Epic Systems Corp. v. Lewis, affirming the principle of private contract over the interests of the class-action legal industry. The ruling implicates not only trial lawyers but also the other great Democratic Party patron, organized labor. Thus, the wailing, tearing out of hair, and rending of garments in the halls of the plaintiffs’ bar and other progressive political havens. Epic Systems involves three consolidated cases. (The other two are National Labor Relations Board v. Murphy Oil USA and Ernst & Young LLP v. Morris.) The cases concern the scope of the Federal

Lava flows from the Hawaiian volcano Kilauea have destroyed at least 26 homes and disrupted thousands of lives in the past two weeks. Reading this news, you might wonder why some Hawaii residents have chosen to live at the foot of an active volcano. The strange truth is that the state government encourages them. Kilauea, located on the southeast side of the Big Island, is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. In geologic terms, it has been continuously erupting since 1983, when a lava flow destroyed 16 homes in a subdivision called Royal Gardens. Seven years later, what

In 2007, when I first met Jeff Pike, he had just finished an eleven-mile bicycle ride. He was wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes. We were at his two-story home that he had built on some secluded property five miles outside of Conroe, north of Houston. He was a good-looking guy, then 51 years old, and he wore his salt-and-pepper hair in a crewcut. As he handed me a bottled water, he gave me the most cheerful of grins. “Not what you expected, huh?” he asked. Not exactly. At the time, I was told by law enforcement officers that Pike

Legacy of ashes: Obama´s fading accomplishments

Early in the Obama presidency, National Review’s Jim Geraghty observed that all of Barack Obama’s promises come with an expiration date. By that, Geraghty meant that Obama tended to have strongly held convictions, up until the moment they became politically inconvenient. It turns out that President Obama’s few accomplishments are just as ephemeral. Lacking Senate votes to ratify a treaty with Iran, Obama instead made a personal promise to honor the Iran deal. Last week, President Trump reversed that decision. Obama long claimed he lacked authority to provide amnesty to illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children.

Karolyn Nunnallee had just gotten back from church when she got the news. Her 10-year-old daughter Patty, was in a bus crash coming back from a church-arranged trip to an amusement park. "My husband called and asked me where were Patty´s dental records. My logical mind knew you don´t just ask for dental records if there were survivors," Nunnallee told ABC News. What she didn´t know yet was that the Carrollton bus crash on May 14, 1988, was the deadliest drunk-driving accident in U.S. history. It still holds that record today. On July 22, 2002, she got into her silver S-Class 430 Mercedes-Benz and drove to the Nassau Bay Hilton, across the highway from the Johnson Space Center. Accompanying her was David’s sixteen-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, Lindsey, who was visiting from Ohio, where she lived with her mother. So exactly who is paying Michael Avenatti? And is he a lawyer, an opposition researcher, a journalist, or a campaign operative? He wants to make the discussion all about where Michael Cohen, President Trump’s personal attorney, got his money but, to have clean hands, Avenatti needs to come forward with exactly who is financing his operation, who his sources were for detailed banking information, and whether he really is an attorney solely representing Stormy Daniels or just using her as cover to wage a political operation. From the beginning, this has been fishy. Daniels’s previous lawyer advised her to stick to her

Some NFL players are reportedly considering new ways to protest after NFL owners voted on a new national anthem policy Wednesday, reports Sports Illustrated´s Robert Klemko. According to Klemko, some are discussing ways to skirt new rules "just to spite the NFL." The policy removes a requirement for players to be on the field for the anthem, and gives players the option to stay in the locker room. Teams will be fined for any personnel that "do not show proper respect for the flag and Anthem” on the sidelines. Other journalists were hearing similar things from players they talked to.

Mr. Hogg not only sought atonement money from the grocery chain in Thursday’s tweet, he also demanded a pledge of ideological fealty to the

President Trump cannot block people from his @realDonaldTrump account just because he doesn’t like their political views, a Manhattan federal judge ruled on Wednesday. Doing so violates their First Amendment right to free speech because Twitter is a “public forum,” Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald wrote in a landmark ruling that could change how public officials use Twitter. “We reject the defendants’ contentions that the First Amendment does not apply in this case and that the President’s personal First Amendment interests supersede those of plaintiffs,” the judge wrote in her 75-page ?decision.
